I wish we had rookie phenom Ike Davis leading our club to 15 games out of first
8/18/2010 11:30:17 AM
He's got Wally Joyner written all over him

As a Cub fan I hope this happens. Lee is a good guy and still decent, but we need to regroup, big time.
8/18/2010 2:17:36 PM
I like Lee, but he is injured a lot. I'm not sure this is the best move, but hopefully it will work out for the best.Hudson is going tonight against the Nats. SF has Cain going against the Phillies tonight, this is a good opportunity to add another game to our lead.
8/18/2010 2:47:06 PM
I don't see the incentive for the Cubs unless they are getting some decent minor leaguers in return. They would be better off holding on to Lee and getting the supplemental pick. Unless the Cubs don't want to pay two more months of Lee's salary which makes no sense especially for a team like the Cubs that isn't hard up for money.
8/18/2010 2:48:00 PM
he came back from visiting his sick grandfather (I think) and hit 4 homers in his first 3 games back...before getting banged up againthis all happened in the past week]
8/18/2010 2:48:01 PM
Cubs just want to dump his salary. He's owed $3m+ this season, that's a lot of salary to take on for the Braves if he's not healthy. But if he is, there's little downside for either team.

These MASN announcers sure know how to bitch.LOL now they are bringing up Bobby coming out of the dugout and getting the called changed last night, when that was an obvious call last night. Fucking ridiculousV yeah maybe it was a quick trigger, but every game I've watched the Braves play on MASN they have something to say about the umps not calling strikes and favoring the Braves[Edited on August 18, 2010 at 9:22 PM. strange, MLB Tonight guy just said it was their 10th walk-off win this year
8/18/2010 10:12:42 PM
I asked Hawk Harrelson about MLB Tonight guy, he said HE WRONG
8/18/2010 10:14:01 PM
they were interviewing Heyward on the phone and Chris Rose said something like "congrats on your 10th walk off win, 3rd by you ..."
8/18/2010 10:17:27 PM
8/18/2010 10:19:05 PM
i was about to ask a really dumb fuckin question and im incredibly glad i didnt
8/18/2010 10:23:15 PM
I wish the Phillies would lose some games . . .
8/18/2010 10:26:09 PM
lol. duhhh why are all the walk-offs at home?i called LaRoche (which didn't happen) and Glaus moving back to 3rd (which I hope is only on occasion)I'm guessing we'll see Lee, Infante, Gonzo, and Prado most of the time.. shift them around when one needs a day off?
8/18/2010 10:27:51 PM
Chris Rose really is a moron. he got none of it right.
8/19/2010 8:10:32 AM
interesting for derek lee that his first games in braves unis will be at Wrigley
8/19/2010 8:26:24 AM
I have to call bullshit on the 21 walk offs, pending further research I'm actually going to look at every home win line score here, give me a few minutes
8/19/2010 8:55:05 AM
Chris Rose was right for once in his life4-18, 4-20, 5-14, 5-18, 5-19, 5-20, 6-19, 7-2, 8-16 and 8-1821 walk offs would just be ridiculous
8/19/2010 9:03:10 AM
i thought it was 21 walk-offs total, not just home
8/19/2010 9:05:27 AM
Because walk offs are commonplace on the road.
8/19/2010 9:06:59 AM
yeah good call. guess i meant final at-bat[Edited on August 19, 2010 at 9:09 AM. Reason : /]
8/19/2010 9:08:02 AM
yeah but your final at bat as the road team still has to be an out. could be 21 come from behind wins maybe
8/19/2010 9:35:28 AM
i think it's 21 9th/last inning wins including extra innings.[Edited on August 19, 2010 at 9:38 AM. Reason : daasdf]
8/19/2010 9:37:42 AM
^they just said that on sportscenter, 21st last-at-bat win
8/19/2010 11:16:13 AM
jesus guys, its easy....21 wins in our last at bat (including top of 9th and bottom of 9th)10 walk-offs(obviously, all at home on the last SWING)
8/19/2010 11:23:10 AM
Yes, but Ernie was so confident saying it was 21 walkoffs, and I love to spite him so very much
8/19/2010 11:27:15 AM
thought that was established

8/19/2010 11:58:22 AM
^ the game has already started[Edited on August 19, 2010 at 1:26 PM. Reason : and he has already let up a HR]
8/19/2010 1:09:09 PM
These Nats announcers....oh man....Your team is bottom of the barrel, and you're complaining about not getting calls? And these aren't even close. Too much funny going on here...blaming the umpiring crew...good stuff.
8/19/2010 3:38:51 PM
Don't blame meBlame the lovable DOBhttp://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2010/08/18/stat-of-the-day-final-at-bat-victories--I'm still not following, thoughA list of "every 2010 Braves walk-off and last AB win": http://bleacherreport.com/articles/418806-every-2010-atlanta-braves-walk-off-and-last-ab-win-wvideo-links#page/2Including 8/10 @ HoustonBraves hit two homers in the top of the ninth to take the lead, 4-2. Their last AB of the inning was Melky grounding out. I guess we're talking about last inning at the plate for the team, not the last recorded at bat for a player. Never picked up on that. Slave, go be petty in your third-place thread.[Edited on August 19, 2010 at 4:31 PM. Reason : ]

Mitch Williams just said Lowe should be in the pen if the Braves make the playoffsI'm for it
8/19/2010 5:19:41 PM
I'm for it to. He's not very consistent (hence the 11-11 record). I understand we don't always give him the best run support, but to me Hanson or JJ are pitching more like our #2.Another thing, anybody else for Farnsworth never taking the mound for the Braves ever again?
8/19/2010 5:28:06 PM
i don't think farnsworth has pitched for us yet and NOT given up a run. worthless
