Ok, so a serious mod/enhancement suggestion this time...So they have the favorites menu. In addition to what is already there I'd like to have a custom list favorites, so if I select "Archer" it would set me up with the bow and swap out pieces of armor to the ones with +damage with bow enhanced items, I select "Sneak" and it sets me up with a dagger, light armor and/or any amulet that helps me sneak, etc. etc. That way I could make one selection from the menu instead of making 4 every time I want to swap out a set of things to do a particular task. And just to be clear you would give the set a name and select which pieces belonged to the set.[Edited on December 2, 2011 at 7:29 PM. Reason : -]

I just beat the main questline. I didn't take a single point of damage during the final battle. I was a bit disappointed with that, but getting there wasn't a cakewalk, so I suppose that was the challenge. Ended up having to leave behind probably ~50k worth of Ebony armor and weapons coming up to the final battle because I couldn't carry all my stuff and had 18 dragon bones and 16 scales and didn't want to leave any of those behind. Ended up as a level 50 Pure Tank. 100 levels on Smithing, Heavy Armor, Two Handed Weapons, Speechcraft, and Block, 96 on Lockpicking, and 75 on Archery. Most everything else is still around the starting level. Things I never did in this game: Use MagicDrink a PotionPickpocket anyoneSteal anything (except for the items required to join the Thieves Guild)Enchant anythingFire an arrow (leveled up to 75 with trainers only)Create a potionEat an ingredient or food of any kindBlock with a shieldBlock with my sword except for when I leveled up to 100 by going out and standing in front of a giant for half an hourSwung a one handed weaponIf it's not obvious, I prefer to play the extreme side of one aspect of the game. I will probably wait a few months and start all over again as a Pure mage and never swing a sword/wear armor/etc. Now on to all the side missions I missed. ]

So here's the deal....magic is for suckers.I have a magic spec and played a good portion of the game trying to be some sort of badass wizard dude. I was constantly getting my ass kicked and realized I could do 5x more damage with a bow than any destruction spell in the game. So, yeah, don't waste your time with magic. It doesn't scale well at all.On an unrelated note, Lydia finally kicked the bucket and I don't give enough of a shit to go back to an earlier save and get her back. Any recommendations for another follower? I'm about to finish the main quest so I can quit playing this game and resume living my life.

Really? That sucks. I just know that I want to do my 2nd playthrough as completely non-physical as possible. Figure I'll try the other extreme.
12/3/2011 1:27:11 AM
ive read destruction doesnt scale well but other stuff like conjuration is the tits
12/3/2011 1:34:33 AM
I cannot find the Notched Pickaxe. Google results all say "go to the top of the TotW."I cannot find the pathway to do that. Anyone else?
12/3/2011 1:45:11 AM
Yeah, I just started my second character. I'm rocking destruction magic right now and leveling conjuration so I can summon multiple daedra later on.And I just found an awesome alteration spell that turns iron ore to silver ore, and silver ore to gold ore. I definitely could have used that on my main character. I think he's carrying around 30lbs of gems.
12/3/2011 9:10:03 AM
The one thing this game doesn't have (compared to Oblivion) is NUMBER of spells you can cast. For instance:Touch: Flames/Frostbite/SparksTarget: Firebolt/Ice Spike/Lightning BoltTrap: Fire Rune/Frost Rune/Lightning RuneOr am I just not high enough level to see/buy the other higher level spells?
12/3/2011 9:38:58 AM
^^I have that spell as well, its pretty awesome. I use it to level Blacksmithing, since jewel crafting gives fairly good skill ups as well. My problem though is that you run out of vendors who will buy jewelry at a good price...all I know of is the mage in Dragonsreach. I guess I could travel with a few pounds of jewelry ready to sell

Does not work. Do you have to start from the courtyard? Or do you have to have crossed the gap which I haven't done yet.
12/3/2011 11:31:19 AM
Have you located Throat of the World on your map yet? You have to pass that section that requires the storm clearing shout to at least get that far. There's a section that icy wind prevents you from traversing from that courtyard. You have to clear that entire section first, get to TotW, then make your own path to get to the very peak.[Edited on December 3, 2011 at 11:37 AM. Reason : -]

Something is wrong.Since yesterday, when I installed 4.00 on my PS3, my game will let me play for about 2 minutes. Whenever I would change locations, it would freeze in the loading screen.

Another life, then.
12/3/2011 1:34:33 PM
Yeah, once you reach a certain level in restoration, destruction, etc., the spells become available from vendors.

maybe he can frame it, put a doubloon behind it, and hide it in his attic for his kid to find and give it to his overweight pal to hold and break

Found my first sleeping Blood Dragon. Two backstab swipes with my Blade of Woe and he's done. Were I wearing the DB gloves, would have been one and done.

Okay...this is getting me mad.Going into Azura's Star, I have to kill a guy that is being defended by three Dremora, all of them toss fire at me. After going in the first time and getting hammered, I put on a necklace with 40% fire resistance, a ring with 15% fire resistance, and Otar with 30% fire resistance. Then, I drink a potion worth 30% fire resistance for 60 seconds.Math = 115% fire resistanceI go in, kill the guy, and keep getting hammered by the Dremora with their fire. I'm in there less than 60 seconds, but their fire keeps burning me.WTF?
12/4/2011 12:14:19 PM
isn't there some bug where the resistances don't work right? (post-patch)haven't really noticed it, but yea that quest was tough.
12/4/2011 12:24:27 PM
Azure's star is a PITA. All three Dremora aren't suppose to attack you at the same time, and the final guy you are suppose to fight in the large room at the bottom of the "stairs" However, the script bugs out and you usually have to fight him and/or all three Dremora at the same time, and as you have seen, they hit very hard.
12/4/2011 12:28:34 PM
You can get around the dialogue at the beginning (just keep hitting exit), and he'll still be right in front of you when you attack him. If you are quick enough, you can kill him with a few blows. But the Dremora are still there.I've tried going up close, but the bug you mentioned makes the other two attack me.I've tried a staff and that doesn't work.I may just give up trying to kill them to get their hearts and just wait it out until I'm back outside.
12/4/2011 12:32:05 PM
Do two-handed buffs work for dual-wielding or is just for greatswords and such?
12/4/2011 1:02:30 PM
for some reason Azura's star wasn't too rough for mebut Otar was a complete dick, holy fuck.[Edited on December 4, 2011 at 1:39 PM. Reason : black star FTMFW]
12/4/2011 1:39:41 PM
^^ One handed buffs increase dual wielding
12/4/2011 2:07:40 PM
Okay...Azura's Star.Sanguine Rose in Left Hand, Staff of Ice Storms in Right Hand.Cake.
12/4/2011 2:57:20 PM
anyone tried those destruction mods and find them to be really overpowered, or do they actually correctly balance destruction?
12/4/2011 3:17:00 PM
I've used 2 of them. One of them was overpowered, another one was really balanced. Can't remember which I'm using now.But really you should only install it at late game because destruction is already really powerful at low levels, and any mod making destruction more powerful will make lower levels a breeze.
12/4/2011 3:32:37 PM
Getting tired of the Daedric Princes wanting me to kill innocent ppl.
12/4/2011 4:05:45 PM
So the first character was a one handed shield user. I split the level up bonuses such that I had close to 100 magic, 400 health, and 300 stamina by the time I did the last quest. Now I want to do a sneak archer/conjurer, maybe some destruction mixed in but I hear that's worthless late game. How should I split up the level bonuses. I can already tell that I'll probably need robes so no armor. I guess that equals health, but I do want to sneak so I hopefully won't be getting hit very much. I know I'll have to go heavy magic, so maybe 400 magic, 300 health, 100 stamina? Just looking for some recommendations.I know some of those apprentice spells required more magic to cast than my other character even had, so maybe 400 isn't enough?
12/4/2011 5:36:47 PM
More magicka[Edited on December 4, 2011 at 6:48 PM. Reason : You will be able to get +magicka items but I'd say 250 health at most.]
12/4/2011 6:47:33 PM
i went full plate with 2hand weapons. although i did have fun dual wielding dragonbane in one hand and dawnbreaker in the other. dawnbreaker is a beast of a sword.finished the main questline and now im done until january when they implement some quest fixes that have my game all fucked up.
12/4/2011 7:40:21 PM
Thanks for the clarification. I ended up finding some necklace of extreme one-handed or w/e that gives +35% damage to one handed weapons, so now dual wielding does a ton of damage.I gotta say, its getting annoying that a lot of the loot now is glass and ebony - level 35. Everything is worth taking but it all weighs so much. I'm also noticing that Lydia is starting to get beat down a lot faster now in battle...might need to switch her out for a new follower who will be closer to my levelThis link has some funny shit, credit to evan's friendhttp://memegenerator.net/Skyrim-Stan/images/popular/week

Is Otar supposed to be hard? I went nuts on him with dual wielding while he was resurrecting, popped a stam potion, fusrodahed him into the wall, then finished him off before he ever got an attack off. #humblebragAre you able to wear robes and armor? I seem to remember you could in Morrowind with the Archmage's Robes, but I haven't tried to do it in Skyrim yet[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 9:10 AM. Reason : lkj]

alduin bugged out on me at the throat of the world...he was "landed" in the middle of the sky and i just kept hitting him until he was "dead"...but even then he just stayed there and continued to rain down hellfirei had to run down the path far enough that i could fast-travel, then fast-traveled to high hrothgar and fast-traveled back to the throat (at which point he was on the ground again)he then became preoccupied with paarthanax (or whatever his name is) after i dragonrended him to the ground and it took only a little time to fireball him into running away
