8-5, 4-4. Wasn’t pretty but overall a fine season. Would probably feel a lot better had we beaten VT. That L stings. Duke game was there for the taking too, but at least Duke was a solid team. VT loss was just bad.

Onto the portal season I guess. Who’s coming back? Idk maybe nobody!

I have no inside information, but given the early portal news around QBs, I am not optimistic Bailey will be staying. I saw one article saying that the Sorsby guy from Cinci (who is roughly the same level as Bailey stat-wise) is "reportedly" getting multiple $4mil offers.

I just hope he doesn't end up on a team we have to play next year. Would be some real NC State shit to finally make the ACC championship game just to run into the meat grinder of a CJ Bailey lead Miami.

Credit to just how great college football is overall and can’t stop watching but whatever this is flat out sucks. The whole setup is garbage, makes no sense, lacks transparency. Doesn’t matter because ratings only go up and money goes on forever, but not much fun being a fan at the moment. People running the sport make few good decisions but it’s such a juggernaut doesn’t matter.

Noah Rogers and Terrell Anderson are in the portal.

Not sure if it was a scheme thing or what. But never felt like our WRs were as good as they could’ve/should’ve been. It certainly was not a weakness like in recent years. But none of those guys proved to be real game changers. They showed flashes and were a clear upgrade over the Dacari Collins, Bradley Rozner era. We still have Hoffman and Keenan Jackson back (for now) and Jonathan Paylor was a highly regarded recruit as a WR/RB.

Idk if it’s fair to read anything into it re: CJB returning or not.

Maybe CJ is still negotiating with State. And we’ve decided to offer him a bigger package and not have as much money to go around for WRs. Or yeah, maybe he’s gone. But I don’t think they’re necessarily related.

Transfer portal is even worse than NFL because at least free agents sign multi year deals in nfl. In college now it is one year and gone. Basically all about the team each year now and not about knowing any players. Hard to get as attached when it is totally new players. I will still watch but don’t like it as much.
