haven't had a good time uptown during new years in recent past. seeking other alternatives this year
12/18/2007 3:16:56 PM
if they're doing fire works where they did for the 4th man we may just need to roll a keg into my joint(they exploded almost directly over head) but i doubt that... i still think a party at my place would be fun though.
12/18/2007 4:18:12 PM
anybody know a good lawyer? i need to get a ticket dropped and a warrant off my record in SC details]
12/18/2007 8:01:50 PM
I think a s.c. lawyer might be more helpful.the best lawyers are in the local good ole boy network thus charges magically disappear.
12/21/2007 3:11:29 PM
NYE plans anyone?
12/27/2007 10:43:20 AM
I'm debating on going to Alley Cats, Ri Ra's, or Hom for new yearswhat about you?
12/27/2007 12:11:38 PM
probably stay near ballantyne in some form or fashion - not going to drink and drive and don't feel like the hassle of taxi's on new years, or trying to mess with the light rail.it's times like this I wish I lived closer to uptown. I'm mostly happy I don't, though
12/27/2007 11:11:20 PM
so it would appear that bgt's finances will force a charlotte based new years evei will entertain suggestions now, thanks

Going ice skating with the woman in uptown tonight! They have an outdoor rink in a park. Can we try to be more like NYC?
1/4/2008 12:17:28 PM
that's neat, hadn't heard about that. you have to bring your own skates or what?
1/4/2008 12:33:07 PM
I hope it was gambling debt, and not what I heard from a cop.
1/4/2008 1:01:28 PM
you can't be sayin shit like that and not offer up additional insight
1/4/2008 1:40:32 PM
that park is getting demolished soon so they'll have to find someplace new for it next year.oddly the name of the place they're building on it is called Brooklyn Villiage. so still trying to be like nyc.hey... how about a subway fellas that would be nice.
1/4/2008 2:11:14 PM
you can't say something like that and not tell us what you heard.
1/4/2008 2:12:50 PM
It's called brooklyn village in reference for teh neighborhood that was torn down in le corbusian urban renewal a few decades ago. I would assume the original neighborhood was named this in reference to NY, however.[Edited on January 4, 2008 at 2:50 PM. Reason : Cop told me there is and idea of him being made a gang slave being tossed around]
1/4/2008 2:48:13 PM
name me one fucking large city in the US thats not "trying to be like NYC"
1/4/2008 2:53:48 PM
Also the ice rink is on the green..........not marshal park
1/4/2008 2:55:44 PM
ohhh someone told me thats where it was... i don't really know.
1/4/2008 3:20:52 PM
Does anyone in Charlotte have a truck? I may be looking to purchase a new couch + chair/ottoman off of Craigslist and may be renting a truck from Home Depot/Lowe's to haul the stuff. I would much rather pay someone off here for their gas and time instead of renting a truck from a store, though.I'd potentially be looking to do this either Sat or Sunday, or even Friday night if it fit your schedule - I'm checking things out tonight.I could fit the ottoman in my car for sure, and perhaps the chair as well depending on dimensions. I just can't fit the couch!
1/10/2008 12:58:58 PM
this is charlotte. you put that shit on your roof with some rope and duck tape.
1/10/2008 1:15:39 PM

1/10/2008 1:30:33 PM
I went in an apt at the avenues yesterday...they are pretty nice!!

so what does everybody think of the light rail? its pretty nice to shoot downtown and get some dinner or drinks or whatever, but i wish the last train left after 1:15 or whenever it stops running...need to stop service at like 3am or somethinalso those tall lights outside 7th street station and some other stations that you can hit and they light up and some noise plays out of the speaker are the shit
1/15/2008 5:16:53 PM
dude my friends and i have been playing the 7th street station game for a year now... best drunk game around
1/15/2008 7:03:35 PM
dude my friends and i have been playing the 7th street station game for like three years now... best drunk game aroundAs for the light rail, I think it definitely needs to run later. You can't close down a bar and still get a train, and really, what's the difference between 115 and 215?Other than using it to take a group uptown for drinking or a game though, it really has limited use. I can walk to the station, but driving is so easy and cheap in this city there's no motivation for me to take it otherwise.Parking at 7th St. is only 5 bucks most nights, maybe 10 for games and events. So it's not really cheaper taking the train, or faster....so why take it?[Edited on January 16, 2008 at 10:55 AM. Reason : ]
1/16/2008 10:55:21 AM
SO YOU DON'T GET A DWI
1/16/2008 11:17:41 AM
Right, hence the : "Other than using it to take a group uptown for drinking or a game though, it really has limited use."
