your statement could be way more effective in all CAPS
1/10/2010 5:03:08 PM

i'm not gonna read through the last 20 pages. did anyone post this yet?apparently some hookah bars are ignoring the law and saying they're exempt http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/6781316/
1/11/2010 11:03:54 AM
They're going to get fined out the wazoo.
1/11/2010 11:10:42 AM
this thread is still active?
1/11/2010 11:18:22 AM
this thread is fucking nutsit's the biggest  i've seen on TWW in awhile
1/11/2010 11:18:41 AM
Ignoring the law is pretty stupid. They had 8 months to figure out what to do after it was signed.
1/11/2010 11:20:18 AM
Why would a non smoker even want to go to a hookah bar? Maybe if you're an industrial strength flea-comb salesman or you mistook the bar for a People of Rohan family reunion.
1/11/2010 11:21:32 AM
i was out at Raleigh Undercover Saturday night and these assholes had the nerve to start bitching about all the smokers outside Tir Na Nog .... they received a big fuck you from several members of the groupsome girl was making this chocking motion and was being such a bitch about it i thought of this thread and wondered if xplosivo was in the group lol]
1/11/2010 11:31:02 AM
haha i would never complain that people were smoking outside. i'm so happy they passed this law, so i don't care where they smoke now - as long as it's not inside
1/11/2010 11:32:17 AM
I was not. Nor have I said anything about smoking outdoors. You are allowed to do that. That being said, I did hit up several bars that used to be annoying because of the smoke and had a really nice time because the clouds of smoke were gone.It also occurred to me that smoker's will probably end up loving this law once the weather warms up. It is pretty much going to give you guys total access on all of the outdoor/patio areas at the bars. And imagine how much fun you can have tormenting the non-smokers who dare to sit out there. It will be like old times for you![Edited on January 11, 2010 at 11:36 AM. Reason : .]

ignore the law all you want, you will still be subject to the penalties.you might find laws against murder unjust, but you can bet your ass you will go to jail if you do it.
1/11/2010 12:26:11 PM
^Did you have a point?
1/11/2010 12:36:35 PM
^YOU GON' GET FINED
1/11/2010 12:38:10 PM
^^ I guess my point is that you have been shut down in this thread like 400 times now. All you do is come in and spout some libertarian rhetoric that might be fine in a vacuum, but is useless in a real world setting. I guess I am still just waiting for you to make a point that isn't retarded.
1/11/2010 12:42:12 PM
^You're a fairly good troll. The particular technique you're using now seems rather effective -- You basically describe negative qualities about yourself and your posts, but then you attribute the description to others. That way, if they decide to [accurately] describe you, you can just point to the fact that they copied your earlier description, and are therefore discredited for apparently being unoriginal copy-cats. Pretty clever. (All of my posts have been very valid points, and none have been shot down. And, in fact, you're the one making numerous "retarded points" that have been shot down repeatedly. -- But alas, you've switched the two with your clever trolling, and probably fooled quite a few casual readers. Good show.)

1/11/2010 1:57:11 PM
^^They can't actually shut a restaurant down under the law FWIW, the only penalty is a fine.If they want, they can choose not to pay it, take it to court, appeal the decision enough to get it to some level of supreme court and get that law overturned.]
1/11/2010 2:40:14 PM
You're right. The government should ban smoking inside your house too, because they CERTAINLY have the right to do so.If you're an adult, you become aware of health risks and deal with them. This is just as stupid as when they got rid of supersized meals at mcdonalds because fat people didn't have enough self control to get a smaller portion.
1/11/2010 6:07:59 PM
it's pretty obvious indy = willy nilly

So...I'm kinda loving the new law. Went to a couple places in Raleigh over the weekend and thought it was fan fuckin tastic to not smell like McDangers asshole when I left.We rolled up in the AMF at pleasant valley at like 10:30 and it was an hour wait for a lane. Bitch was packed. This is a win for the non smoking majority. Absolutely.

Some of you make some dumbass arguments for supporting this ban.If you like the ban because you don't like smoking, cigarettes, people who smoke, the smell, etc. etc. then that's fine. You should just say so and leave it at that. None of you who argue that the government has a right to ban the use of a legal product in a private establishment really give a shit about the legality of the ban.You people who say things like "OMG I WENT OUT TO THIS PLACE AFTER THE BAN WAS PASSED AND IT WAS PACKED BECAUSE THEY NO LONGER ALLOW SMOKING" must have never gone to those places prior to the ban. Glenwood South bars, Pleasant Valley bowling alley, and every other place mentioned in this thread were always packed prior to the ban. People aren't going to stop going out to eat, going bowling, or trying to pick up pussy just because they can't smoke inside. Will the ban hurt or help businesses? That depends more on the population than the actual number of smokers who quit going to these places due to the ban. If the population in a city continues to rise then there is a good chance that new-to-the-area non-smokers will keep establishments at their pre-ban levels. Some places may get a few new patrons who previously did not go to that establishment because they allowed smoking. However, certain previous patrons will quit going to that establishment, so at best the two groups cancel each other out.Places didn't start getting packed because they banned smoking. Cigarettes are legal in the United States. Private business owners should be allowed to choose what they will and will not allow in their establishments. There is no scientific evidence that conclusively links smoking to lung cancer. Winston tastes good like a cigarette should. I'd walk a mile for a Camel.[Edited on January 28, 2010 at 11:49 PM. Hey smokers -Saw yall standing around outside the bar last night smoking. Looks like fun.Disdain,DeltaBeta

^Do you not understand that statements like that only serve to further convince opponents of this bogus law that we're right?... and to encourage us to act? You douchebags may have won a battle, but we true Americans will win the war. In fact, once all these bans are struck down, it'll be a textbook history lesson in the American way. An unpopular minority is seemingly screwed by a popular majority, but as we all should know, we all have rights. As it turns out, no ones rights were hurt when smoking was allowed, but clearly the rights of bar and restaurant owners are now hurt. Thus, in the long run, this anti-smoking bullshit will only exist in history textbooks, along with other of our historical follies.
2/16/2010 9:20:17 AM
I don't give a damn. It's entirely selfish and self-serving, but I like the ban.EAT ME.

2/16/2010 9:28:34 AM
People still think about this?I just thought after a month no one would talk about it or care... sort of like every other part of the country where bans like this have been in place. To be honest, I hadn't heard any one even mention it at any bar I've been to since 1/1.[Edited on February 16, 2010 at 9:29 AM. Reason : x]

^ I'll keep my ears open from now on. How long until this gets overturned in your opinion? On a related note, I haven't had to wash my coat recently since it doesn't smell like ashy butt hole. That's cool I guess for me.
2/16/2010 9:34:20 AM
It's never getting overturned. B/c yeah it kinda sucks to go outside to smoke but it's not really that big of a deal. It reduces the amount that I smoke. And my clothes do smell better. So w/e.
2/16/2010 9:37:55 AM
2/16/2010 9:40:51 AM
We will see. Until then, enjoy standing out there in the cold or the oppressive heat and smoking. Hopefully, you'll die at a ripe old age, still standing out there with the same few other people.
