I feel like i am trolling. I have nothing against the console. I simply think there are no decent games for it. The bluray movie selection today (and hd-dvd as well) is appalling. The media extension aspect of it is severely flawed (well it has fucked up every time Ive seen it used). I don't doubt its going to have "prettier" games than older hardware. I even think it will sell and be more reliable than the 360 given enough time (how could you be less reliable? lol). In my opinion at the present date there inst a single aspect of it worth 500$. Unless you really think hd movies are worth 100$ a viewing. Giving either blu/hd format benefit of 5 good titles is a considerate stretch.

So I finished watching all the new E3 trailers posted to the PS Store. MGS4 is, of course, the best of the bunch. A lot of people are gonna criticize the stylized graphics for lacking detail, but then ,they'd be idiots. This is a game crafted from the ground up with the purpose of driving a storyline, and every aspect of it contributes to that. Will it be a system seller? For MGS fan who are waiting for it to come out to buy a PS3, yeah of course it will, but for anyone else I don't see it changing their minds.

Killzone 2 on the other hand could definitely do for the PS3 what Gears did for the 360. Graphically, it looks almost unbelievably (omfg this can't be real time) good. I can't say much about gameplay, as I don't like console FPSs in general, but I could see myself getting that FragFX thing and really sit down with this one.

Both of those games don't come out till 2008 though. I think the best game that's gonna come out this year on the PS3 is Uncharted. The more I see of this game, the more I think it's gonna be the next big action/adventure game. Think Tomb Raider with a lot more emphasis on combat. The trailer for Lair was a mix, parts of looked it awesome, others kinda meh. My personal belief is that it may end up being too "big" for it's own good, and be pretty shallow in the gameplay department.

The trailer for Warhawk was awful. If that was the first one you've seen, you'd think the game was shit. Luckily, it isn't and I still think it's gonna be the best console multiplayer game for me (again, not a fan of console FPS's). I could definitely see myself wasting many hours playing Little Big Planet. Where was Heavenly Sword? For a game people are christening "Goddess of War", Sony should be pumping the hype machine into overdrive on this one.

All in all, I'd say Sony's lineup by Christmas will equal if not surpass that of the 360s, and both of them are leaving the Wii in the dust.

Finally catching up on what all went down today at E3. Seems like some good shit is going to be happening for the PS3. Looks like Killzone is really looked good. Of coarse we all knew MGS4 would be amazing.

I'm pumped at what's going to be happening in the coming months for the PS3.

Demos obviously arent the full game. THe full version might have coach mode, just look at thier website to see if its in the game.

Cant wait for ncaa on the ps3. There just arent alot of good games out for it now, but the end of the year seems things really get rolling.

well, I know it doesnt have a feature called "coach mode", it never has, but what I am talking about it where you do the play calling, audibles etc, hike the ball, and then let the computer run the play... on the demo it did that for every position except for the QB... not sure if they would remove that just for the demo

See i'm just not that big on heavenly sword. looks amazing but i'm not a fan of that type of game.

However, the new shots of Little big planet keep looking better, and better, and better. MGS4 trailer looks good too. So strange to say that game (little big planet) is a killer app, but damn me if when it doesnt come out I will be resisting all i have not to buy a ps3. When does it come out anyway?

I am disappointed with the lack of any upcoming RPGs in Sony's lineup. We know Final Fantasy XIII is still a ways out, but I was hoping for something about White Knight Story in the press conference. Hopefully we'll hear something from Level 5 before it's all said and done.

It is pretty underhanded, but I think people need to stop saying Sony is out of touch with the average consumer. I think they understand how the American shopper works better than we thought.

See, Americans are stupid. They'll buy anything as long as it's perceived to be a "good deal". $499.99 for the 60GB PS3 is still mighty expensive, but people have been buying them up like hotcakes since it happened. So let's say, right before X-mas, Sony drops the price the of the 80GB to $499.99, maybe adds on an extra controller or another game, all the while simultaneously releasing a new 120GB SKU at $599.99.

There is the "good deal" all the X-mas shoppers have been waiting for. Let's not forgot that Sony has well over 100 million Playstation fans out there just waiting for the right time to get their hands on Sony's new console.

actually, there are truly good deals going on with the 60gb ps3 right now.

On Amazon, you get a free blu-ray remote + memento blu-ray with purchase.
Combine that with the 5 free blu-rays for buying a blu-ray player promo, and you've got yourself 6 blu-rays, a blu-ray remote, and a 60gb ps3 for $499.

Circuit City also had a sale where you get an extra controller, making it $499 for a 60GB PS3, 2 controllers, and 5 blu-ray movies.


These account for 2 of the 3 'top retailers' that Sony mentioned when they said their sales have more than doubled. I am sure these deals, combined with the negative publicity that the X360 has been receiving over the failure rate + 3 year warranty issue, have pushed a lot of fence-sitters over to the PS3 side.
