11/11/2011 6:53:57 PM
wow. i mean at least we get him back for vanderbilt, but damn. hope no major sanctions come from the other $1300 or so that went to a former player.wonder why de thaey is out tonight...
11/11/2011 7:13:30 PM
haha, as long as its JUST this, there will be nothing the NCAA will do to us. We reported it, we make the guys sit some games, that will be the end of it.
11/11/2011 7:26:13 PM
I wonder who the former players were...Also can't wait for UNC fans to try to compare this to their mess.
11/11/2011 7:37:03 PM
i wonder if maybe it was harrow
11/11/2011 8:02:20 PM
i probably heard it wrong, but did they say in 2007?
11/11/2011 8:04:02 PM
so this is julius hodge right?
11/11/2011 8:05:21 PM
hodge getting paid? or doing the paying? if the money came from him they'd probably say former player rather than former student, as the one providing the benefit.

i honestly don't give 2 shits what those people over on IC have to say. They consistently try to defend that pathetic football program that academically and monetarily cheated.

11/12/2011 10:28:16 AM
Supposedly his car broke down so he borrowed a car for a week
11/12/2011 10:39:31 AM
i thought it was after an auto accident? they estimated that renting the car would have been $150. that doesn't seem too bad, but he and the former player should've known not to risk it. of course, then there's the $260 apartment application fee that was paid for his half(step?) brother. that was pretty stupid.
11/12/2011 10:49:28 AM
this fuck better not fuck us over.borrowing a car I can see; but getting your bother's apartment fee paid for? fuck you.in either case, why the fuck is this former stupid all up in this business?i hope his name is released and he gets the shitstorm he deserves; not to mention being banned from campus/ncsu sports for life. we don't need this shit.[Edited on November 12, 2011 at 10:50 AM. 11/12/2011 10:49:48 AM
Leslie didn't know about the apt thing according to yow.
11/12/2011 10:52:02 AM
Does this mean that we are "under investigation"?Does this mean that we could have a tourney ban next year?God that would suck.[Edited on November 12, 2011 at 12:02 PM. Reason : r]
11/12/2011 11:57:49 AM
at least this came out before he played a game this season
11/12/2011 11:59:22 AM
yeah but waht about the tourney ban[Edited on November 12, 2011 at 12:02 PM. Reason : e]
11/12/2011 12:02:29 PM
^^^I believe what I read was that the Leslie issue is pretty much done...but the $1300 to a former player is still being investigated. I suppose it is possible there is a postseason ban but more would have to come of this. If these are the only infractions, then I don't think there's going to be any ban.[Edited on November 12, 2011 at 12:03 PM. Reason : ]
11/12/2011 12:03:08 PM
$1300 is probably for Harrow's skinny jeans.
11/12/2011 12:04:35 PM
This would be some epic nc state shit and I am already starting to freak over it.
11/12/2011 12:24:58 PM
If we got a ban over that then Carolina really does deserve the death penalty

JOHN BLAKE?THE FUCK
11/14/2011 8:47:35 AM
?
11/14/2011 8:51:59 AM
Ok, so he totaled his car and borrowed one from a friend who ended up being classified as a booster after graduating from NCST?I can see that, honest mistake and he's "paying back" the money involved. Particularly since they valued the rental at 150 bucks, that's just a normal mid-sized car rental for a week.I could even see the apartment application fee for his brother depending on how close of a friend this guy is to Leslie and his brother. But that's just excused because they're probably friends. WTF is up with the 1300 to a former player? Also, why does Gopack have to refer to the brother as a "half-brother." It seems like they only would have gotten that from Calvin himself, and referring to him as a half-brother implies they aren't really that close so that sorta negates what I said earlier. Then again, I don't have any half-siblings. If you do do you normally refer to them with the half or just drop it and call them brother or sister?Gah, rambling in two threads now, I need to log out.
11/14/2011 9:22:18 AM
a former "student-athlete" received the $1300...not necessarily a former bball player...so don't read into it so much until more details come out[Edited on November 14, 2011 at 9:27 AM. Reason : asdf]
11/14/2011 9:26:59 AM
i think the john blake thing was a joke.
11/14/2011 9:37:01 AM
Not funny at all
11/14/2011 9:39:10 AM
Someone ask Julius Hodge via Twitter if the NCAA is investigating him.
11/14/2011 9:40:34 AM
So, given how well that Painter and Howell have played thus far, does Calvin come off the bench now?I could also see us going with a deep front court (Painter, RW, CL, SW/CW, LB). It seems hard to bench a guy that has been averaging near a double double.
11/14/2011 9:40:46 AM
^RW? Who's that, Richard Wowell?

no offense, but that's a silly question. if it's his half-brother, why wouldn't they call him his "half-brother"? "Brothers" have the same parents. Half-brothers share one common parent. Depending on the situation, he may have never even lived in the same house as his half-brother, or may not have even had a relationship. i don't know what the circumstances are here, but of course they're going to correctly identify him as his "half-brother".

11/14/2011 1:45:42 PM
Only white suburbia think that you have to have the same parents to be "brothers"In a lot of other cultures (including lower income white) it is common to have siblings of different parents and refer to them as "brother". I am sure that they said half-brother to be technical.anyways it is no big deal
11/14/2011 1:48:52 PM
i call every caucasian male "brother"
