Haha, Adam and Joe pushing the "What doesn't UNC want us to know?" angle with the Drew Davis, appeasing the Davis family to keep things quiet.

6/26/2012 4:53:43 PM

6/26/2012 4:55:04 PM
Former Cincy Cavalier star, dumbass.
6/26/2012 5:04:49 PM
Isn't that Mike Daugherty, current Indy Car pit crew chief?
6/26/2012 5:11:17 PM
I though we were talking about Peter Doherty, singer for the Libertines.

But honestly, I don't think butch was the root problem at unc, as this academic bullshit is showing. it's just harder to run a tight ship and not let details of shady shit out with 100 guys on your team as opposed to 12.

If this were to happen at any other school in NC, the hammer of God would drop and crush the souls of the school and athletes. Documents and records from decades ago would just miraculously show up, investigations would be thoourogh and swift, and the media would have a field day.But since it happened to them, I guess the everyone is expected to kinda shrug it off and move along. That is what makes me angry.[Edited on July 8, 2012 at 9:51 AM. Reason : .]

LOIC doesn't accurately portray what's going on over there. The institution is in full control of the cheating

Damn why did I not read this today. Holden sat right in front of me all day long at a damn meeting. I really would have loved to ask him if he had read the Sunday N&O.

This thread is starting to wear thin. I just want to know what the NCAA thinks of all this and are they actively investigating.

Martin, what are the radio hosts saying? Need to get the real scoop here.
7/10/2012 12:34:01 PM
All the radio guys are unc-ch journalism majors. No way they will talk about this. :putsontinfoilhat:
7/10/2012 2:42:34 PM
^^^So there's an actual ongoing investigation then? From people that matter? From my perspective it seems like the newspapers are desperately trying to get someone's attention but no one seems to care. Sprinkle in an "internal investigation" performed by UNC, for UNC and that about sums it up.
7/10/2012 3:17:35 PM
SBI is conducting a criminal probe of D'r. N'yang'o'ro and the BOG appointed a 4-member committee to review the UNC internal report. That committee will probably recommend launching a full investigation since it has become so apparent that UNC's report was spin and damage control. Also, the NCAA should revisit the campus, but no word on that yet.[Edited on July 10, 2012 at 3:50 PM. I hate that EVERY article mentions that NC State was in a similar situation a long time ago and it "led to the departures of coach Jim Valvano and Chancellor Bruce Poulton."It's like every time an article comes out the author is saying, "UNC is in the shit, remember when NCSU was in the shit like this a long time ago?"It feels a lot like pointing fingers.
7/10/2012 4:03:01 PM
Just wish the UNC student body was forced to read these articles every day. If only they could read.
7/10/2012 4:15:45 PM
^^ i don't mind it, except that they usually fail to mention that the NCAA found no major infractions and even the allegations weren't even remotely on the same plane as what's already been proven in evidence with what's going on at UNCCH with regards to both athletics -and- academics

WHATISTHISIDONTEVEN...http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8143772/college-football-most-underrated-coaching-jobs-nation"North Carolina: UNC is always going to be a basketball school, but there's no reason its football program shouldn't thrive in the ACC. North Carolina is one of the top academic schools in the country, and recruiting players to picturesque Chapel Hill shouldn't be difficult. There's a lot of room for growth in the ACC, and teams can move up the pecking order quickly with a couple of good seasons. New Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora will have to overcome NCAA sanctions in the beginning, however."
7/11/2012 9:47:44 AM
It's obvious the people who write those stories don't really put effort into them. They regurgitate the same tired perceptions that they've had about schools for years.
7/11/2012 10:27:00 AM
"North Carolina: UNC is always going to be a basketball school, but there's no reason its football program shouldn't thrive in the ACC. You won't need book smarts to remain academically eligible at North Carolina and the pine trees in Chapel Hill are quite the sight to behold. There's a lot of room for growth in the ACC, and teams can move up the pecking order quickly with a couple of good seasons. New Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora will have to overcome NCAA sanctions in the beginning, but the state's Board of Governors has his back."
