I went to Walgreens this morning

Got:
2 100 ct boxes of Equal (used 2/$5 in-ad coupon and 2 $2.50 coupons)
1 bottle Fantastik (clearanced to $0.95). Used $1 coupon for today's paper
2 Revlon nail clippers (BOGO free). $2.29 each. Used two $1 coupons on any Revlon beauty tool
1 Diet Coke

Spent $1.96. Saved 90%

Will the 2/$5 Equal in-ad coupon work if you're only buying 1 box or do you have to buy 2 of them for the coupon to work? I've only got 1 of the Equal coupons and don't really want to buy 2 of the Equal boxes if I don't have to.

TY!

Where did you find a clearanced Fantastick? Think all of them are clearanced, even though it says they're on BOGO this week?

Also, I have a BOGO Oust coupon. If I buy 2 Oust, get 2 free, then use the Q for BOGO that I've got - will they allow that? That would mean buying 1 and getting 3 free.

the clearanced fantastik was the "orange" one

I don't think the others were on sale

Oust 10 oz are BOGO...use the BOGO coupon and get 2 cans free...but be warned, when I was there at 10am this morning, they were already out...this was the walgreens on glenwood

The front page of the Wags ad says Fantastick is BOGO (along with the Oust) so that's why I wondered if they were all ringing up on Clearance or if it was only one type. I'm sure they're already out of everything, so I won't even bother going to Wags.

FYI, for anyone considering getting the 33% N&O home delivery special: seriously evaluate your delivery person's behavior. Check your neighbors to see how lazy they are.

Even though we have a paper box at the end of the driveway, the paper is always thrown in the driveway. Today, and last week, the paper was completely soaked, despite being wrapped in plastic.

For last week's paper, N&O re-delivered, but it took them two tries. The first time, they sent the monday paper.

If they keep this up, I'm cancelling.

last week, our paper was completly soaked but thanks to a miracle, all the coupon inserts were dry

this week, it was hardly raining and they doubled-bagged the paper...they must have gotten a lot of complaints last Sunday when it was pouring and they only single-bagged it

^when we signed up, it look them a few times to get it right

Well, FYI, if you complain, they'll redeliver if it's before noon.

http://www.newsobserver.com/480/

Last week, my coupons were also wet.
And my paper today was only bagged once. Of course, the corner was torn, AND the bottom was all scuffed up. My paper today is in worse shape than last week's was.

Wow, I guess I should tip my paper carrier (is that even possible?). My paper has been double bagged when it was cloudy, not to mention when it was raining.

I had to routinely complain when I first started getting the N&O at my old apartment. It seemed like after many consecutive complaints it magically got all better - I don't know if my carrier got fired, or if they just shaped up.

Joanne,
I don't know whether this is something for you to address, or for someone else. If it is for someone else, please let me know who to contact.

Today's paper: wrapped in plastic, thrown in the driveway, and absolutely soaked.

Given that we have an N&O box, this is completely unacceptable, and incredibly annoying.

Please let me know what I can do to ensure get my paper in a readable condition, on a reliable basis, as well as what will be done on the N&O's part."

I get all my inserts for free but if that ever falls through, I'm glad I know about this N & O mess. Thanks for the heads up.

Also, thanks Fhqwhgads for the information about the Saturday pre-weekly deals being available. I'm sure that will be helpful in the future!

I went to CVS yesterday and got 4 packs of altoids (classroom prizes), two containers of ALL detergent, 5 soyjoy (they did re-do the limit!!!), two mentos gum, gillette shampoo, 6 pop up tapes and 2 wrist dispensers (some for me and some for my mom) and I spent $6...most of which was the detergent, BOGO for 7.49...but it's the boyfriend's favorite. I also got back more ECB's than I spent so I was pretty happy. They were out of the throat coolers and I didn't get the Revelon Q's until tonight so I will be making a trip sometime soon.

Hidden deal I saw was that the Warmer units that cost 99 cents are printing $2 ECB's. I have not tried this yet. Post if you try it and find that it works

Glades are producing a $2 ECB but the warmer unit is somehow included. Maybe by accident. It cost a $1 and you get back $2. I'm not sure of the limit.

Went grocery shopping yesterday at HT. They are having some crazy good VIC sales. Our favorite pomegranate juice was on sale - buy 2, get 3 free! Tons of fresh meats and deli meats are Buy one, get one free. I think the VIC sales change on Tuesdays though so you should hurry in.

^Saturday night, we got the prepackaged deli meats that are actually in the Deli section (can't recall the brand) - they were Buy 1 Get 2 Free, but they all rang up at 1/3 the price.

Kmart is having their Super Doubles this week (doubling up to $2 coupons). Seems to be about the same as the past super doubles - I always have problems finding those few free/cheap items in stock.

It's the HT brand. The roast beef is my favorite, definitely worth trying. Think I might go back and get a little more cheese, $3/lb for deli cheese isn't bad.

Anyone by chance know if there are any particular CVS stores that still have the 6-pack Soy Joys? The store I went to when the deal first started 1/4 is now completely sold out, and I tried 2 other stores and didn't even see the display up anywhere. I really wanna pick up a few more boxes since the limit reset/is now 10. Any help would be appreciated.

I can tell you that on Sunday, the Walnut/Tryon store was out. Yesterday, the Cary Parkway/Chapel Hill Rd store was out. And today, the Davis/Morrisville Carpenter store was out.

BUT - the manager of the Davis/Morrisville Carpenter store told me to go grab 6 individual bars and he'd give me the $6 ECB back. I guess since the individuals are on sale right now for 10/$10, then it's easy to ring 6 individuals up and print $6 generic ECB. So you might try there and see if he offers, but I doubt he'd do it for more than one $6 ECB.

So I've somehow ended up with like $85 in ECBs and they're burning a whole in my pocket, haha. How many ECBs do you guys typically have at once?

Also, what do you do with all the stuff you accumulate? I've got loads of mouth wash, dish soap, hand soap, toothpaste (GAH the toothpaste!), Kleenex, cereal bars, laundry detergent, tushy paper...the list goes on.

No more than $10 or so at a time as I roll them to spend as little out of pocket as possible.

Use it.

What I can't use (toothpaste, oh so much of it) I give to my parents, brother, roommates, or the women's shelter (interact, they will take OTC meds as well and most places won't).

Some of it gets put in gift bags, I always have several put together and ready to go in the closet full of some of the nicer stuff. Nice to have around when you realize you forgot about a birthday or something.

ughh... i want the cleansing cream

i just wanted to post a brag from lowes foods last night:

(2) Tampax $3.19 BOGO sale & $0.50/1 MQ Doubled = $3.19/2 -2*$0.50 = $0.59

(3) Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers 3/$4.98 sale & $0.50/1 MQ Doubled = $1.66each - 2*$0.50 = $0.66

(1) Butterball Fried Turkey Lunch Meat $3.99 BOGO sale & $1/1 IP = $3.99/2 - $1 = $0.99

(2) Mueler (sp?) Pasta 2/$1 sale & $0.55/2 MQ Doubled = $1 -2*$0.55 = FREE

Total after tax, coupons, sales, etc : $5.47
Total saved: $14.30

it made me happy.. whatever.

^ ur coupons dont make any sense to me

for the first one would the tampax be two for $3.19 - 2 .50 coupons doubled which would be $2.00 and then be $1.19? for two?

you have half of that as what you paid for two

Quote :
"(1) Butterball Fried Turkey Lunch Meat $3.99 BOGO sale & $1/1 IP = $3.99/2 - $1 = $0.99
"

and that is suppose to be .99 cents each right?

sorry...

tampax was originally $3.19, then it was marked as BOGO, but they ring up half price so then it was $1.59 minus the coupon for $0.50 which was doubled to $1 making the total $0.59 for each box.

same with the lunch meat, i guess i didn't make it very clear.

so it would be
2 tampax @ $0.59 each
3 veggies @ $0.66 each
1 turkey @ $0.99 each
2 pasta @ free

= $4.15 plus tax

[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 10:18 AM. Reason : f]

[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 10:21 AM. Reason : f for fail]

somehow my math ads up to 4.15, but tax on the receipt says $0.22 and the total is $5.47, so my math must be screwed up somewhere... but whatever, i paid $5.47 and saved $14.30 according to my receipt, i'm done trying to add.
