As our schedule for next year shapes up, I really feel like we will need all of our returning players to play well along with getting significant contributions from the new guys if we are to meet expectations. And we NCSU fans know what happens when we dont meet expectations

I am pretty sure that we will get great play from Hickson and Smith (???) in the post to free up Costner and McCauley (no more foul trouble woes!!!), but the main gray area is still at PG . on the bright side, it looks like Sid is doing a great job bringing in PG talent, so one of them is bound to pay off right?

Well as wolfAApack pointed out, Smith can sign and still not qualify. So him not signing an LOI isnt direct cause for worry, but it sure as hell is a very indirect suggestion of trouble behind the scenes....

Its now been over two weeks into the signing period, no LOI despite his promise to do so. No press releases. Nothing. I doubt that it is because he is too busy with exams .... /gulp If you dont think that isnt reason enough to worry by now...eh... u havent been a state fan long enough...

Well, if you look at our team, there's no way he would get any PT this year. Maybe next year if Costner and/or Hickson leave early but even that's not a guarantee. I'm sure other coaches have been whispering in his ear since he's one of the top guys left to not officially sign with anybody yet. He may be having doubts right now. Hope for the best, expect the worst. That's a given for State fans.

Just a thought: If eventual qualification is an issue for him, maybe he is considering a school where his academics arent going to be under such scrutiny? The NCAA is all over our case...
