^ You're correct in your assessment of objective based games but incorrect with deathmatch based games. If you want to win a deathmatch game you cant run around like crazy and expect to win...the point is to get the most kills while dying the least so that the team can win. So you have to take your time on maps...checking every corner...waiting a few seconds to see if someone runs through an alley or across your field of vision..then keep going.Obviously you cant do that in objective games because the point is to get to an objective as fast as possible, capture it, then defend it. So what Im saying is people who play TD, FFA, or MTD most likely have a higher K/D because the style of play is different, and having a high K/D means your team will usually win. Two totally different styles of games require two different styles of play. The notion of camping is staying in one spot, not moving, and wait for people to come by and shouldnt belong in either style of game.[Edited on November 14, 2009 at 12:12 PM. Reason : a]

seedless, I am not a big fan of 1 on 1. Whats end up happening is that i run around to make things happen, the other person is hiding, and I die. I would rather you add me as a friend, or I invite you into a FFA match.
11/14/2009 12:21:34 PM
its called strategy. I'll move slow and check every corner in rooms and alleys but in wide open fields i'll spring like mad from cover to cover and scope out the area. Some people might call it camping I call it not giving away free kills to the other team.If i'm playing a really dumb team that charges up the same alley every time then hell yes i'll take full advantage and just sit there and take them out one by one...but only if they're that dumb which surprisingly i've run into a lot.

the thread is turning retardedi got on multiplayer the first time last night and started a team death match game 1:5 but then i think i finished 3:6...i had a couple even rounds then i had some decent 10:3 rounds...then the bell curve mustve continued cause is started sucking again...need to learn the maps and get some nicer weapon setups
11/14/2009 4:54:36 PM
i'll admit.. in the objective based games, i really don't try to capture the flag or anything. if i get close to it, then great...but i mainly just try to shoot people
11/14/2009 5:04:44 PM
^ why are you even playing an objective game? easier for you to get kills because everyone else is actually focused on the gametype?
11/14/2009 6:32:48 PM
that's why they all do it

i always choose deathmatch unless i'm playing with a friend in his "party" and he chooses the game style. then i just go for the kills mainly

i typically play groundwar because its easiest to kill dumb people and all the TDM gets monotonous sometimesI'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

I like groundwar because there's more people on the boards and I enjoy CTF, but I'm going to try out the TDM express tonight to see how I like it.

CTF blows unless you have a party.because you will definitely be playing against a party and good luck trying to organize some mofosI'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

get a headset and take command of your teammates.
11/14/2009 11:12:57 PM
^^ This is the truest statement in the whole thread. It's so annoying to me how everyone seems to either try to go on offense, or they just forget the point of CTF altogether and run around trying to get kills. More often than not I wind up being the only one trying to play defense, and it does not end well when my teammates offer no support whatsoever.

wouldn't you know it, MW2 comes out and like 3 days later, my xbox dies guess i'll be callin M$ for a new one. this will be the third time sending it in for another oneoh and the game was fuckin awesome for the few hours I did get to play

I think the camping has a lot to do with the nature of the maps. There are just too many windows and rooftops and sides to get shot from, when you combine that with a garbage spawn system in desperate need of a patch, nobody wants to start moving because you will get shot in the back. The only maps I actually like so far are Afghan and Airport.Another thing is the damage the weapons do, and the abscence of juggernaut. You cant get shot and react anymore. Honestly regualr TDM feels like hardcore. If you get shot, you are dead. The bullets do way more damage, and if you actually survive, you are fucking blinded because for some reason wherever you get hit by a bullet, the wound somehow sprays blood into your eyes everytime. So its who sees who first, even more so than the original COD games. Combine that with:-New game, people dont know where to anticipate enemy players-Maps are extremeley camper friendly-Stopping power no longer essential, leads to more Cold Blooded-Bling makes it easier to use silenced weapons... you can silence pretty much any weapon now-Recons can be jammed and shot down-High killstreak rewards give more motivation to not die-Frag Grenades less available and usefull[Edited on November 15, 2009 at 4:31 AM. Yeah without Stopping Power the M4 can be pretty worthless at medium to long range, you really have to go for the head for much chance at stopping people. I, too, have damn near emptied an entire clip all scoring body hits and not killed they guy.
11/15/2009 11:17:06 AM
^^^ I pretty much agree with that entire post.I've recently noticed, that i cannot get away from being shot about 99% of the time.. Even when i duck behind a wall a "delayed bullet" kills me anyway, even though i was well out of sight (behind several walls). And i totally agree that there is many more camping spots than previous games. It seems that most of my deaths come from someone shooting out some window/alcove/hiding spot that i didn't even know about.I'm going to write all this off to just needing to learn the layout of the maps better. I'm not even gonna attempt to touch hardcore mode till i have every map committed to memory. The game has only been out a week and I figure there will be plenty of time for things to smooth over. It's obvious some of the better players did their homework and memorized maps before release, therefore they have a leg up on other players from the get go.
11/15/2009 11:22:18 AM
I like Mosh Pit... I hate just playing the same mode over and over... It's fun to switch it up every game...
11/15/2009 11:22:48 AM
Im finally starting to play at 1:1 more regularly ... im at level 15 now.Just bought a PS3, so Im new to the controller and to the game, so i figure this is not terrible progress. Is there a clan tag that anyone on tww is using? I put "[tww]" in front of my name, just in case some of you fools are playing on there. Figured we could team up at some point.
11/15/2009 12:44:56 PM
JCE2011's post pretty much hit the nail on the head. Those reasons are why I am not jerking off to this game like most of you are.I'd be willing to bet that 75% of my deaths are being shot in the back usually by a douche with cold-blooded.
11/15/2009 12:58:08 PM
11/15/2009 1:41:29 PM
Aim is crucial. shooting at lower body/legs, you'll find yourself emptying the clip very often. Need to adjust it up slightly, because thats where all the guys who "kill you with 1 bullet" aim.
11/15/2009 1:42:47 PM
So if you have FMJ on a weapon, would you say it's a wasted perk to continue to use Stopping Power? I'm still on the fence about this even though my main gun is the SCAR-H.
11/15/2009 3:47:16 PM
^^nothing is wrong with my aim..I'm shooting at their upper torso/heads. Hardcore is much more fun especially with the m16 because i can take out several guys quickly with one burst each. I just wish they had more hardcore game types.
11/15/2009 4:04:39 PM
This game is terribly, terribly unbalanced. I like it for the stupid fun insanity that happens, but if I ever want some challenging competitive play I'll go back to Halo 3.Case in Point:TACTICAL INSERTIONI can't tell you how many times I've used tactical insertion to get a cheap kill. As long as you stay close to your flare if anyone kills you then you already know where you're going to respawn and can just shoot them back. It gives a whole new meeting to the term spawn-camping.Cold Blooded is also the best perk in the game BY FAR. I can pretty much ignore 90% of the enemy's killstreak rewards now because the computer won't shoot me and human gunners don't see a red box over me.Maybe the game will get more balanced once everyone knows how awesome these two items are, but even then it will just make certain aspects of multiplayer annoying.
11/15/2009 4:26:47 PM
For the record, Bad Company has the best spawn system.
11/15/2009 4:52:06 PM
^It helps that the maps are the size of Alaska.

11/15/2009 5:12:05 PM
I can usually kill at least two people with a full M4 clip using the hardline perk. Shooting in bursts helps to conserve ammo and make it more accurate.

i havent played much multiplayer yet so i dont know the answer to this question. i remember early on there was a lot of talk about vehicles being in the game. i know you interact with some in single player, but do you ever do anything with vehicles in multiplayer?
11/15/2009 9:26:53 PM
not so far. i guess it could be a possibility when infinity ward create new maps though.
11/15/2009 9:30:38 PM
^They've basically announced that they would never put non-killstreak vehicles in any multiplayer map.Right now a lot of the killstreak rewards are considered "vehicles", but that's it.

I had some lag issues on CoD4. I was using wireless and noticed all the time that I would pop around a corner and run into some guy then unload half a mag into him before I died. Killcam would show me not even getting a round off.

How many claymores can be placed at a time? For example, if I plant 2, go use Scavenger to resupply, and plant 2 more, do the first 2 just explode? For as much as I love using claymores, I don't know that I will want to anymore if I have to give up Tactical Insertion. I hardly ever see anybody use claymores in Sabotage games, which I just don't understand.

i too, find the grenades much less enjoyable in this game. Also, you can't throw them near as far as you could in COD4. I do find myself using flash and stun grenades much more often in this game though.
