^see problem that Vick will have is that if he is found guilty of any federal charges, he is going to have to face state charges as well. He has a long road ahead of him.

they may be big crimes to some people but to me they aren't...it's just dogfighting right? what that referee did was much worse, he was fucking with the integrity of the game. Now if i found out Mike Vick was fixing the dog fights then i'd be pissed because his credibility would be completely lost.

Hopefully Vick will just take a year off from football to clear his head while this case is being settled. It'll be kinda like when David Stern urged Michael Jordan to take some time off from the NBA while his gambling buzz died down.In the meantime Vick needs to work on finding some more legal hobbies. He needs to stay kinda low key and stay away from the thug shit like dogfighting and weed. He needs to find some new outlets other than weed, dogs, and hoes because his vices are causing him too many problems between the STD's, legal battles, etcHe should really study more film and come back ready to take the NFL by storm. It's sad to see such great natural football ability go to waste...

Brien Taylor ranks in that category.

I can't help but wonder if the FBI is probing into Clinton Portis' recreational outings over the past 5 yrs because of all this...

why did you feel the need to post the same thing twice using 2 different sources?
7/23/2007 8:48:47 PM
^first one didn't seem as credible to me. NFL.com is as credible as it gets.
7/23/2007 9:00:44 PM
so why even take the "we"ll let the legal system take it's course"?just wait to see how much heat they will take before having to take that extra step?

I always wondered how he could call himself an avid sports viewer and think vick was a decent quarterback.[Edited on July 24, 2007 at 8:14 AM. Reason : not marcus!11]

Falcons press conference on now.
7/24/2007 4:31:56 PM
yeah i've been watching the press conference - nothing major really
7/24/2007 4:32:51 PM
7/24/2007 4:34:12 PM
yeah, the whole innocent until proven guilty thing works on THE LEGAL SYSTEM not at YOUR JOB. If one of you were on a teen site soliciting, and you were caught and indicted, I'm sure you would be fired from your job.

^You can sue for unlawful termination. It's really hard to fire people these days. Even for something like this. They are protected unless the crime or punishment affects their performance.Or the crime was committed at work.[Edited on July 24, 2007 at 5:01 PM. Reason : edit]
7/24/2007 5:00:23 PM
^not in nc, you can be fired for any reason, no questions asked
7/24/2007 5:07:08 PM
you'd never win an unlawful termination suit in this case

Getting off topic I know but...Of course you can be fired for any reason. But being a Right to Work state doesn't mean you can't sue if you feel like you were fired for an unfair reason. And winning the lawsuit isn't the point. Companies (I'm talking about large public companies which is who I work for) don't want to be sued and get their name in the paper for firing someone unfairly.I've been through the process of trying to fire an engineer with 10 years experience. It took months of documenting reasons to fire the guy. Corporate lawyers were involved, etc. Everything was focused on avoiding a lawsuit. The guy was a good employee but convicted of child molestation. His contention was it didn't affect his work. But everyone at work wanted to kill the guy.

I just read through the indictment, and "Bad Newz Kennells" (Vicks Kennell, owned and operated with three other guys) has only a decent track record. Winning only 9 out of 15 fights, 60%. They won $23,600 and lost $37,000. And from the indictment, I counted 15 known dead dogs, and they said there were 54 live dogs that looked as if they had been fought with.
7/25/2007 4:55:36 PM
^ Once again, you can't strictly look at the numbers when you're evaluating Vick. He's never had great percentages(%). So to say he isn't a good kennel operator based on a small sample size of wins/losses isn't a good evaluation. You have to also account for his rushing yards and how he helps his team win. Maybe his dogs didnt have good trainers or the general manager didnt sign/draft good dogs.
7/25/2007 6:20:51 PM
i see what you did there
7/25/2007 6:25:46 PM
^^ haha, that's goodAlthough, after reading the indictment, there has got to be more money on the line than just want was found. Makes you wonder how much he has won/lost on this shit! I can only hope he gets prison time!
7/25/2007 11:16:34 PM
man this is hilarious. I can't believe people are so fucking stupid. Even if he wasn't as involved as the feds think, how can you be so stupid as to still hang around these people, much less let them live in your property. As far as I'm concerned he should be punished if only because he is so damn ignorant.
7/26/2007 11:14:02 AM
hes in trouble for dog fighting, probably goiing to be suspsended maybe even kicked out of the conference
7/26/2007 11:16:32 AM
^ oh, he's back . . . .
7/26/2007 11:19:02 AM
Heres a column by the esteemed writer, Deion Sanders. Maybe we can all learn a little about compasion from him.
7/26/2007 1:08:50 PM
This is seems to be an accurate portrayal of the situation, but at the same time, it all boils down to this...did Vick own the property? YES Did Vick know about the dogfighting on his property? YES Did Vick illegally gamble on dogs? YES Did Vick knowingly do all of this? YES Did Vick commit crimes against the state? YES Is all of this proveable in court? MAYBE I hope that every juror is a member of PETA and Vick serves time in a Federal Pen.
7/26/2007 1:33:54 PM
Deon, once again, proves that he needs more education. I was listening to ESPN radio and some of the callers came to the defense of deon. Then to the defense of Vick. Is it me or is this thing more divided on racial lines than people actually want to admit.
