It is raining like a motherfucker in Fisher Park
11/16/2011 9:35:31 PM
^my mom said its been raining like crazy all day
11/16/2011 9:36:30 PM
I had 3 inches in the rain gauge when I left for work this morning[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 10:41 AM. Reason : ibt "why are you fucking your rain gauge"]
11/17/2011 10:40:43 AM
I bet you didSpeaking of terrible radio, anyone ever listened to an A&T football broadcast? It puts the worst public access show you've ever seen to shame.
11/21/2011 9:15:46 AM
1 question: Why are you listening to the A&T football broadcast?
11/21/2011 2:08:24 PM
I find this apartment ad ... unsettlinghttp://greensboro.craigslist.org/apa/2763855907.html
1/2/2012 10:38:32 PM
God, I hate this fucking town. Having to move back to the vicinity, even temporarily, is making me regret all of my life decisions up until this point. Sure, I despise mathematics and physics, but I'm physically capable of figuring them out, and none of my engineer pals have to live in fucking Greensboro. It says something that I'm desperately waiting for the opportunity to be violently ill for two years while trying to teach things to people who resent me and will actively resist everything I tell them while robbing me, all in some fetid jungle Peace Corps town, just because it will get me the fuck out of Greensboro.[Edited on January 2, 2012 at 10:48 PM. Reason : too many adverbs, even for me]
1/2/2012 10:46:50 PM
You sound grumpy
1/2/2012 10:47:48 PM
BOY NOBODY HAS SAID THAT BEFORE!Christ, what a hell hole. Actually, it's even worse, I live just over the border in Randolph County. A dry county. But unless I just give up and join the Ku Klux goddamn Klan, the only opportunity for social experiences -- such as they are -- lies in that festering urban sprawl to the north.
1/2/2012 10:49:55 PM
1/2/2012 10:50:42 PM
GrumpyGOP, you are a poor candidate for the Peace Corps
1/2/2012 11:13:53 PM
Well, shit. I mean, I don't even know who the fuck you are, but you probably know me pretty well. I should call them and tell them to tear up all my paperwork.Or -- and this is just another option here, just putting it out and seeing if the cat laps it up -- you could go fuck yourself to death with a rusted mace.[Edited on January 2, 2012 at 11:25 PM. Reason : It's been a long day. A long day in Greensboro.]
1/2/2012 11:25:00 PM
Mreow?
1/2/2012 11:26:28 PM
greensboro is not that bad. and living in randolph county is not the same as greensboro.
1/3/2012 7:58:46 AM
^ ThisIf i lived in Randolph County I would probably have a bad attitude too.
1/3/2012 9:27:39 AM
That's like bitching about Raleigh while living in Johnston County
1/3/2012 9:31:03 AM
Trindale
1/3/2012 9:35:49 AM
I think Greensboro is definitely more suited to the 30+ crowd.
1/3/2012 9:58:15 AM
Not sure I want to stick around for three years to see if that holds true.
1/3/2012 10:02:22 AM
I don't mind Greensboro. But I work there and live in Alamance county. I actually think that's the way to do it, honestly, and it's much cheaper. However, it doesn't compare to the triangle, which is where I'd really like to be.
1/3/2012 10:03:38 AM
1/3/2012 10:06:34 AM
^^ Agreed. Same situation here. Work in Greensboro (well, all over the triad actually) but I live in Whitsett. I am actually closer to Burlington than I am Greensboro.
1/3/2012 10:07:58 AM
Yeah, I'm in Mebane, so other side of Burlington. But you won't hear me complain!
1/3/2012 10:09:20 AM
but yeah, $0 city taxes ftw
1/3/2012 10:14:13 AM
Although, can someone tell me what's up with Four Seasons? It was a pretty good mall to shop when I was in high school. I went there a few weeks ago, and I thought I might get shot. When did that happen?
1/3/2012 10:15:56 AM
Hard to tell. I moved back here in 2006 and have always avoided that area
1/3/2012 10:30:14 AM
1/3/2012 10:52:50 AM
Carolina Circle Mall closed down so a lot of folks went to Four Seasons Mall to hang out. Now you have a divide in Greensboro with the middle class and above folks mostly going to Friendly Center and the lower class folks hanging out at Four Seasons. Or in easier terms. White people go to Friendly Center and everyone else goes to Four Seasons. It used to be that younger folks went to Four Seasons because you were less likely to get kicked out and older folks went to Friendly Center. Before Friendly Center was remodeled there was a movie theater, Winn Dixie (?), Eckards, and a Movie/Video rental place. Not much else for younger folks. We would ride our bikes up there, see a movie and rent a video game. At Four Seasons we would get dropped off and left for a few hours. They had an arcade, food court and other "fun" stuff. Looking back at things I have no idea how we didn't get hit by a car riding up to Friendly nor how we didn't get kicked out of Four Seasons every time we went.
1/3/2012 10:54:25 AM
^Yeah it's been within the last 10 years that Friendly Center expanded, I'm not sure if there is anything in the mall that isn't at Friendly. On top of that, all the growth in Burlington (Alamance Crossing) will pull business from the outskirts and outlying communities.
1/3/2012 10:57:32 AM
What does everyone in Greensboro do for a living? It might be fun to network a little bit. I work part time for a printing company doing tech support and design work.
1/3/2012 11:27:39 AM
I'm a front-end developer for a the only software company in Greensboro]

I was bored out of my mind when I first moved here; but in the 4 years I have lived in the Triad, its not been so bad. If you have money and a family, its a pretty decent place to settle in but if you are young, and not a douchebag, it can be pretty tiring (for the love of god can we get a decent beer joint?). For me too, I live in between W/S and G'boro so I have to go to one or the other to get anything done.

I've never seen a major road anywhere in worse condition than High Point Rd. The potholes and bumps at the Eugene St. intersection (I guess it's still Lee St. there) are lethal if you're on a bike. There are Roman roads that aren't that torn up.]
1/3/2012 4:24:28 PM
^^2004! So, really not that long ago. I guess it went downhill rather quickly after that.
1/3/2012 4:36:48 PM
2004? Man I feel old. Also I had no idea that Greensboro had a software company.
1/3/2012 5:20:12 PM
surely high point road has had time to improve. wtf
1/3/2012 5:21:01 PM
no. It tries to improve, but someone from District 1 complains and nothing happens.

Is anyone familiar with Center Pointe? Good place to live? Bad?
1/13/2012 9:48:43 PM
Need more details. I have heard of a couple different Center Pointes
1/13/2012 11:11:57 PM
It's the condo tower downtown that used to be the Wachovia building.
1/14/2012 3:56:27 AM
Yes. Do you know anyone who lives there? Good experiences? Bad? And how is that area for living? It's 201 N Elm St.
1/14/2012 5:11:05 AM
i dont know anyone who lives there but i walk by it everyday on the way to school, its right across from a beautiful park (where the homeless hang out) and you've got a restaurant on the ground floor plus the rest of downtown just a walk away. What considerations were you looking for in particular?
1/14/2012 9:16:19 AM
We want a secure building that's close to Greensboro Country Club and close to downtown.High-rise preferredHigh ceilingsLarge windowsModern style and appliancesCommunity poolFitness centerCovered parkingGood for a young professional coupleThat's the first option that stood out. Anything else similar to that?
1/14/2012 9:28:19 AM
i've never been inside so i don't know if they have a pool but it seems to match all the other criteria pretty well. it was on the list for my wife and i when we were looking for downtown places but they didn't have any available at the time. they artificially keep the amount of renters low to keep the sales prices high.
