Your excited sarcasm routine needs some work.

it's no routine, brother!i took off my Herb-colored glasses after last season. i'm on the Sid wagon now!

Case in point, it was tolerable when you were a fatass because everyone laughs at the fat guy, now its just sad.[Edited on July 5, 2010 at 2:34 PM. Reason : f]

7/5/2010 2:34:06 PM
i couldve sworn we reached the 20-win plateau just last seasonoh well, at least Sid was the starting PG on our national championship game
7/5/2010 2:41:52 PM
Lowe won 20 games in a season twice, which is what pissed me off about the article.
7/5/2010 3:04:42 PM
just noticed Ben McCauley in this NBA Summer League game, he's rocking some sort of ridiculous Anderson Varejao style fronot a good look
7/5/2010 3:46:49 PM
His Lowe ever won 20 games in a regular season? I don't know but that might be what they are referring to?
7/5/2010 3:54:03 PM
When has that ever been the emphasis on measuring wins in a season? No, Miss Tke, they just made a mistake.
7/5/2010 4:00:40 PM
Sid Hater exposed!!!
7/5/2010 4:02:08 PM
Burn him! I'm really just uber sensitive over anything related to Herb, as he is easily the most overrated coach in the country. ZERO significant accomplishments in almost 20 years of coaching, a notch or two below the likes of Dave Odom, Cliff Ellis, and Paul Hewitt.[Edited on July 5, 2010 at 4:14 PM. Reason : f]
7/5/2010 4:03:23 PM
I don't really buy the 20 win plateau as a good indicator of success, but if you're going to bring it up at least do some fucking research.
7/5/2010 4:31:04 PM
Hewitt got to the Final Four, and then won a gameHerb has one Sweet 16 for his entire career]
7/5/2010 4:34:00 PM
That is why I stated Herb is a notch or two below him.
7/5/2010 4:35:33 PM
he's like 3-4 notches below him imodoesnt really matter though
7/5/2010 4:37:34 PM
I would take Herb over Hewitt any day of the week (and twice on sundays). At least Herb isn't going to tell opposing fans to "Shut the fuck up!" because they are taunting a player on his team who is literally retarded.
7/5/2010 5:01:11 PM
i look at it like this:A) 5 year span: 5 NCAA tourney appearances, made one Sweet 16B) 5 year span: 2-3(?) NCAA tourney appearances, played in the National Championship gameI'm taking B all daycoaching ability + recruiting ability = results]
7/5/2010 5:03:37 PM
Herb is an exercise in futility. His entire career has been one long running joke.No one gets more from less and less from more.Having Herb as a coach is like simulating the season. You know what's going to happen, why even bother watching...
7/6/2010 12:28:53 AM
Meh, Hewitt got lucky that year. IMO, he's a horrible coach. Herb isn't great, but he's better than Paul. He pretty much owned Georgia Tech over the years when they went head to head.

Marshall Plumlee committed to Duke today. Big surprise, I know. Whatever, I think Uchebo is better anyways.

Will this hurt the way Lowe is trying to revolutionize recruiting?http://msn.foxsports.com/collegebasketball/story/NCAA-examining-ban-of-early-scholarship-offers-071210
7/12/2010 4:08:09 PM
Ideally we'll start winning some fucking games this season and won't need to be the first to offer them. Also saying that Lowe revolutionized recruiting by offering kids their sophomore year is laughable. [Edited on July 12, 2010 at 4:12 PM. Reason : .]
7/12/2010 4:11:47 PM
I dont think so...whether a scholarship is offered or not, they still remember the first guy to come watch them play or show interest in them^and that[Edited on July 12, 2010 at 4:12 PM. Reason : .]
7/12/2010 4:12:13 PM
Lowe didn't revolutionize recruiting. He just happens to be a really, really good talent evaluator. That's why if he'd been a college assistant for a few years instead of in the NBA then maybe he wouldn't have had to build so many AAU contacts. I don't think this hurts Lowe at all, he can still get in with them early and if we can win and the program back to where it used to be then he can get in late with some guys and still get them.

The man has passion to play. I like him already. Put him on the list, and if he performs and a scholarship opens up, give it to him. It's not often you see players with a character like that.

Anyone want to drop any hints as to who we're looking at for 2011? We have a ton of ships open and not a lot of free info out there.

Lebron James

^ i heard from IC that he talked to Marvin Austin's agent and therefore doesn't have any eligibility remaining

The staff is just evaluating right now for the most part. They are a little behind on the 2011 class after the work the 2010 class took. From what I keep reading, it is looking like they will take 1 or 2 more after Uchebo and load up on the 2012 class. Here are some names I keep seeing:2011Tyler Harris - http://westvirginia.scout.com/a.z?s=159&p=8&c=1&nid=3906317Chris Wilson - http://florida.scout.com/a.z?s=168&p=8&c=1&nid=4722353Ryan Boatright - http://hsillinois.scout.com/a.z?s=220&p=8&c=1&nid=3203612Derrick Henry - http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=4984953CJ Blackwell - http://hsgeorgia.scout.com/a.z?s=37&p=8&c=1&nid=5063363Jerome Seagers - http://florida.scout.com/a.z?s=168&p=8&c=1&nid=47223532012Montrezl Harrell - http://hsnorthcarolina.scout.com/a.z?s=404&p=8&c=1&nid=4358055Tyler Lewis - http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=4256950Chuck Mitchel - http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=4008445James Robinson - http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=4430218TJ Warren - http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=4358044[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 7:28 PM.
