These national stories are getting me pumped

this is a perfect instance of me hating the player, but not hating the game

Scathing article from sporting news. Most direct calling of Carolina as cheaters I've seen outside of the affiliated (eg. PackPride, Statefans, etc.) media.
8/13/2012 2:03:44 PM
I was all excited about this until one of my Facebook friends reminded me that we were cheaters too because of the purvis situation.
8/13/2012 2:04:35 PM
man oh man aint nothing finermore cheatin found at north carolina^ wait, what? decades of fake classes and fake degrees are ignored, but WE are cheaters because a RECRUIT'S HS has been questioned?]

I love how we've supposedly cheated with a player who hasn't played a game yet
8/13/2012 2:07:50 PM
^that and it isn't a matter of wrongdoing. It's a matter of standard NCAA procedure checking the paperwork and program of a new high school that an athlete of any college would have to go through. That's like calling every freshman a cheater because the NCAA sends them all through the clearinghouse.[Edited on August 13, 2012 at 2:10 PM. Reason : .]

whenever they'd introduce Peppers on Monday/Sunday Night Football, he'd usually say something like "Julius Peppers, Bailey" instead of his collegemaybe this season he'll say "Julius Peppers, Independent Studies in AFAM" or something equally hilarious

I got a little bit aroused reading that SN article. This was my favorite part:
8/13/2012 4:43:01 PM
I enjoyed the article, but my problem is with the tone the writer used. He comes across as angry and spiteful (if he is, it's justifiable), but pair that attitude with repeated references to Emmert as "Mr. Big Stick" makes him come across a bit childish. My concern is that the writing style may allow "serious" people at the NCAA or UNC to try and brush it off as garbage journalism. For instance, the Yahoo! Sports guy that published two articles on the various scandals focused more on the facts and laid them out so that the reader was like, "holy shit that IS bad," and it seemed to create more ripples. All that being said, I've read it a couple times now. [Edited on August 13, 2012 at 4:58 PM. Reason : .]
