Article from the WSJ (winston-salem) about Uchebo:http://www2.journalnow.com/content/2010/jun/09/future-wolfpack-player-uchebo-could-become-an-acc-/sports-college/

^^yep...and supposedly he'll be their AD also
6/9/2010 7:04:57 PM
...of uchebo....
6/9/2010 10:13:33 PM
JT graduating and leaving?
6/9/2010 10:14:46 PM
damn Johnny Thomas is peacing out
6/9/2010 10:15:36 PM
i think sidney may change recruiting for everyone. he has shown that a school that has been pretty shitty lately can recruit with the big names (particularly callipari [that dirtbag]) simply by spotting their talent way before everyone else and sticking with them from the beginning.
6/9/2010 10:22:34 PM
yup, thats a truly revolutionary approach that has never been done before
6/9/2010 10:25:00 PM
so that opens up ANOTHER scholly?
6/9/2010 10:26:35 PM
Damn, we're starting to look thin on depth as far as practice goes. One person gets hurt and we're going to have to rely on walk-ons just to play five-on-five.
6/9/2010 10:38:04 PM
I feel like 99% of these recruiting "experts" just see that Uchebo is a tall african and say he's raw with upside without ever actually watching him play. If his name was Joe Howell we might get some actual reports on himas for Thomas, I think it's a net-zero. There was some potential he might one day be at least a halfway useful player (he'd still have two years provided he was rewarded a medical redshirt correct?) with the flashes of his rebounding and mid-range jumper, but as of now all this does is stop Lowe from being tempted to play too many guys. Between Leslie, Wood, Williams and Brown we have enough options on the wing that worrying about injuries should only come into play if we switch back to LA Gear. Since he graduated, I see no downside
6/9/2010 10:45:23 PM
That sucks that Thomas may leave after he graduates. I'd like to have him back simply for depth. I was all for Mays leaving, but I hate that Davis is gone. Wonder if Will Roach can come back.......
6/9/2010 10:53:06 PM
hopefully we get some baller walk-ons

Man, I was the #1 member of the Jumpin' Johnny Thomas fan club
6/10/2010 8:00:37 AM
CJ Williams just became that much more important. With Johnny gone, that leaves us only 5 scholarship guards on the roster. Count on at least one of them getting injured at some point during the season, and our depth is looking pretty bad.
6/10/2010 10:34:49 AM
Wait... You've lost me with some of these names. Can I get a recap of what we're talking about now?
6/10/2010 11:04:11 AM
yeah but johnny really wasn't a guardand cj wants to play the 3 really bad anyhow
6/10/2010 11:12:21 AM
wow, this new WSJ article says Uchebo was dismissed from Oak Ridge. I wonder what happened.http://www2.journalnow.com/content/2010/jun/10/nc-state-recruit-uchebo-dismissed-oak-ridge-team/sports/

ESPN is saying Izzo is leaning towards Cleveland. I wonder if Sid could vulcher some of his recruits if Izzo does split.http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=9&c=8&cfg=bb&toinid=409&sspid=-1&yr=2010

DSN reporting that Sidney Lowe may bolt for Mich St pending Izzo leaves ... ties to the state of Michigan include his time as an assistant coach in Detroit

LOL, bullshit.

DSN reports Coach K spotted in the triangle area ... potentially a replacement for Sidney Lowe at NCSUthis just in: Roy Williams also seen in the triangle ... can only mean that he will be brought onto Coach K's staff as an assistant coach and recruiting leader at NCSU[Edited on June 10, 2010 at 12:43 PM. Lol, dweedle. I am interested to see what happens with MSU's recruits though. We've definitely got enough room to take a shot at at least one of them, even if he's a project. Of course that would all depend on Izzo taking the Cleveland job AND MSU releasing the players from their LOI's.

stan kowaleski is sketchy. i know nothing about this situation but I wouldnt be surprised if it's something small and that jackass is just being petty

Dickie V keeps proclaiming that regardless of the Izzo to Cleveland talks, he will be staying at MSU

haha I've been doing some email correspondence today with some lady named Tracy Smith
6/11/2010 2:26:58 PM
I wonder if Lowe finds another Josh Davis-caliber local kid. Or a grad school transfer.

Still got a solid 10 man rotation next year, even with Thomas, Davis, and Mays departing.PG: Harrow, JaviSG: Brown, CJWSF: CJL, WoodPF: Howell, PainterC: Smith, Vandy

What is your dream recruiting class for 2011? Here's mine:PG: CookSF: HarrisPF: LawsonC: Uchebo

I don't understand why people are still inserting Howell into the starting lineup, leaving our most dangerous deep threat worthless on the bench (nonetheless, a starter from last year). I know Howell came on strong last year, but he's the same build as Smith. Why not have him relieve Smith off the bench and keep a fresh heavy body on the court at all times? Here's my rotation:PG: Harrow, JaviSG: Brown, CJWSF: Wood, CJWPF: CJL, PainterC: Smith, Howell, Vandy

I think people are putting Howell and Smith on the court together after seeing how well our rebounding was when both were in at the same time.
6/11/2010 9:11:07 PM
Plus, Howell is a 4. CJ is better suited for the 3. CJ is ~185 pounds so you'd prefer to not have him anchoring your frontline, but rather have him on the wing where he can excel
6/11/2010 10:43:56 PM
pretty sure i read (could have just been packpride) that cj projects as an nba 3 and one of the selling factors was lowe told him we'd play him at 3 while uk has a thin frontcourt and had to play him at 4
6/12/2010 12:58:15 AM
CJ Leslie can play in the front court if needed. He's closer to 210 than he is to 185.
6/12/2010 10:30:10 AM
i thought tracy wasn't playing center this year
6/13/2010 9:42:21 AM
^thats gotta be mostly posturing. No way we always have either Vandy or Painter on the floor at all times when we have so much PF talent...
