page 23 says Ron Paul 2008 quoting the last post on the previous page since i dont want it to get lost:

I am sick of the media shitting on Ron Paul just b.c he does not fit into the mainstream pre-packaged "status quo" candidates. His grassroots appeal his fucking huge and all we hear about is the typical partisan hack crap about "obama and drugs", "huckabee leading some arbitrary poll", "thompson hates confederate flags", etc.
12/17/2007 5:43:04 PM
you should totally start a revolution manrage against that machine RAAR
12/17/2007 5:46:47 PM
are you 15? why are you even posting in this thread.
12/17/2007 5:56:47 PM
yep, i'm 15
12/17/2007 5:58:24 PM
well you're definitely acting like it. if you want to post something constructive, be it all out source supported criticism on Ron Paul, be my guest.and HUR i concur 100%
12/17/2007 6:01:49 PM
everyone concurs 100%. everyone knows he gets no play in the media. we know that. we all know it's bullshit too. why bring it up all the time?
12/17/2007 6:06:35 PM
This man has balls of steel. He's got the first link on Drudge today for quoting Sinclair Lewis in a FOX interview.Asked about Huckabee's Christmas ad, part of his response was "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrkltetQ0x4&e[Edited on December 18, 2007 at 10:36 AM. everyone is out to get him
12/18/2007 10:43:00 AM
Ron Paul is the main article on CNN.com right now.
12/18/2007 3:39:11 PM
i find it strange how little money any presidential candidates are able to raise$20 million is like the price of a nice brownstonethe networks probably spend much much more covering the primaries
12/18/2007 10:18:10 PM
Keep in mind that it's the primaries. The money - and organizational prowess of the parties - is divided, and some people wait until the general election to pay attention, much less donate. The big haul comes in after the conventions.
12/18/2007 10:20:20 PM
as long as he doesn't get rid of NASA and coathangers I like him.
12/18/2007 10:36:25 PM
I saw somewhere a guy with a sign or shirt that said "Ron Paul cured my Apathy." I couldn't agree more. I haven't read this whole thread, but damn I am sick of these cookie-cutter figures I am told to chose between that say one thing but do another.I honestly feel like this is our time to step up and show our power as a people.
12/19/2007 3:18:30 PM
Why is everyone on the internet calling him a nazi now?
12/22/2007 11:52:00 PM
?probably because of the stupidity that came out of mccain's mouth, about how hitler did what he did because we didn't intervene
12/22/2007 11:55:57 PM
you forget: Al Gore invented the internet

There are a lot of editorials criticizing Ron Paul for not wanting to return money donated by some random white supremacist guy no one has ever even heard about. Its talked about later in the video. Fox news is somewhat fair to him but there are a lot of editorials calling him a "neo-nazi".http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_knb8XDjGA
12/23/2007 12:03:12 AM
why should paul return the money? Does that man not deserve the right to support a candidate? Has that man committed any crimes, other than ones against our sensibilities?btw, did you not just answer your own question, or were you trollbaiting?[Edited on December 23, 2007 at 12:05 AM. Reason : ]
12/23/2007 12:04:39 AM
he was on meet the press this morning
12/23/2007 11:56:35 AM
I have Paul in second on my list right now. I think romney would just be a better leader, obviously because of his great credentials in turning businesses around, and understanding how markets work. He would also be the most likely of all candidates to know how to surround himself with truely brilliant people in areas that he is weak instead of giving positions to people that are just friends and donators (huckabee). You may say that it sounds crazy that I could support someone like romney and then say I would support Paul ... but Ive been trying to find a second favorite, and I have listened alot to what he has to say. While I think some of Pauls statements are a little bit extreme (and some of his supporters), I think the root of his policy ideas do hit to the heart of what our constitution demands.Plus, I cant really support to gulianni, and huckabee would never win the national election.
12/23/2007 6:49:46 PM
12/23/2007 7:51:58 PM
Yeah, you have to realize that these guys dont always promise groups things when they get endorsements and money. Many times, its just people supporting who they like best. However you cant say turn it around and say that the candidate is tied to those donators... nor does it mean they agree with or support their causes.
12/23/2007 8:01:25 PM
romney's ability in private business does not always translate well to economic policy. running the federal government should be almost completely the opposite of running a corporation. the goal is not to expand and increase revenue, but to ensure fair markets and preserve the general welfare of the people. We already have a HUGE problem with corporatism in washington (aka the military/industrial complex). The last thing we need is a president with MORE ties to the existing problem. He wouldn't reduce spending, he wouldn't change the status quo. Romney is all about continuing the course we are on (as are the rest of the non-ron candidates). If you want what's in the best interest of the MARKET (that is, all business and all consumers), you'd want to remove federal subsidies in most industries, remove regulations, and open markets.
12/23/2007 8:14:49 PM
I agree with what you said in some ways, and i totally understand that gov is not COMPLETELY like running a corporation ... But, in terms of efficiency of government and evaluating non performing peices of government, I think Romney would really shine in bringing down some of the current wasteful bureaucracy that we have.Im also still not sold that Ron is totally electable by the general population, and that has to be considered when selecting a candidate.Selecting a candidate and supporting a candidate are two different things though, I do accept.I can say that I do like to see Ron getting more support nationally. I just wouldnt select him yet.
12/23/2007 8:48:22 PM
Wasn't business acumen the same argument given in 2000, when we had another MBA running for president - a young governor by the name of... George W. Bush?I wonder how that one turned out in terms of fiscal responsibility...
12/23/2007 10:24:49 PM
I only hope that if Ron Paul is elected, it turns out like it did last time we elected someone who attended medical school.
12/23/2007 10:48:08 PM
who was this???
12/24/2007 2:02:43 AM
so this is a serious question: what percentage of ron paul supporters are women? i ask this because it seems like i only see men talking about him.
12/24/2007 2:36:13 AM
I don't know the %-age but my mom is among the Ronpaulian hordes.
12/24/2007 4:46:05 AM
Ron Paul is to the presidency as President Ahmadinejad is to nuclear power -- affectionately destined for each other, but damned if they should ever meet.
12/24/2007 6:14:13 AM
12/24/2007 9:08:57 AM
^bingo. he's probably not going to win, but even a good showing for him and his ideals is a huge step in the right direction, and will hopefully get the wheel of change turning.
12/24/2007 10:35:59 AM
^^ thats inaccurate ... You really think Romney thinks big gov't is wonderful ?? He is one of the biggest free market advocates I have heard in the campaigns ... Thats one reason I like him so much. (and paul for that matter)Don't generalize republicans by liberal gibberish, as it influences me to disregard anything you might have to say. We SHOULD try to remain accurate in these threads, or else they become a bunch of crap thats not worth reading.[Edited on December 24, 2007 at 10:41 AM. Reason : .]
12/24/2007 10:40:06 AM
wasn't romney the one who recently said he saw his father march with MLK....then said he meant he "saw" (in the figurative sense) when it came out that his father was never near any marches?may be mistaken, just checking.and the interview on meet the press was very good...dodd (i think is the guys name) was trying to back him into a corner (as he does with many guests), but Paul had a solid answer for everything.

12/24/2007 11:50:24 AM
I don't like Ron Paul. He's not a Libertarian, he just plays one on TV. Ron Paul's "constitutionalism" is just cover fire for his total inability to see the forest for the trees. His continuing opposition to the War in Iraq makes him unfit not only to be President, but a congressperson or statesman of any stripe.
12/24/2007 2:19:51 PM
ZOMG A REPUBLICAN WHO DID NOT JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON FOR SUPPORTING THE UNJUSTIFIED WAR WITH IRAQ!!!
12/24/2007 2:54:15 PM
12/24/2007 3:17:47 PM
^Anybody who sacrifices national security interests because of his tunnel-vision view of what he thinks the Constitution is, is a nutjob dimwit. Fuck you if you think otherwise. I'm a real conservative, I don't live in some fantasy-land where every goof-off with an opinion on the Constitution gets to play roulette with our lives.
12/24/2007 3:28:50 PM
So, anyone who opposes running the Constitution through the shredder in the interests of political expediency is a "nutjob fuckwit." Thank you for truly explaining to us what a "true conservative" stands for - it has been most enlightening.I do wonder how you'd express your contempt for Benjamin Franklin, however, who gave us this familiar chestnut:
12/24/2007 3:33:08 PM
^OK, time to play "learn to read and interpret quotes." Or maybe just learn to read.
12/24/2007 3:38:52 PM
You'll believe anything, then, if you think somehow ramming our civil liberties into the shredder will somehow permanently end the threat of terrorism. No further comment required.
12/24/2007 3:40:47 PM
^Yes, because our civil liberties are really in the shredder. If we all die in a Nuclear Holocaust because President Paul decides to go soft on Iran -- can't have any entangling alliances or intervention! -- well, at least we died free from limited uses of Federal Wiretaps!
12/24/2007 3:54:37 PM
Because I'm sure a policy of engagement and trade is sooooo much more likely to produce a nuclear holocaust as opposed to pre-emptive bombings and endless warfare.Seriously, just out-and-out declare it - you're not even a conservative - they at least claim some fealty to the Constitution. The word for your kind is "fascist." Out with it, already.
12/24/2007 4:00:09 PM
^Oh, here we go with the old Libertarian "anyone who disagrees with me is a fascist" nonsense. Keep on. You've made it through every page of the "why we don't get elected and noone likes us" playbook. What next, gonna get a "Don't Tread on Me" tattoo on your ankle?
12/24/2007 4:03:16 PM
No, just you. It's just you who is the fascist. Just you who believes our civil liberties are expendable. So when will you admit it to everyone else? Because it's already abundantly obvious, given your utter contempt for the Constitution and everything it stands for. When can we expect a little honesty out of you?
