Page 23Completely AI made film. Not the kind of subject matter I care for normally(monsters and demons etc) but i want to see this. Premiers 5/21 at cannes. Hope it does well and pisses off the doomsayers 3000 word prompts on average they said. And i saw 1 million credits, i think thats the same as a token I've seen cael and qntmfred talk about before]

Couple things:1. A24, go ahead and take my money2. I don't get how they are making this into a movie let alone one that piques my interest so much
5/27/2026 4:39:54 PM
In my cousin vinny i never understood the reason joe pesci asked the guy if he rear ended and then asked if he fell in his place or someone elses place until now

I thought Bugonia was better than Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness
6/1/2026 9:53:06 AM
The Odyssey is the most expensive R rated movie ever
6/5/2026 12:30:28 AM
Without inflation adjustment, it's kind of a pointless statistic favoring newer films.]
6/6/2026 4:29:21 PM
Its the most expensive adjusting for inflation too
6/6/2026 6:14:22 PM
Oh! Well, that's actually something then.
6/6/2026 11:31:46 PM
I thought Hokum was phenomenal. A few odd choices by some characters, but that’s par for the course for horror. 8.5/10, highly recommend.
6/8/2026 10:50:12 AM
Seems like Supergirl is trending to under perform at the box office, and the right will use it as an excuse to say it is because Alcock comments on christian dads. Maybe I'm wrong but I predict it will under perform, but not because the comments she madeDisclosure Day last I saw 90% on RT, not that RT means a shit anymore seems like. One review mentioned first half great, 2nd half kinda gets fumbled a bit but overall Spielberg shows what made him so great
6/10/2026 1:44:14 PM
I’m still kinda on the right, and I’ve never heard of what she said….what did she say?If it underperforms, I’d just blame more superhero fatigue.
6/10/2026 3:20:52 PM
Something about how she laughs when she sees a christian dad with 4 kids at the movies or something. Idk the specifics, only that the right seemed to home in on the comments as a rallying cry. Now that I think of it, didn't they kind of complain about Superman being too woke last year, too?
6/10/2026 5:18:03 PM
Yes, they complain about everything.
6/10/2026 6:37:03 PM
Disclosure day was just ok. My neighbor phill saw it in theater, said it was "great great movie"- update..he only thinks that cause he views this almost like fact. Texting now about it...my neighbor phill is just out there about some things... Anyways, first 40 min to an hour had me. 2nd half lost me]
6/15/2026 7:43:05 PM
I swear the right will say this flop is exactly like how the "woke" snow white actress helped that movie flop by alienating viewers
6/20/2026 10:53:49 AM
Blank Check was covering Master and Commander and it had been a maybe for awhile. Finally dove in yesterday and very much enjoyed it.
6/29/2026 9:40:17 AM
^^I think it flopped because people just don’t care about superhero movies anymore. There is def. a market out there for good movies in the theater - look at Project Hail Mary. It made fistfulls of money. Toy Story 5 is doing great.I just don’t think people want to go see superhero movies anymore. I even think Avengers is going to struggle when it comes out.
6/29/2026 10:19:35 AM
Coherence (2013) was a good watch]
7/2/2026 12:45:22 AM
I love that movie! Have rarely gotten anyone else to watch
7/2/2026 12:07:34 PM
Gonna watch it soon...89% rotten tomatoes(which doesn't mean much anymore unfortunately)...never had even heard of it til TT posted about it. Seems interesting..."Eight friends at a dinner party experience a troubling chain of events due to the malevolent influence of a passing comet."
7/2/2026 12:15:40 PM
Yea i was surprised to have no posts by me about thatAnother movie that is very different but a similar setting (small party) and vib (what's going on) is the Invitation (2015).Have prob watched both 3 times
7/2/2026 4:32:56 PM
everybody over 40 needs to go see the new Jackass movie
7/3/2026 1:18:31 AM
Spoilers I guessI enjoyed some parts of supergirl(origin stuff mostly) but wish i cared more for the villian and lobo. Villian was weak and hardly seemed like lobo had any powers. Ton of corny one liners, lot of dumb things to keep plot going etc. Feel like Alcock lady told the kid "don't move" like half the movie lol. The dog is again key to the plot
7/4/2026 3:22:46 AM
Man, based on previous page, im glad i haven't read the book bc Project Hail Mary was phenomenal (amaze amaze?) to me. Like I guess I know the beats its hitting but sometimes a magic trick is a great show even if you know the secret.Loved it.On Prime btw
7/4/2026 8:51:46 PM
The Sheep Detectives was surprisingly solid. Even though I had heard good things, didn’t trust it until I saw for myself. Nothing mind blowing, but just a very pleasant well put together experience
7/10/2026 9:38:39 PM
Hey TGL, just curious, why the comment regarding over 40? Is it because those guys seem like superheroes at this point? It’s like the AC/DC show this past weekend in Charlotte. It’s getting rave reviews and everybody it talking about Angus at 71 and what he’s able to do.Also, saw Backrooms. I thought it was a solid movie.
7/13/2026 10:42:59 AM
because at its core it’s about aging and coming to terms with it those guys have been in my life since I was 14. it was an unexpected reason to look back on 26 years of growth.
7/13/2026 11:31:33 AM
Sounds good. Also probably painful to watch.Steve-O has had an interesting and redemptive journey through all this. I love hearing him talk about his experiences.
7/13/2026 11:59:40 AM
nothing really painful about it. it’s very sweet.
7/13/2026 12:16:42 PM
I never watched a single Jackass movie or show, other than accidentally, bc I hate watching people get hurt or do gross thingsDon't mind it as much in a fictional movie, but the JA stuff never drew me
7/13/2026 1:02:52 PM
The show was cool, the movies kinda sucked to me
7/13/2026 1:19:00 PM
I was always cool with them doing stuff to each other, but was kind of turned off by the things that required other people to clean up their messes. Especially when Steve-O walked into a Home Depot type store and used the bathroom in one of the display toilets. Some poor schmuck had to clean that up.
7/13/2026 2:09:40 PM
Unless that happened more than once, that wasn't Steve-O (it was Dave England), and pretty sure it wasn't a Home Depot (I could be wrong here, but I thought it was a local hardware store). But yeah, I didn't care for that kind of skit. But I did enjoy a lot of their antics and look forward to seeing this one.
7/13/2026 2:31:05 PM
^^ how do you know they left it for the staff to clean it up?they have to get everyone to sign a release form to be able to use their face. very likely that the film crew had to clean up after in order to get them to sign a release
7/13/2026 2:49:15 PM
I feel like that only makes it marginally better
7/13/2026 3:16:36 PM
Somehow I get the feeling, and it’s just a feeling, that they didn’t set their stunts up ahead of time with the general public. That would have taken away from the “experience”.Oh and I still get cold chills just thinking about the lambo/tooth skit. OMG why?
7/14/2026 8:09:11 AM
Seems like all the review headlines i've seen so far put the odyssey at 4.5/5 or 5 etc...very positive. 96 on RT right now. Only critical thing I've seen so far is that there are no greek gods in the film other than athena.
7/16/2026 11:17:01 AM
7/16/2026 11:44:50 AM
Backrooms lived up to the hypeThe Odyssey this weekend!
