Navy? I don't think they would be willing to give up their indy status though. They are pretty weak in basketball and football currently too.
9/18/2011 3:06:44 PM
LOL wut?
9/18/2011 3:10:03 PM
If Navy is the best we can do, we should just stick with 14 teams.
9/18/2011 3:11:16 PM
Yeah. I agree about that. Mostly just wondering.
9/18/2011 3:18:01 PM
Yeah, conference expansion is supposed to be about strengthening the conference, not weakening. There are multiple high schools in NC that have put more players in the NBA than Navy.
9/18/2011 3:19:16 PM
9/18/2011 3:23:57 PM
^that's my thinking as well.
9/18/2011 3:27:08 PM
oh my god and we'd have to hear about womens basketball even more than we do now.i couldn't be more out on uconn.
9/18/2011 3:30:49 PM
9/18/2011 3:31:55 PM
don't dismiss a WNBA factory
9/18/2011 3:32:00 PM
I doubt charlotte would be removed from the ACC tournament rotation
9/18/2011 3:35:07 PM
9/18/2011 3:43:25 PM
then blame the fans, not the school. the school is winning games. And wasn't that game played in Jacksonville? That's a long commute for either school. Maybe those games should be played in Charlotte or somewhere more central where its not too cold?[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:00 PM. Reason : i guess not ATL since the SEC has that one]
9/18/2011 3:45:51 PM
the fans are apart of the school. if the school doesn't have any fans, then i don't want the school. i don't care if this is somehow unfair to a university. maybe someday unicef will get into the college sports business, but until then uconn and boston college can sit themselves down in the A10 as far as i'm concerned.
9/18/2011 4:00:35 PM
would you want to kick out duke if they got good at football? what about wake forest?2006 ACC championship game. Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech. Real fire-hazard, this one[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:24 PM. Reason : ]
9/18/2011 4:01:09 PM
that is what i said.kicking out small schools that were founding members of the conference is the same thing as not wanting to invite a new small school in storrs, connecticut.
9/18/2011 4:03:31 PM
Charlotte would be a good area, as would DC (or where ever the redskins stadium is) for the ACC champ game.

9/18/2011 4:08:00 PM
pitt is a rock solid addition. syracuse is an okay addition.
9/18/2011 4:09:49 PM
^^because navy regularly makes the sweet 16.[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:26 PM. Reason : carrot]
9/18/2011 4:10:43 PM
^^ How can you argue about fanbases and then in the same breath say Pitt is a good addition?I think they are but they have one of the worst traveling fanbases in football...
9/18/2011 4:12:06 PM
9/18/2011 4:12:10 PM
^^^ In terms of football, Pitt are like a Georgia Tech. Forever and always will be a bastard #2 to the main school in the state.
9/18/2011 4:12:14 PM
this looks to be helping bball more than anything but that's fine with me
9/18/2011 4:13:58 PM
^^^ yes. wake is a tiny school, but it's our tiny school. uconn is not our responsibility, i don't know why we'd want to make it ours.us being the acc, not nc state.^^ i would add a second georgia tech in a heartbeat, so that's not swaying me off of pitt. and miami has excellent academics. what are you talking about?[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:17 PM. Syracuse and UConn actually travel pretty well all things considered. Pitt does for basketball as well, but they are horrid for football. They had like 300 people at the Tangerine Bowl when Antonio Bryant ran train all over us.Comparing any of those schools fanbases to Boston College is completely unfair and disingenuous.[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:21 PM. 9/18/2011 4:21:24 PM
do the UCF players carry handguns to their games? seems a little much for me
9/18/2011 4:24:24 PM
based on 2010 home attendance numbers for comparison, Pitt's about the size of ECU for home attendance and ECU is larger than Syracuse by 25%, so the revenue is going from a 8.33% split to a 7.14% split for the existing 12 schools in the conference to add two schools that based on the support for their football program since all this expansion is supposedly based on football are worth 1.8 ECUs combined[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:28 PM. Reason : /]
9/18/2011 4:25:43 PM
yeah, but when you take STDs into account, the numbers change drastically
9/18/2011 4:27:55 PM
Are you arguing for ECU or against Pitt or what
9/18/2011 4:28:29 PM
I would think anyone who has been paying attention to UNC football would know attendance numbers are a crock of shit.
9/18/2011 4:29:08 PM

I want UConn. It's not like they didn't just win the NCAA tourny and go to the Fiesta Bowl in one calender year, or anything. Sure, they got worked, but they're a young program who could potentially be a good team if they were in a solid conference. Losing Edsall hurts, but they could fit right in with the ACC teams, in my opinion. Not to mention, Calhoun, Boheim, coach K, Roy Williams, and up-and coming coaches would make the ACC THE destination for top flight coaches.also, I want to be able to relive this from time to time:[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:59 PM. I think Louisville is the most attractive of the remaining Big East schools
9/18/2011 4:40:31 PM
I hope not. I'll gag if we have to deal with Louisville fans every year or two.
9/18/2011 4:44:02 PM
I'm gonna go tutor some wv students so we can add them
9/18/2011 4:46:31 PM
I kind of feel bad for all the schools that now have to scramble to preserve their future nows, I'm sure the AD at louisville is going to have to talk to every conf this week to desperately get something done and prob about 10 or so schools might get screwed, also don't know wtf the big east bball schools are gonna do [Edited on September 18, 2011 at 4:53 PM. 9/18/2011 4:49:26 PM
guys we don't want louisville, they're a second rate school to UK in the state of kentucky.you see what i did there?
9/18/2011 4:51:38 PM
Nobody wants the Loserville Tardnals.I saw that written in the comments section of an ESPN article. I giggled like a little girl when I read it.
