^I would get it through Vanguard.

They offer very low costs mutual funds, especially index funds.

Also I would do just a high yield savings accounts so your not bound to any time commitment and furthermore you can keep adding money.

I really like
http://www.emigrantdirect.com

there is also
home.ingdirect.com
hsbc.com
citibank offers one
etc

"We are very pleased with iPhone momentum and we remain confident of achieving our goal of selling 10 million iPhones in calendar 2008," Oppenheimer told a conference call after the company reported second-quarter financial results.

They've GOT to have a 3G and or real GPS one coming out this year... that'd get half the apple freaks that already have one to buy another one (including myself)

Anyone think the 5$ gain apple made today it will loose it all tomorrow? Or does the growth news make them good to hold onto?

Unfortunately some of us don't have access to the actual IPO prices.
I got in at 59, 65, and 67. I'll probably get in some more within the next few days.

Dear Sru,

Why have you not learned your lesson yet? You suck at trading around earnings. Stick to your other strategies and stop being a dumbass.

Kind regards,

Reports say MSFT dropped another 5% after hours. It's down almost 11% in one day. I really think the market is over-reacting, I might buy some more.

Looks like the last MSFT trade was $29.88 after hours, so it looks like it actually close +$0.05 from the close ($29.83).

yeah, ameritrade had an article out this morning that said it was down 5%

Quote :
"pril 25, 2008- According to Bloomberg, Microsoft (MSFT) fell nearly 6% in after-hours trading last night after the software giant said sales of Windows dropped 24% last quarter and forecast earnings that may miss analyst estimates. Net income fell 11% to $4.39 bln, or $0.47 per share, $0.03 better than consensus estimates of $0.44; Revenues were flat, up 0.4% year-over-year to $14.45 bln vs. $14.5 bln cons. Analysts said the shortfall in revenues was due to the company cutting prices on Windows sales in areas like China where piracy rates remain strong. But one bright spot in the quarter was its Xbox video-game console where sales doubled forecast jumping 68% to $1.58 bln. Professor Jeff Macke mentioned Mister Softie in yesterday's Macke's Movers"
