Patrick Roy won the Memorial Cup tonight as a coach/GM...Quebec Remparts 6, Moncton Wildcats 2. Good ol' Teddy Nolan was coaching Moncton, so perhaps someone in the NHL will ignore the blacklist and finally hire his talented ass again.

Awesome game to be at in person, but damn, I was not aware that pretty much all of sections 310-320 are Buffalo fans, I was definetly in hostile territory. A lot of the Buffalo fans in the parking lot after the game were just talking shit non-stop to any hurricanes fans that walked by, the NCSU campus police were even in the parking lot, I think they were about to make some money off those saps until a fight or something broke out and the started going the other way. All in all most of the Buffalo fans there were complete jerk-asses that needed a good kick in the ass.

Same thing happened last Saturday. There were a bunch of them parked in my normal parking spot, playing some weirdass game that was like horseshoes but with horizontal poles and ropes. I regulated on them with some industrial strength Brass Bonanzage.

I had hoped to see what feeble excuse for a responce msfag could muster about tonight's game before I went to bed.

Neat Story.
I work in Greensboro and stopped on my way back to Raleigh tonight to get gas. The guy on the other side of the pump was wearing a Sabres shirt. I said to him "Oh, I am sorry, we're going to have to do something about that". He looked very surprised. I told him that his Buffalo shirt just wasn't going to cut it. He laughed. I asked if they drove down (because who in their right mind lives in NC and is pulling for those damn Sabres?). Sadly they live in NC and we joked about how easy tickets were to get versus in Buffalo since this is still, unfortunatly, a bumpkin state. I went to wish them better luck next time, but told them that I couldn't since because I wanted Carolina to put Buffalo out of its misery next Tuesday.

Holy shit, god forbid the playoffs spark interest in Hurricanes hockey.

I went to one game this season, but playoff hockey has had me at four games in the playoffs, including tonights. I'm going to at least split season tickets with someone next year, and I might go in for a full season depending how the $$$ situation looks for me.

Like I said, I'm glad people are there and enjoying the game, and I'm actually very glad when people who see very few games get hooked by the playoffs.

I'm just a tad disappointed that they wanted more for rounds 3 & 4 than I paid for the entire season, even after I let them have thousands of dollars of my savings for more than a year with nothing in return. It might be naive to expect something for that loyalty, but considering what happened to this team's STH base after they finished dead last in '03 and couldn't even win the draft lottery, I thought they might give it a second glance.

Tonight was the first playoff game (and the second game of the season) I've missed, so it could be worse.

When it came down to it, I desperately needed new skates, and I put together a system whereby I'll miss an absolute maximum of four games (knock on wood) and still get boots that aren't fuX0red.

No, I agree, Canes fans got fucked as far as playoff ticket prices are concerned. Comparing ticket prices of STHs for the Canes to those of Buffalo, or most any other team for that matter, clearly shows that. And because of that we had fewer people attending the games, and it allowed for the douchebag Buffalo fans to get more tickets.

Maybe the front office will hear enough feedback and not pull this shit again next season, and STHs will be able to get to all the games they want. That's only fair for supporting the team all season.

I'm just saying a hockey fan here has it pretty damned good compared to hockey fans up north and you guys shouldn't be bitching about price. I assumed someone mentioned that the buffalo tickets sold out in 12 fucking minutes while we still have tickets available days after they are put up for sale? You can start complaining next round when the scalpers sweep up every stanley cup final ticket available 30 seconds after they go on sale, but not now.
