Yep. Husband is gone. At least the cat wants to cuddle.

Good thing I was prepared for this disaster.
1/22/2014 9:42:37 AM
I squeezed an extra hour of sleep out of it. I guess that's something
1/22/2014 9:53:51 AM
I am going to bojangles, screw this noise.
1/22/2014 9:56:22 AM
i got an extra 45 minutes of sleep, time to cook a nice chipotle pepper omelette for breakfast, and time to come in a little bit early and get a few things caught up on. I'd like a 2 hour delay everyday.
1/22/2014 9:57:52 AM
Next good opportunity looks to be next Tuesday/Wednesday
1/23/2014 8:10:52 PM
I was talking with one of the more well known triad meteorologists last night about the snow chances next week. If the models he showed me actually hold up, we could see some pretty significant snowfall here.
1/24/2014 8:11:08 AM
Don't tease me bro!
1/24/2014 8:12:20 AM
The further east you are the better your odds are it appears
1/24/2014 8:40:09 AM
^At the moment, yes. Plenty of time for the offshore low to move a little west and bring some precip our way.
1/24/2014 8:43:47 AM
True also plenty of time for it to move east and bring nothing to everyone
1/24/2014 8:56:48 AM
It's damn cold today. Got a cold since getting up.
1/24/2014 8:57:27 AM
yeah, i get a lot of my information from http://www.americanwx.com and the models look pretty good. yeah theyre east but these things never play out verbatim to a model 3+ days out.
1/24/2014 9:04:52 AM
^^lol, I was trying to bring hope and cheer. But yes, you are correct. That's why I really don't like following winter storms until the day of the event.00z Canadian Model:6z GFS:[Edited on January 24, 2014 at 9:10 AM. Reason : still a long ways out]
1/24/2014 9:05:45 AM
yep, looks like nothing to me
1/24/2014 9:22:23 AM
Yep I follow them but about Tuesday is when I will start actually believing its possible what they are spitting out. Snow events in this area are way too hard to forecast most of the time that really more than 48 hours out you should be very skeptical.
1/24/2014 9:28:01 AM
I believe in the Raleigh shield. It is mighty and powerful.
1/24/2014 9:52:18 AM
vote NO on Proposition Snow
1/24/2014 9:53:18 AM
hearing some snow maybe Wednesday and possible 6+ inches Friday
1/24/2014 2:00:51 PM
Eastern snow > Western snow
1/24/2014 2:02:25 PM
Raleigh Shield laughs at at the thought of 6"In all seriousness, 6" would be pretty awesome
1/24/2014 2:23:20 PM
If Raleigh gets 6 inches I will probably have a fit
1/24/2014 2:53:44 PM
Has Raleigh really gotten anything over 2-3 inches since the big one back in 99 or 00?
1/24/2014 2:58:53 PM
1/24/2014 3:00:48 PM
I want to say yes...That storm in 04 maybe? it pumped in quite a bit.The Raleigh shield has been upgraded since then, will never happen.

Raleigh got 4-5 inches in 08 or 09. I was living at U-Village at the time. That snow was funny in the fact that it snowed those 4-5 inches that morning and by that evening, a lot of it had already melted. I remember playing football on one of the fields over by frat court and by the time we were done, there were already green patches where it was gone.
1/24/2014 3:09:06 PM
where is anyone seeing 6"?
1/24/2014 3:43:48 PM
that's what she sa... oh wait
1/24/2014 3:51:32 PM
^^The same people that get pissed off that we get a dusting when they heard a week before hand that if everything lines up perfectly, we'll get measurable snow.
1/24/2014 5:24:09 PM
no snow this time
1/25/2014 10:01:11 AM
latest prediction: knocking on the doorstep
1/26/2014 12:35:00 PM
The GFS looks wetter than that...both NAM and GFS were a lot drier for us in earlier runs
1/26/2014 12:58:03 PM
Raleigh's streak will continue.East and south of Triangle looking good though. Has it been three years since real accumulation here?
1/26/2014 3:57:09 PM
well, the 18z gfs just went absolutely bonkers dropping a foot of snow in Raleigh and 8+ inches in Charlotte and some snow all the way back to the mountains. However, apparently the 18z gfs is one of the least reliable readings there can be.
1/26/2014 6:01:53 PM
if we don't get any fucking snow this season I'm writing a strongly worded letter to Greg Fishel
1/26/2014 6:17:43 PM
I'm gonna get him alone on an elevator and threaten his life.
1/26/2014 6:28:34 PM
Drown him in the WRAL fountain would be a more appropriate response.
1/26/2014 6:49:39 PM
^ Its froze solid right now, havta wait a few weeks to do that.
1/26/2014 7:12:19 PM
Hmmmmmm.. Things may be about to be interesting.
1/26/2014 8:47:38 PM
Why is everybody acting coy about snow?!?!Is it gonna snow in Raleigh or not? If so, when? And how much?
1/26/2014 8:54:20 PM
weather.com certainly doesn't think it's going to snow
1/26/2014 8:59:39 PM
WRAL says probably tuesday night into wednesday
1/26/2014 9:01:52 PM
It ain't gonna do shit.
1/26/2014 9:05:07 PM
^ x4. You will get 1.5 inches on Wed. and it will all melt by Thursday at noon. [Edited on January 26, 2014 at 9:07 PM. Reason : k]
1/26/2014 9:05:55 PM
Praise Gaia, Jesus, Allah, and Yeti McFreeze that another area (we live in Boone) is getting the bulk of the snow for a change.
1/26/2014 9:07:40 PM
1/26/2014 9:08:49 PM
They are coy because the models have shifted west with the precip, and up until this morning the snows were relegated to the coast. This is where it's going to get fun...i'm hoping.
1/26/2014 9:12:40 PM
I don't have time for snow during the week. Keep that shit to the weekends.
