Two 70+ folks can run this country? I bet on Ted Cruz or Sarah Parlin.
7/12/2016 4:57:42 PM
I bet it will be newt. Trump's advisors will say all the other more practical and pragmatic choices and Trump's gonna "go with his gut" and pick newt. Since newt has gone up against the Clintons before and both campaigns can use nostalgia from the 90s.
7/12/2016 7:32:20 PM
Newt is the only one that makes sense to accept since it is basically political suicide and he doesn't really have much farther to fall
7/12/2016 8:18:29 PM
OK. VP final list reveals. Mike Pence and Newt
7/12/2016 11:11:10 PM
He turned down the invitation to speak at the NAACP convention happening right down the road from the Republican convention. Good move or bad? Is this some kind of subtle nod to his white supremacist supporters? Or does he just know that it won't matter, as previous candidates have attended and still lost the general.
7/13/2016 7:34:31 AM
Wow I figured u just attend that meeting and then u win the general. Who knew?
7/13/2016 8:14:05 AM
this fucking guy
7/13/2016 10:12:24 AM
the new york freakin times editorial board sides with trump on this one thohttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/13/opinion/donald-trump-is-right-about-justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg.html
7/13/2016 10:26:44 AM
Well I guess we can stop pretending like Supreme Court justices are politically neutral now. I'm sure everyone will be shocked by this recent revelation.
7/13/2016 10:38:31 AM
Yeah Scalia had me totally convinced that Supreme Court justices are politically neutral[Edited on July 13, 2016 at 11:11 AM. Reason : VV definitely I can't disagree with that. but that response. SAD!]
7/13/2016 11:00:09 AM
or how about when Alito "spoke" out against Obama and his words on Citizens United during a SOTU?
7/13/2016 11:01:06 AM
^^ not defending that by any means but I think it is poor form to speak out against a candidate during the election. We shouldn't have presidential candidates essentially endorsed by a Supreme Court justice.
7/13/2016 11:06:22 AM
^^ liberals and democrats were pretty unhappy with alito saying "not true" at the sotu and that seems much smaller than thisjust because there isn't anything that says a supreme court justice can't make statements about a political race doesn't mean that its something that should be welcomed
7/13/2016 11:15:00 AM
More like, President Donald Trump shouldn't be welcomed, amirite?[Edited on July 13, 2016 at 1:53 PM. Reason : ]
7/13/2016 1:52:58 PM
There's movement on the idea that it's the Republican party pushing Gingrich so when Trump does something to get impeached, they have their oldschool (safe) Vice President.
7/13/2016 5:30:20 PM
Lol when
7/13/2016 5:57:36 PM
It's happening, guys. 538 has Trump closing the gap.
7/14/2016 10:51:38 AM
7/14/2016 11:19:27 AM
^^ ha, there's still a huge gap. And the current polls won't capture a bernie bump, if any.Interesting though that being exonerated by the FBI made Hillary's numbers worse. Completely counterintuitive...[Edited on July 14, 2016 at 11:20 AM. Reason : ]
7/14/2016 11:19:56 AM
^^^ To be fair, there are Trump ads being ran, but not paid for by the campaign. I've seen one by the NRA and one by a superpac so far. [Edited on July 14, 2016 at 11:23 AM. Reason : a]
7/14/2016 11:23:33 AM
The polls will always be behind the latest news but the jump he has made recently is pretty big, Nate Silver even said as much
7/14/2016 11:25:51 AM
I imagine if Clinton can survive this dip after her horrendous week last week she is in good shape. But it has been a pretty stark reversal. Curious if any of these captured Sanders endorsement? And lol at Rasmussen again..

7/14/2016 3:15:41 PM
^ wait, what?until July 12 it was 82/18 for clinton, and now two days later it is 54/46?
7/14/2016 3:18:51 PM
^^ not really. Clinton has as bad a week as you can have. She was literally called out by the head of the FBI for being untrustworthy. Was always going to fall hard in polling.I'd be worried if this holds up through the two conventions.
7/14/2016 3:31:08 PM
It's still early. Four months roughly before the final result comes out.
7/14/2016 4:18:20 PM
Awful pick for a running mate. Trump could've done so much bettter
7/14/2016 4:42:46 PM
Like who?
7/14/2016 4:49:08 PM
Newt would've been 10x better. Pence is a washed up homophobe
7/14/2016 5:16:35 PM
And Newt isn't washed up?
7/14/2016 5:20:46 PM
> 57 y/o sitting Governor = Washed up> 73 y/o ex-congressman, out of politics for nearly 20 years = Man for the job
7/14/2016 5:25:30 PM
Pence was his best choice. Most people don't know who he is, so it won't cause any shift in the polls. And then he can just define himself however he needs to.
7/14/2016 7:18:45 PM
Plenty of people know who he is and the fact that he signed off on that retarded bill, and then pussed out and signed the amended new version. I don't see how this helps him one bit.
7/14/2016 7:54:45 PM
So someone, possibly newt, leaked a letter where the GOP is 6 million short on convention costs. Trump postponing his press announcement about vp pick on basis, ostensibly, of nice attack.
7/14/2016 8:16:55 PM
Trump should cut a check for the $6 million himself. He'll easily make the money back when he makes America so fucking great that we'll be tired of all the winning.
7/14/2016 9:45:50 PM
^ 10/10
7/14/2016 10:26:29 PM
When you have to pick a running mate just in hopes of getting support of your own party you know you are in bad shape. The fact this race is even slightly up for debate shows just how awful Hillary is as well to most people. If either side could have thrown out any half decent candidate it would be over already but instead we somehow ended up with this shit show.
7/15/2016 8:38:17 AM
yeah trump is only person in country hillary could beat
7/15/2016 8:55:21 AM
I actually think she could have beaten a number of the clowns the GOP rolled out in the primary. But not Rubio or Kasich.
7/15/2016 8:58:18 AM
I think she would have crushed Cruz. Out of the choices that seemed legit I feel like Rubio would have had the easiest run
7/15/2016 1:16:10 PM
lol beatsunc with his "only person in [the] country"]
