In all practical terms, you're right, it doesn't make one bit of a difference, but daave is a far left radical socialist that does more to undermine and harm the progressive movement than he does to help since he incessantly regurgitates extremely biased/one-sided talking points. Shit's weak and annoying.

The semester is OVER and I won't have shit to do all day but fear for my life until summer school starts, but I do I have some things I'd like to say about our current "Preisident', Joel o'Biden. As a "radical centrist,' fearfully living in the *Oakland/SF Bay Area* amidst a plague, no...epidemic (pandemic?) of chaos and senseless rassist gun violence [NOTE: attacks on Asian and Asian American citizens are no joke, yo], I feel the need to chime in. Or, opine if you will since we're being academic , and give 'ole sleepy Joel Biden an honest report card.*--a land plagued with more gun violence per capita than Gaza where that fucker daaaaaave would consider a statistically [CITATION FROM A SCHOLARLY SOURCE NEEDED!!) comparable war zone, [DELETE/REVISE/EMBARRASSING???] that's basically an apartheid cesspool if you wanna think about it. I mean it is, so the fuck what? Fuck Isreal. Yeah, I said it. Wanna fight about it?!OK, ok so On the one hand he's got Covid right by the balls like he likes 'em. 50% nationwide vax rate aint no joke yall,. And did he catch covid or not like that total loser Trump? HUH?DID HE!? [DELETE{On the other one he's a boring centrist piece of shit thats gonna let Putin take Belarus and the Youuuukraine and China take *Mynamwar [*BURMA, go with BURMA easier spell) and fuckin Taiwain because he's in bed with the Israelis' AND the Bolsanaros.Anyway, C+

Not really sure why parents would want to put their children in a school/church where they weren't wanted.Unless they're just trying to make headlines.

Can we get some student debt cancellation up in this motherfucker?
7/28/2021 5:40:57 PM
^While I agree that it's super important (and FWIW I have quite a bit of debt myself), the pause on payments doesn't end until October 1. It would be great if he just went ahead and cancelled it today, but he can extend it again later, and he probably will until January 2022 at the earliest (just a guess). Right now, I think mandating the vaccine and passing infrastructure are more dire, as shitty as that sounds.
7/28/2021 8:08:48 PM
I would hope we could expect the president and their massive staff to be able to multi-task
7/29/2021 7:03:14 AM
These things are highly intricate and any additional topic requires added focus that distracts from completing an existing priority either timely, well, or both. I'd rather have a candidate who focused hard on doing a few things well and quickly rather than be all over the place and ineffective. One can only fight on so many fronts.

If our massive government can only focus on one issue at a time maybe I'm an advocate for small government.I guarantee the administration is currently working on more than Infrastructure and vaccine mandates. They haven't out out a student loans EO bc they don't want to.
7/29/2021 11:45:18 AM
7/29/2021 11:48:28 AM
Disagree that it's because they don't want to and would counter that it is the issue is not a priority as compared to other things, such as lifting people (largely women of color) out of poverty to provide them and their descendants more opportunity and reducing carbon emissions, so we have a planet several years from now. This isn't hard to imagine and the policies implemented touch so many areas that it's necessary to account for what would turn out to be unintended consequences. Unintended consequences can both reduce the effectiveness of a policy and create barriers to passing legislation.
7/30/2021 11:38:49 AM
He already cancelled a small amount of debt, so it's clearly not an issue of priorities. He can cancel more with the stroke of a pen. Also black women hold more debt on average, by quite a bit, than any other race/gender combination. It's weird that you brought up two things that they're also doing jack shit about[Edited on July 30, 2021 at 12:55 PM. Reason : .]
7/30/2021 12:55:14 PM
Could do with a stroke of a pen, but that could also impact congress' willingness to collaborate on other legislation. I shouldn't have to explain this, but priorities are layered and sequenced rather than all or none. One can say that they absolutely need x to be addressed in a particular agenda item but view the marginal return on anything past that part as not worth it and thus continuing to invest in that effort is no longer a priority. By definition, removing student debt is relatively (as compared to overall poverty and impact on affording basic needs between college debt holders vs the fundamentally impoverished) low compared to helping the generally impoverished. Seems to me Biden has his eyes on larger impact (the impoverished and planet) rather than marginal returns in areas where he has already made improvements. Interesting that you say Biden isn't doing jack in those areas. I'd conclude that the increased child credits, increased minimum wage for certain employees and the other proposed investments within the infrastructure plan (childcare, education affordance, broadband access, etc) and the reconciliation plans specifically help POC, especially women. I'd also reason that the infrastructure plan and reconciliation, with their focus on charging stations, green credits, investment in climate science, etc, are directly aimed at saving a struggling planet. Can you back up your assertion that he isn't doing jack in these areas in light of these items where the administration is spending considerable time, effort, and political capital to achieve?
