Nah, don't think so.

I should have just pushed preflop here but I'm still pretty proud of this play. Probably wouldn't have done the same thing a few hundred tournaments ago.

He got his revenge. Guy got AA twice in 3 hands. The second one knocked out my JJ just 10 places from the money after I lost a big hand with AJ vs Q10 all in preflop.

I dunno Dave, you think I should have shoved those aces preflop? See, at this level, I think I probably would have gotten a call from those 6s regardless of shoving or just calling that all-in. It's a little tough to say...I personally wouldn't have called a gutshot with those 6s to go all-in, but I've certainly seen dumber shit happen at this level.

I usually hate getting top tier hands early on at this level, because they become huge liabilities. People are so fucking easy to call here, but one thing it's at least taught me, is to become a little more disciplined with such hands (in most cases...obviously not really with that hand above)...

bc the reason why i was going in the beginning was to help you guys buld a consistent group and of course to say hi and catch up. not to sound like whatever, but from a money making standpoint, id rather play online at the stakes I want or go to the one you know i play in from time to time and make $$$ instead of grinding only a couple hundred by playing solid over 4hrs.

its just the way it is now unfortunately

i'll try to stop by once or twice every few months though i promise bc i still <3 u guys

Are you being serious? I can't tell. And I don't know. I don't think in that situation I could've got those 6s off by going all in, but it's hard to tell. I don't run into those situations frequently.

I don't think calling is bad, but it depends on your read on the players behind you. You have the short stack dominated, but I still wouldn't want to go up against more than 2 players.

Well, it was more about not expecting people to stay in with a 28x blind raise. The kings, why not? But fucking 6s? It was very early in the hand. And yes, in retrospect, an all-in would've been the best option but I still hold that I dunno if I could have gotten rid of the sixes if you're fucking stupid enough to call with those in the first place.

if my aces loses to a pair of 6's, it's just not my tournament. don't worry about it. You could make an argument for calling with aces. Thats the only hand I would call with...but yeah, generally pushing and avoiding the situation all together is the simplest and best thing to do.

this might be completely out of line, but i would think you're less likely to see that situation in say a 100+10 or even a 10+1 vs 1 + .20. I guess though, it's all relative when those same people pay you off the majority of the time.

I usually play stakes higher than my bankroll suggests, but sometimes I will catch myself playing horrible poker at the lower low limits. I never really did that play money to micro to low to medium deal, I threw 100 bones in party poker and grinded a bonus out 4 tabling .10/.25. (albeit still a very low limit) I cannot even describe how tight and nervous I played though. Probably folded everything but group 1

70 + 20 s/h so far for the new set of NJs with 12.5hrs to go. I put 300pc instead of just '300' so im probably losing out on some views

Also, do you ever try the 2.20 satellites to sunday hundred grand? I cannot remember who recommended it earlier in the thread, but the games are usually really easy to cash in on and you can unregister from the 100 Grand (no one plays it anyway, donkfest) and get 11 tournament dollars to play any sit and gos you want. I like to think it helps me with my MTT play, but who am i kidding at that level.

(Usually 100 players and top 25-30 win the $T and the game ends)

Bodog has "beginner" s&g's where half of the players make the money instead of 30%. If you're looking for a competitive game, you'd be better off winning a few play money games and playing for high stakes play money than those $1. People just don't give a shit in those.
