OK so here's the deal - last week our PS3 crapped out on us, but only the Blu-Ray part of it. Regular DVDs play fine.

Go figure - my True Blood S1 (and soon-to-be-shipped S2) are in Blu-Ray format.

Does anyone want to loan me S1 on DVD? And if you plan to buy S2 when it comes out next week, can I borrow that as well (when you're done with it?)

I had intended to rewatch the series before S3 starts in a month but now I can't. Unless I buy a Blu-Ray player. Ugh.

this is true, but unfortunately Sony says to allow 5 weeks once you ship it off to them. i don't have 5 weeks

i can always get them from Blockbuster I suppose. but i'd rather not spend the cash if someone has them to borrow.

just torrent it - also, if your husband is watching true blood - you need to take his man card away

lol.
1)There are tits.
2)Your wife doesn't mind you watching tits with her.
3)She enjoys quality time spent watching tits with her and becomes more likely to show you hers.

Yep, man card should be revoked for watching this with your wife.

heck, i watch true blood...i love anna paquin (boobies!) and ALMOST anything that has vampires and/or werewolves...HBO usually puts out quality shows and true blood is no exception

i draw the line at that new moon bs (or whatever it's called)...you couldn't pay me to watch that crap

for the record, he really enjoyed S1 but his interest waned during S2 - to the point that he pretty much has no desire to watch S3 with me. but he'll watch it with me anyways.

it's actually quite laughable that you think watching this show makes a man less of a man. i think the fact that he inserts his penis into a vagina with any sort of regularity pretty much guarantees the existence of his man card for an indefinite time.

That is not how the man card system works.

I prefer the "I get to see other women's tits and keep my wife happy at the same time" card. It has a much better bonus plan than the man card.

Plus it can get pretty violent and gory at times. The show I mean.

haha

"watching True Blood with the wife" is more accurately described in my house as "True Blood is on the TV, wife is thoroughly engrossed in True Blood, and husband browses TWW on his laptop - pausing occasionally to watch the naked boobies"

i ripped up my man card. WHY? because i don't need no stinking man card, i can do what i want when i want to whoever i want. also i needed room for my dental insurance card.

I indeed can read.

I was just saying its still worth getting your blu-ray fixed. on demand isnt a replacment for quality bluray.

aah, well of course. there's no question about that - we own too much Blu-Ray to just ignore it. plus, the games that my husband plays work just fine until it's time to load data, then those games crap out as well. we just don't like the idea of committing to 5 weeks without the PS3.

my guess is that we'll buy a new PS3, and send this one off to get fixed. if it comes back good as new, we'll just put it upstairs in the bedroom.

so someone defend this show for me because i'm 5 episodes through season 1 and it's starting to lose me. The Bill/Sookie story even though it's the centerpiece isn't really interesting me at all. i need to know why this show is worth it and if season 2 is any better.

i vampire and werewolf flicks and, for the most part, it doesn't matter how bad they are...true blood is far from "bad"

got more into season 1. i'm going to stick it out. especially with the introduction of Lizzy Caplan

^anna paquin doesn't do it for me, but she doesn't really distract me either.

^I worry about you being able to stick it out through Season 2...if you make it through, I'll be impressed, but I really think you're gonna get bored/annoyed with a storyline that pissed many TB S1 lovers off.

yeah, i think you may have a tough time enjoying S2 if S1 took a while for you to warm up to.

i think my favorite storylines from S1 thus far are the ones with Jason and Tara. With Sookie/Bill still in third. I just finished the episode where Eric came to collect Bill for the tribunal. Alexander Skarsgard looks so weird with the long hair.

Damn this show is addictive. I was stuck at home this past weekend after wisdom teeth surgery and me and my "nurse" decided to watch one of the episodes on demand for fun. We then proceeded to watch for like 15 hours straight

I liked the LOD storyline in S2 batter than the Maryanne story line.

the maryanne storyline was one that should have lasted half the season but they stretched it out way too long to go the entire time.
