you'll want to kill yourself on a 250offer homeboy like 1200 for the gs500if he doesn't bite, oh well - maybe you can get him to do 1500if he still doesn't bite, you'll find another one[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 12:07 PM. Reason : good bikes gs500s]
4/6/2006 12:06:16 PM
Alright, thanks. I emailed the guy a little while ago, so I'll see if it's still up for sale before I do any questioning. Thanks for the advice too, that's what I need as much as a bike itself. So that gs500 would be a good bike for me to start out with (and learn to ride on)? Any notorious problems with them?Along those lines, I need to learn to ride a bike. I've never driven one, but I've driven a manual ATV and my car is a stick, so that concept isn't new to me...just need to get a feel for what I'm doing specifically so I can test drive something without looking like an idiot. If any of you have a beater and some time that you wouldn't mind learning me on, I'll pay you or trade something, or at least I'll flatter you and boost your ego
4/6/2006 12:17:51 PM
how much. i might be able to help you out[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 12:20 PM. Reason : dont need by ego boosted prefer cash. my ego is much more inflated than my wallet as is]
4/6/2006 12:19:31 PM
I don't know man, I'm a broke sumbitch and scraping up the cash for a bike is going to be tough, but name your price and I'll see if I can do italso, a guy responded to me in my classifieds "WTB: motorcycle" thread with this:
4/6/2006 2:08:12 PM
if 1500 is your limithe won't be willing to drop that low
4/6/2006 2:33:02 PM
well if it's the right bike and i can take out a loan, then i could go a little higher. i'm mainly interested in the 1500 or less range, but if i find something that is PERFECT for me that's a bit more, i'll see what i can do as far as financing it on my end
4/6/2006 2:34:26 PM
you don't want to take a loan on your first bike
4/6/2006 2:39:06 PM
you're right, i don't want to that's why i'm pretty firm on my 1500 limit, just saying that other possibilities arent COMPLETELY out of the question. and "loan" might mean hitting up my old man for some temporary cash, though i'd rather remove my left nut with a rusty steel cabledo you know of any good entry-level bikes in that range i could be looking for? any that i should particularly avoid? and i'm still looking for someone to teach me to ride (where of course some sort of compensation will be offered)[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 2:45 PM. Reason : .]
4/6/2006 2:44:06 PM
i'm telling youthe gs500 is perfectthats why i bought another oneits real easy in the low rpm's, so you won't scare yoursefl off the bike at the beginningbut (for me at least) has enough power at the top end that you can still have funi mean, it won't be the bike i stick with forever obviouslybut for now, shits perfect
4/6/2006 4:01:47 PM
4/6/2006 4:29:15 PM
^^ yeah, i'd really like that bike but he's already sold it...i've got dibs if that falls through but it looks like it's gone ^ i dont know dude, i have no idea...20 bucks would be as much as i could possibly afford right now, would that work?
4/6/2006 5:38:39 PM

4/6/2006 5:50:08 PM

4/7/2006 12:44:10 PM
^his shit is ugly, semi-broken, but it works, and you won't kill yourself. And it has a wheelie bar and crash cage too! So if you lay it down, you'll only hurt yourself.

4/10/2006 8:18:46 AM
vlad, stop testing out how durable your crash cage is. Atleast now we all know it can take a 100mph spill and save the bike (minus the windscreen).
4/10/2006 9:36:31 AM
doesn't someone have that on video?? i want to see the crash and the crash cage at work so that i could get one like that for my bike
4/10/2006 10:32:42 AM
i've had 2 cages and havent regretted either, on my gsxr igor wheelied into my bike knocking it over, cage saved teh fairings, on the r6 well u know that one.when are u gonna get a bike?
4/10/2006 11:04:31 AM
i am hoping before may i have found a guy that is selling a nice sv650s for 4500 that i am probly going to get...when my money comes in.

I got a new pit bike 110 cc 4spd. Same one as you guys prolly seen on creigslist for $500 cash. less then 1 tank of gas ran in it. Just like brand new!
4/11/2006 8:26:41 PM
i ran into a guy that's selling a '94 (i think, may be '95) Ninja 250 for about 1100...Keeping in mind I'm looking for a beginner bike, what do you all think of that? I haven't seen it and didn't get a chance to talk to the guy in detail about the bike's condition, but he was driving a newer bike so I'm assuming he's just getting rid of his learner. It would definitely be a good bike to learn on, but I'd like to be able to take in on the highway or anywhere else I'd take my car. I'm ~215lbs, so is a 250 going to be able to keep up?
4/11/2006 8:40:12 PM
i think they'll go like 75 or so, but $800 sounds more like it
4/11/2006 10:24:41 PM
