what do you guys think about this one.....i'm playing live 3/6 limit in south tahoe, it's basically the only limit game they spread, and i like playing limit sometimes. i have been playing pretty tight, although for some reason people usually think i'm super aggressive. i'm co, villain is older asian lady directly to my right.villain is playing very tight, unimaginative poker. i've seen her bet twice, both times betting the turn with 2 pair. i've seen her check call with aces the whole way. i've also seen her rollover a rivered top 2 when it was pretty obvious to me that top two was way the best hand.the hand:i have qhqc 4 limpers, i raise, goes 6 handed to the flop.flop k82 all clubs. checks to me, i check figuring a king isn't gonna fold, and neither is the Ac.turn is 9c, checks to villain who bets.I????

Ok I can't get this out of my head and need some opinions on whether this was just a terrible play by me or if I was just donk-fucked. [WARNING TEXT]Little background: Just started playing online again about a month ago, put in $40, got my bankroll up to about $400 (minus $150 cash outs). Was just playing .10/.25 to get my feet wet and clean the rust off, and moved up to .25/.50 the other day. At a table yesterday I'm at about $46 ($50 is max), playing probably less than 10% of my hands, table image probably tight/aggressive. Get dealt 10's, and in mid position raise to $2, have 3 callers (2 behind, one in blind). Flop comes Kd-9d-4d. Checks to me, I bet out $4, have one caller behind me (who had about a $40 stack). I put him on K-Q, K-J, or Ad-x, thinking I can push him off the first 2 and if no diamond down to the river, push him off the Ad easily. Turn is a blank, I bet $12 (pots about $13 I believe), guy calls again. At this point I'm thinking he either has the Ad-x or K-Qd. River is another blank, and I lead out with $25 (to put him all in). I figure if he had A-K or set (didn't think he'd play the flush that way), then kudos to him and I get my just desserts for bluffing $45 the whole way. Kid calls me, shows K-Q off (no diamond). I would have been perfectly fine with him calling me with the A-K, or even K-Qd, but K-Q off with those bets?My whole night was pretty shitty, Aces in late position and the whole table would fold to me and min-raise would push the blinds off, etc etc (happened 3 times). As if it wasn't enough, playing another hand where I turn the nut flush, check it (decent sized pot at this point, however the turn was a 6 which paired the board). Didn't think he had a boat, maybe top pair top kicker. River is an 8, I lead out with $2 (was at a .10/.25 tables), kid reraises me to $6, and if I hadn't been having the night I was, I woulda pushed, but just had a shitty feeling so I called. What does he turn up? 8-8 for the boat. Aaaaaaaaand /rant.Coulda saved on the text by copying the hand history, but closed both tables while fuming and didn't think about it.[Edited on June 26, 2008 at 5:57 PM. Reason : k]

it happens, just gotta deal with those. I am still dealing with tilt issues from losing 4 dollar tournaments, haha. I got busted today with trip Qs(KQ vs his AQ), so I got in a 25 max table. I had 55 on BB, and a 55 cent raise came to me with one caller. I am thinking, 55, .55... what the hell. Best possible flop: 5A2. PF raiser bets a buck, caller raises to 5, i pot raise like a dumbass. original guy folds, caller tanks and pushes, shows AQ... easssssy money!my megatilt update: monday I started with $16.54, I have avoided megatilt for the most part. I did go to the 25 max table today, but I had my bearings. After tonight I am sitting at $102.something. I have found that I play my best poker with at least 4 budweisers under my belt... I guess I am just more laid back.
6/26/2008 9:31:45 PM
Why the hell would you push all in on the river? You said you put him on KQ. You really think he is going to fold top pair 2nd best kicker?
6/26/2008 9:33:10 PM
I just got dealt with with AQ. Did I have a choice to do something other that what I did? Clearly her limp (which she had been doing all night, and in fact, I made several stupid calls to this bitch just to see what she had according to how she was betting and she was aaaaaaaaallllllll over the fucking place) paid off. And if I did have a choice, I'll just blame it on, again, not wanting to sit there all night on a 1 dollar table when I've already placed. My pride was hurt a little because there was an Intellipoker guy still playing. Haha, oh, and my pairs comment. There was this rather loose cannon who dropped an overpair on a connected flop, bet HUGE into it; I mean, without reason huge, to somebody who caught the straight on the flop and he got took. I was able to profit off of this guy earlier on in a similar situation...
6/26/2008 9:56:15 PM
With regards to the KD 9D 4D flop hand....You raise to $2, which is a good raise IMO. But with 3 callers you will most likely need to improve your hand to win the pot. Your "informational bet" on the turn was IMO way too large. There are effective bets that are not the size of the pot. You have committed yourself to pushing on the river, in the mere hope that he was calling on a flush draw, because with a pot of $37ish there is no way he is folding top pair to a $25 bet.If it were me, I would have played it the same way as you except on the turn only bet $6, then when a "blank" came on the river I would have either bet out another small value bet or if it was checked to me just check it down (you never said what position you were in).

Lemme throw this out:Does anybody here play live SNGs regularly? I am kind of interested in doing something like this with a group; especially a group that knows how to play, albeit without large stakes because my bankroll sucks right now in other words i'm tired of asking my friends who have relatively little to no interest in playing or learning how to play poker...[Edited on June 26, 2008 at 10:09 PM. ^^^^^If someone as tight as I was playing is betting that hard at a board like that, I'm laying down K-Q every time, most likely on the turn (unless of course I've got the Qd). I guess my mistake was a betting pattern that would make ME lay the hand down, as opposed to a donk at a low limit table. (My suspicions were confirmed with how terrible this kid was after 30 minutes of watching him play terribly).^I play a few SNGs every day scrumples, but with a low bankroll, not very high stakes. I'm ncsuthedude on pstars if you wanna look me up. Although with losing about 25% of my bankroll the last 1.5 days, I'm probably gonna take a day or two off to get my mind right.

Surely you're not showing us the awesome hands you've won, and only the outliers, correct?
6/27/2008 9:07:02 PM
I haven't been on the good end of any hands like these in a while, and these aren't even 1/4 of what I've been seeing lately. Polluting this topic to vent I suppose. Just one of those ruts....
