It was a bad reception, too. Grab the ball.

2/1/2015 10:04:41 PM
That was a really dumb play call when San Diego State ran it against Carolina at the end of their game. Can't believe an NFL coach would make that same call with Lynch in the backfield
2/1/2015 10:06:55 PM
lol Brady

work is going to suck tomorrow. i've been talking up Russell all week

I think they threw the game on purpose
2/1/2015 10:11:14 PM
just tell them RW would've thrown the game winning TD if the ball wasn't underinflated?

Can you come through the offensive player as long as you intercept it? Seems like new cheatland was getting away with a lot of contact from their dB's in the second half.

Shill Belicheat and his New Cheatland Cheatriots were just a little better than Cheat Carroll's Cheatattle Cheathawks today. Just deal with it.]

I can't even imagine how pissed I'd be if State was in the Championship game and pulled that shit.
2/1/2015 10:33:26 PM
I can't imagine it either, because we won't sniff an ACC championship game in my great grandchildren's lifetimes. And that includes them getting futuristic medical procedures that allow them to live past the age of 200. And I mean championship GAME. Let alone win one.#wolfpack4life

Lol at the irony of Kurt Warner carrying and presenting the Lombardi. The patriots beat the rams in SB36, which was one of the most significant allegations in "spygate" and warner has openly wondered if he got cheated out of a SB. He probably wanted to bash the fuck out of Belichek with the trophy.

the wiki page said Pete Carroll was the future ex-head coach of the Seahawks and the only NFL coach to win a Superbowl for an opposing team by ordering a pass at the half yard line with less than a minute left. Wish I had a screenshot. oh well. i laffed

Vince Wilfork is greater than Reggie White and Warren Sapp put together. It's obvious since he has four superbowl wins and superbowl victories are an individual stat.[Edited on February 2, 2015 at 1:39 AM. Reason : ]

2/2/2015 3:37:13 AM
I mean on one hand I am happy that we got a great competitive game which always makes the super bowl better. On the other that play call still has me infuriated. I get the whole idea and reasoning behind it and even if they run the ball there its not like its a guaranteed TD. However, you gotta trust your best player and team to pickup 1 yard when the game is on the line. You knew you were gonna have to throw the ball the next play if you get stuffed but you also avoided a chance at that interception for one more play. If you do that same thing on third down then yes it sucks but no one is gonna question why you were running the play. I dont know just seems like they second guessed themselves at the last second trying to get cute thinking they were gonna catch the defense off guard.
2/2/2015 8:24:00 AM
2/2/2015 8:38:36 AM
this is what Wilson saw right before he threw: Watched the play a half-dozen times last night and Wilson as soon as he receives the snap from the center immediately starts to throw. If you notice, Butler is perfectly in line with Wilson's eyes and where the ball would end up going. It's not really a case of interception due to staring down receiver just because it happened too quickly, but Butler was right there and saw everything that was going to happen from the snap.
2/2/2015 8:47:04 AM
yeah you can criticize not running it. but it's not like the play was a horrible one. the DB just made an amazing play.^haha seriously[Edited on February 2, 2015 at 8:49 AM. Reason : same pic]
2/2/2015 8:49:01 AM
That DB is going to be like Tyree from the Giants. Make the play to win the Super Bowl, then never play another NFL snap for the rest of his life. It really was an awesome play by the DB. They probably should have run it, but the space was there for the TD.
2/2/2015 8:54:35 AM
there's a reason everyone is hating on the playcall not on RWit's just an awful play because the qb can do pretty much nothing if the defense reads it. i know the panthers have run similar plays and i think cam, even with his rocket arm, has thrown multiple picks on it
2/2/2015 9:00:43 AM
Also of note on not giving it to Lynch. 5 times this season he was given the ball on the 1 yard line. He only scored once. He also failed to convert a 3rd and 1 inside the 10 that lead to the FG on Seattle's first drive of the 2nd half.
2/2/2015 9:08:26 AM
Butler was in the right spot because he even said after the game it was a play that Seattle runs a lot and they knew how to defend it. He said he knew from the formation that it was likely a "pick" play and when he saw the block he just went to the spot he knew the ball would be.If you're going to try and out-smart the defense or try and catch them off guard...you're going to run a play that you run a lot so you know they've scouted you for it?Really thought they'd try and spread them out and let Russell make a play running the ball. They still had a timeout, you don't pass the ball until you have to in that situation.
2/2/2015 9:13:09 AM
But he also just ran for four yards on first down from the five. And for over 100 yards for the game. And the Patriots were on their heels. Not saying they should have lined up in goalline and tried to smash it in...just that the play call didn't make sense (even though the guy was wide open). They probably should have done a read option (same play that got Wilson in untouched against Green Bay in similar circumstances) or had Wilson bootleg out and hit a receiver dragging across the field (if they really wanted a passing play to "kill" as Carrol alluded to in post game). It was just a bad call. Not the "worst call ever" however...even though people are just saying that because of the result.
2/2/2015 9:13:53 AM
it's a pretty terrible call when you have a timeout left, there are 25 seconds left, it's 2nd down AND you have the best short yardage back in the NFL.Carroll and Bevell out-coached themselves.
2/2/2015 9:55:01 AM
Hindsight bias to the core. If Seattle's last play would of resulted in a touchdown the announcers, Seattle nation, and fans would be licking Carroll's nuts and telling how smart of a play it was but since it backfired everyone's like what a fucking stupid play, should of ran the ball, Russel should of audibled, shouldofdonethisdonethatwhatthefuckman. He took a risk and it backfired in the absolute worst way possible. Live & learn. Also, that doesn't qualify as NC State shit as it was too epic of a collapse on the biggest stage of all football. I shall create a new category called NC State diarrhea.
