How much better will the video look with those cables?
11/16/2006 10:02:54 PM
A lot, provided your television supports 480p resolution.
11/16/2006 10:03:29 PM
yeah they sold out at the nintendo store WAY too fast. I hope I don't have to go to 3 different places to get everything I need sunday
11/16/2006 10:04:09 PM
Hey guys I just thought I would give you a heads up, my roommate works at Toys R Us, they got their Wii's in tonight. They have 60 of them ready to go on Sunday (one of which is mine through preorder) and a WHOLE BUNCH of copies of Twilight Princess. They only got like 8 PS3's though.
11/16/2006 11:22:40 PM
How many are taken up for pre orders?
11/16/2006 11:33:00 PM
Not sure but from the sound of it, not too many. He said that they were expecting a lot to be available on Sunday. This is Toys R Us at Crossroads btw.
11/17/2006 12:02:23 AM
midnight release?
11/17/2006 12:08:57 AM
No but they are opening at 10am on Sunday.
11/17/2006 12:09:27 AM
Any idea when the next shipment of wiis should be expected? Im going to try to get one on Sunday but if that falls apart I dont want to wait 4 weeks for the next batch to arrive.
11/17/2006 12:40:05 AM
Don't worry. Nintendo is expecting something like 4 million available by Christmas.
11/17/2006 12:42:16 AM
Yeah, Im not worried about not getting one I just feel like fucking cartman
11/17/2006 1:02:39 AM
if i preorder a wii at toys r us at cary... does that mean i can just waltz up there on sunday and get mine, guaranteed? If so, I'm taking a trip up there today! i'm surprised all their preorders have not been filled up!BTW, nintendo was GENIUS for including zelda as a launch title. Any other time, I would never care about getting the system right at launch...but I just gotta have my zelda. I know I'm not the only person like this, so kudos to Nintendo for a good marketing strategy.[Edited on November 17, 2006 at 5:32 AM. Reason : yep]

11/17/2006 7:52:03 AM
^Not actually. Here is what happened with the preorders (at least at the Cary location). Initially they were only getting like 15 units in so corporate wasn't allowing employees to get pre-orders and those ones went really quickly. After a few weeks they found out they were getting a lot more than expected, so I just gave my roommate the $50 down and he picked me up a pre-order while he was at work one day. He came in last night and said that they had tons, so I think you might be able to still get a pre-order, but I would recommend calling ahead and finding out.
11/17/2006 8:26:45 AM
39 hours 30 minutes
11/17/2006 8:27:02 AM
actually we'll only have about 15 that were not preorders, and you can not preorder anymore... just for heads up[Edited on November 17, 2006 at 9:24 AM. Reason : .]
11/17/2006 9:22:56 AM
Just in case, how many non-reserve copies of Zelda do you guys have?
11/17/2006 9:23:43 AM
tons
11/17/2006 9:24:54 AM
what about extra controller...will you have a bunch of them
11/17/2006 12:45:01 PM
I'm the lamer buying Zelda for GC...go me.
11/17/2006 1:04:56 PM
for a couple of seconds I was thinking of getting the wii with the GCN zelda game and using the regular controller with it. then I realized that I wanted to be running around my living room swinging the master sword and thought better of itI'm still looking forward to getting some gamecube games though.. i'll probably get the zelda collection first, then start looking into other stuff
11/17/2006 1:10:00 PM
i'm gonna sit on the sidelines for a few months, i will get a wii though, just not initial release
11/17/2006 1:29:49 PM
I keep going back & forth on whether or not to pick the Wii up...argh
11/17/2006 1:41:57 PM
I went ahead and picked up Rayman and DBZ today.
11/17/2006 1:51:10 PM
I've decided I'm definitely getting a Wii. Hopefully I won't have too much trouble finding one. I don't think it'll be a big deal.
11/17/2006 1:54:32 PM
where are you getting tthe games?
11/17/2006 1:54:46 PM
i'll prob get a wii too, but not until decemberrrr
11/17/2006 1:59:24 PM
Finding games won't be a problem. At all. You'll be able to walk into any store and buy any game you want. Maybe not the "Game stores" but wal-mart, targets, Circuit City. Games aren't the issue.
11/17/2006 1:59:38 PM
Gamestop is selling games that don't have a street date, which basically means everything but Zelda and Excite Truck. I went to the one off Kildaire Farm Rd in Cary.
11/17/2006 2:00:13 PM
really now?
11/17/2006 2:01:09 PM
http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3155329Even though I was expecting these kind of reviews all along, it makes me feel justified in picking up a console this weekend.
11/17/2006 2:01:13 PM
yeah...toys r us has no more preorders, i called earlier...i guess i'll go to wal-mart tomorrow night between 9-10 and just wait in line....how many is wal-mart getting?'and is wal-mart doing a midnight release? What is best buy doing?[Edited on November 17, 2006 at 3:41 PM. Reason : yea]
11/17/2006 3:33:55 PM
Walmart is releasing them at midnight? ARe there other retail midnight launches?
11/17/2006 3:51:51 PM
They did midnight releases of ps3s, so I don't know why they wouldn't do the same for wii. I know that's my plan.
11/17/2006 5:03:25 PM
Walmart is doing midnight releases, it was in the sunday flyer this week.
11/17/2006 5:05:43 PM
i'm getting off work at 10PM on saturday. i wonder if dilligent nerds will have already taken all the spots in line by then.
11/17/2006 5:19:39 PM
it is cool that wal-mart is doing a midnight release...but the real question is how many does each wal-mart have?
11/17/2006 5:29:19 PM
it probably varies with store size just like the Targets. if you call and ask them they'll tell you. the one here in Rolesville is getting 20.
11/17/2006 5:31:07 PM
11/17/2006 5:47:01 PM
11/17/2006 9:54:22 PM
which wal-marts in the area are open 24 hours and doing a midnight release? The website doesn't show the store hours, I'll have to call around I guess
11/18/2006 7:28:41 AM
if you do an advanced search on the website, one of the options is "open 24/7"the cary one is not open all night, the one on glenwood is.
11/18/2006 8:43:48 AM
this is insane...all that PS3 on CNN "going for $15k" (idiots don't mention it's probably a fake bidder) has people loony over the should-be-everywhere WiiI'm in freaking west virginia, of all unpopulated places in the world, and my 2 local Wal-marts have people that "have been waiting all night" for the Wii. I feel for you folks in actual cities.[Edited on November 18, 2006 at 10:16 AM. Reason : .]

It's gonna be hilarious if most stores have plenty left over after all the people in line get one ^wow, you've been holding on to that one for a while haven't you? Nice job calling me out before Wiis are even available[Edited on November 18, 2006 at 10:35 AM. Reason : ]
11/18/2006 10:26:25 AM
we'll see won't we
11/18/2006 10:27:18 AM
all I know is that I am getting mine at midnight with ZERO hassle, and it is going to be fantastic being able to play it all night long
11/18/2006 10:44:09 AM
I wonder if the release of the Wii will lower the prices of gamecube & DS consoles and games?
11/18/2006 10:54:39 AM
^ dude that's like saying I wonder if the release of Intel's Pentium 4 will lower Pentium 3 prices.Of course it'll lower GC prices, so if you don't mind not having the latest & greatest, it'd be a great time to snag a used GameCube, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Smash Bros.
11/18/2006 11:06:43 AM
every store i've talked to has said they have plenty of wii's to go around....hell, the local best buy got 26 PS3's.... they had 28 people in line at midnight... only 2 people walked away empty handed...
