OK ladies....here's a question about heels etc...So there are two seemingly identical pairs of Michael Kors shoes that are on sale and even though I don't need them, I'm sure I will one day and at $89 I can't pass it up. But I'm trying to figure out the differences in the shoes and the only obvious difference (other than the name) is that one has a 'stacked heel'. ?? Also, the 'raceway' ones are also on Zappos, but not the others (and they're full price, so as you can see, it's hard to pass up) platform pump andraceway pump

$89 is not a good deal for a shoe so heavy with legs so thin.
7/14/2006 1:41:04 PM
you mean 'heels' so thin or my actual legs? Cause I've got shoes much heavier than that and my legs aren't sticks ya know
7/14/2006 1:43:52 PM
I really don't think there is enough of a difference to matter. I think they probably just made more or less the same shoes with two different names hoping they could make shopaholics buy both pairs.

I just bought some really cute Marc Jacobs loafers. Well, it looks like a cross between a loafer and a moccasin, so I can them moccafers. They are lined with shearling and reallly super soft to wear to work. They are like this, but mine are tan.http://www.jildorshoes.com/product.cfm/hurl/664170_Black_Leather_Loafer/PI=37404

has anyone ever gotten acrylic on their toe nails? One of my broke almost down to the cuticle and I got a pedicure today. She told me that it would be best to put acrylic on there so that it wouldn't get ripped off. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake by doing it.
7/15/2006 7:24:31 PM
m2c, the platform pump's toe shape/cut-in is more flattering, IMO. the heel looks a bit different, otherwise that's the only difference between the two. and, by pictures, the platform looks like a better material.

^^how's that acrylic toe nail going?

anyone have a recommendation for a good hair stylist? nothing funky like the thread in the lounge...i think the woman i see is very shy about cutting hair/scared so when i ask for long layers i basically don't get what i ask for. i think if i went to a nicer place i'd get the cut i'm looking for...
8/3/2006 11:40:52 AM
design gallery.seriously.
8/3/2006 11:55:47 AM
^agree, my hair is layered also and I love how the design gallery does it-- I dont go anywhere else
8/3/2006 12:09:36 PM
^^2ndi love how they cut my hair, and i'm so going back
8/3/2006 12:11:38 PM
They finally did the layers I'd always envisioned
8/3/2006 12:11:52 PM
Yesterday was the first time I'd ever gone to the doctor and been able to answer the question "When was your last period"
8/3/2006 12:40:40 PM
do you not normally get one..?if so, i'm kinda jealous
8/3/2006 12:45:27 PM
yeah if i didn't have a family member coming into town next weekend who has given me the best cuts ever, i'd go to design gallery.but i'm much happier with a free cut from mi tia!i just have to figure out what the hell i want. i know i don't want too much length gone, mostly just getting all the dead and split ends gone. but what's something i can do that'll be an update w/o losing a LOT of hair? suggestions?
8/3/2006 1:05:13 PM
where's the Design Gallery? I shall check this place out
8/3/2006 1:41:07 PM
near the bowling alley on hills.
8/3/2006 1:43:38 PM
lk, it's beside reverieand i'm glad people love it so much brandy is one of my favorite girls in the world
8/3/2006 1:44:41 PM
I recommended this girl in the funky thread in the lounge because she does really well in that area, but I'm seriously not funky. She did a great job on my blonde highlights and bouncy cut. Nothing funky there.http://www.myspace.com/chameleonstudioHer location is just off of Falls @ Strickland (I believe that's how I got there)SHe may be at the Design Gallery or it may be Stylist Studios (I just don't remember)[Edited on August 3, 2006 at 3:01 PM. If anyone lives in Durham/Chapel Hill, this place is great to go to:http://www.cajusalon.com/home.htmlMy stylist Barbara is fantastic, and all the ladies there are really nice and personable. One thing is, though, you have to make an appointment, way in advance, or else get lucky. In October of last year, I only managed to get an appointment for late November because someone had cancelled to go on a cruise, otherwise they would'nt have had anything until after New Year's.Has anyone ever been to DS Parada?
8/3/2006 3:04:30 PM
No, i get one, i just don't keep track of it. My boy knows better than I do.

So I was playing around on craigslist and look at this bad boy... :OGORGEOUS 1 Carat Trillion Cut Diamond Engagement Ring - $2500This beautiful sparkler is approximately 1.10 carat weight, set in 14k yellow gold mount. The mount itself is unusual in the fact that it makes a ¾ twist which shows off this beautiful gem perfectly. It is a shallow cut diamond which gives it more surface area and appears much larger than a 1 carat stone. It is an I in color, IS2 in clarity, brilliant cut and breath taking to behold. If this is to be a surprise gift I can have it professionally cleaned and polished, no problem. I am asking $2,500.00 OBO. I hate to part with this beauty but I must sacrifice in order to assist my disabled mother with the closing costs for her home. Serious inquiries only please. I don't normally like funky rings, but that ring is pretty damn cool.Just don't like the fact that it is yellow gold.
8/3/2006 3:31:43 PM
my gf would LOVE that ring...but i don't need it right now
8/3/2006 3:34:42 PM
Yellow gold plus diamonds is pretty spiffy.. I kinda like white gold in general though. oo and sapphireheh.
8/3/2006 3:39:27 PM
any of yall got tips on cleaning...i'm trying to make my apartment look nice and i've always been under the impression cleaning was for women
8/3/2006 3:41:13 PM
that and cooking.and laundry.[Edited on August 3, 2006 at 3:42 PM. Reason : .]
8/3/2006 3:42:15 PM
that ring..........<3! except for the fact that it's yellow gold.and cleaning isn't just for wimmenz. but first step is to probably organize the place. like, if you have junk that belongs in your bedroom out in the living room, get that situated, etc.
8/3/2006 3:42:38 PM
^^ If you have a lot of wood furniture, get Liquid Gold. Pricey, but makes your furniture look brand new and makes any room look great just by that little tiny step. Yes... Emily... I want either a white gold or platinum ring and round because that is the best cut...But damn if that ring isn't beautiful.
8/3/2006 3:46:40 PM

1) target has a HUGE clearance on socks, partial hosiery, and merona tights right now.2) because of said clearance, I just acquired an alarming number of different sorts of hosiery. I'm open to suggestions on how to organize that + my other stuff. I think I'm gonna have to get rid of some clothes soon
8/13/2006 11:02:45 PM
just take over some of matt's closet space that being said, i'm going to target for this sale tomorrow!
8/13/2006 11:09:05 PM
