awesome, finally an album that I will like.

I'm only good at "In Bloom" by NirvanaI play the drums with my friendsThey play it more without me
7/1/2008 9:28:41 PM
DL'd Doolittle last night. As expected, they guitar parts aren't that great but they're fun to sing and play at the same time.I was considering just grabbing my favorite 6 songs at 160 a piece given the number of <2:00 songs on this album. But they seem to have factored that into the price and it was only ~500 more pts to get the other 8 songs so wtf.

So more supposed RB2 setlists are making their way around the web, mostly rumors but they sound awesome.Oh and when Rock Band 2 comes out you can download the entire RB1 setlist for free.
7/6/2008 9:36:28 PM
so rumors say...atleast dlc is interchangeable which is good
7/6/2008 9:53:26 PM
hey maybe Wii will actually have DLC by the time RB2 comes out....
7/6/2008 10:37:50 PM
7/7/2008 8:02:22 AM
i think the "free download of rb1" is if you already have rb1 they are gonna have a way for you to download all of rb1 songs onto your hard drive so that you can play all songs from both rbs with just keeping rb2 disc in the console...maybe?

They have to give some kind of incentive for people who already have RB1 or else a lot of people are gonna be pissed at Harmonix for giving those songs away for free when we paid for them. Pissing people off is what Activision does, not Harmonix.
7/7/2008 1:19:21 PM
^ I love the idea, it means I can access all the Rock Band songs from one menu without having to swap discs.
7/7/2008 2:14:34 PM
^^ But then again, no they won'tthe standard for video game companies now is to screw over the early adaptersDo people bitch and moan when the halo map packs eventually become free? No, they've grown accustomed to it.Early adapters will forever be punished by video game manufacturers.Everyone will complain that RB1 is basically free now, but we'll all get over it and buy RB2, because we'd rather spend $60 on 80 new songs instead of $180 for new hardware as well
7/7/2008 3:03:58 PM
How much do Halo map packs cost though? I can't imagine they cost $60.And 80 new songs isn't an incentive if that is what everyone who gets RB2 is getting.
7/7/2008 4:14:15 PM
My point wasn't the cost, my point was something becoming free after it's been available for a while
7/7/2008 4:28:40 PM
You people are acting like Harmonix is just another Video Game developer. Just out for as much money as possible with no regards to how the fans feel.If you've been paying any attention at all to how they've been running things lately (especially in comparison with Activision and the GH series) you'd know that's pretty far from the truth.
7/7/2008 5:13:09 PM
^no...they are, hate to kill the fairy tale for you
7/7/2008 8:20:53 PM
oh you didn't kill anything. Not without posting some facts to back up your bull shit "opinion".
7/7/2008 9:33:18 PM
7/7/2008 9:34:21 PM
Of course they like money and are in the business of making it. And they make tons. Just, as an end user, I don't feel like Harmonix is trying to pull out every trick in the book to bleed out every dime they can get from me. The same cannot be said about Activision. ]
7/7/2008 9:40:15 PM
How many people will buy Madden 08 after 09 comes out?Once Rock Band 2 comes out no one is going to pay $60 just to have the songs from RB1.Guitar Hero 4 will also competing for the full-band market and Harmonix would be wise to do everything possible to make Rock Band 2 more appealing.
7/7/2008 11:45:12 PM
^it (rb1) probably won't stay at $60 once rb2 comes outalso, the content/songs, and therefore gameplay, is entirely different from rb1 to rb2each successive madden game/any sports game usually touts an updated graphics or animation engine over any interface changes, unless those changes are major/gimmicky (first-person mode, running a franchise, delegating buttons to specific players/receivers, etc.):http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/ea-sports-wants-to-show-madden-09-is-different-with-new-videos/i agree that guitar hero: world tour will provide plenty of competition, though harmonix supposedly feels that rhythm games should share the market rather than competealso, snow is insane on expert guitar

7/8/2008 12:24:18 PM
7/8/2008 12:37:30 PM
^half of the songs that came with the game suck, so it's more like $2/song with 30+ you'll never play for free. With that being said, I felt like the microphone, drums, and guitar that came with Rock Band 1 offset the cost of the game itself to where I didn't feel like I was paying $60 for the game. I don't know anyone that bought just the game without the peripherals.
7/8/2008 12:55:54 PM
It doesn't matter if they suckwhat about all of the "full album" purchases that only have 2 or 3 good songs in them?Plus, when you don't have to sing the song, even the sucky ones can be fun on at least one instrumentYou only really notice when you're forced to sing a song that you a) don't know and b) hate the tune
7/8/2008 1:13:41 PM
I can see it now:"We've decided half the songs on the RB1 disc suck, so we're going to give the whole thing away for FREE!!!1"No, they're going to cost $2/piece (same as ANY other song) OR if you're lucky $1/piece or there will be a RB1 pack for $20 or $30.I mean, they haven't even confirmed that the songs will be free for people who own RB1 yet. I think it's quite a leap to go from there to free for EVERYONE.
7/8/2008 2:04:00 PM
I would really like the ability to have all songs from both games on "one disc", meaning I wouldn't have to switch out my disks to playso since I already own RB1, I don't care how they do it
7/8/2008 2:14:44 PM
^agreedconvenience is one thing (switching out discs to play certain songs, etc.); enjoying all the old songs with the new features is what i care aboutspeaking of: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/puzzle/rockband2/news.html?sid=6193439&part=rss&tag=gs_previews&subj=6193439[Edited on July 8, 2008 at 2:36 PM. That was one of the biggest gripes I had about DDRwhen you had 5 games or so, it was a chore to always have to switch in and out for different songs

^ Since that song is announced for RB2, they wouldn't have included it here I wouldn't think
7/17/2008 8:27:44 AM
DLC sucks these days.
8/7/2008 12:05:17 PM
you got that right. I thought they would've done a lot more with it by this point
8/7/2008 12:09:04 PM
i figured they were sandbagging since RBII is coming out this fall. i can't remember the last time i downloaded a song.
8/7/2008 12:27:08 PM

8/8/2008 2:58:40 PM
Does anyone watch IBitePrettyHard's youtube videos?Dude is amazing on the drums
8/9/2008 11:07:37 PM
so we just got this about a month ago...i'm trying to play guitar and it seems like it's only registering every few notes. Are there still defective batches in the "newer" ones out for 360 or do i just suck??? I'm going to go with I just suck But does anyone have any suggestions?
8/21/2008 9:30:09 PM
sounds like you need to calibrate the game for your tv/sound setup
8/21/2008 10:50:47 PM
Try going through the menus slowly with the guitar and see what the responses look like there. Just press down 15-20 times on the song selection screen and make sure it goes down every time. Then back up. Then back out of menus with the red and go forward with the green and make sure you get a proper reply every time. Make sure to test every button to make sure it works properly in a calm setting. Also if you know anyone that's relatively good at guitar get them to try it out. They should be able to tell you if it's a problem with the guitar or not. 99% of the problems I heard about were the drums, but that doesn't mean that there aren't bum guitars out there. If you do have a bad one, it's relatively easy to return them.

all the new instruments come out Sunday as well.Amazon had them listed for Sept. 10, but I called Best Buy, and their street date is Sept. 14. Now Amazon is listing Sept. 16.
