Mabry to Rhode Island according to statefansnation
5/20/2010 1:09:52 AM
Javi's a fucking senior. He's not going anywhere. Good sentiments for a guy that's given his sweat and blood for the Red & White. He's helped us win a number of games, and will also probably be the starter to begin next year. Yeah let's just get rid of the only other PG on the roster.
5/20/2010 1:11:38 AM
yeah thats retarded. javi will make a great backup pointguard
5/20/2010 1:37:38 AM
The only real criticism I have of Javi are those tremendously boneheaded frustration fouls he is prone to commit every few games or so.

Wolfood98=mambagrl EXPOSED!!
5/20/2010 2:59:10 AM
i'm wondering if Mabry left the state just to get away from all the criticism. i grew up in a small town and if i was ever accused of something like that, innocent or not, i can't imagine how hard it would have been.I don't have any real criticism of Javi, at point during the season last year, he was Latin Fire personified. He's always cared even when he was surrounded by a bunch of losers.[Edited on May 20, 2010 at 9:23 AM. Reason : a]

Always felt like Javi has improved a great deal year to year as well... more just the typical improvement a player makes simply being one year older(he was pretty terrible when he first got on the court). If he makes similar improvements to his game going into this year he'll be an important piece and he also plays with a ton of emotion, something that the team has lacked from some players over the past few season. Love how we get a few nice recruits and people want to get rid of half our roster as if we'll only get 5 star recruits for the rest of time. Depth is good, injuries happen, and roll players that work hard are always needed.
5/20/2010 9:51:15 AM
viva javi!

Mays had his moments sometimes with the lane penetration and teardrop layups. It's unfortunate that he was sort of forced into ball-handling duties. His basketball IQ was noticeable - I could tell he was thinking on the court. I just think his talent and atleticism didn't match it. Overall he just wasn't an ACC caliber guard. Javi has been the glue for this team the past few years. His service is definitely appreciated and he has my respect. He stepped in as a freshman PG and played with veterans Grant, Costner, Fells, and McCaully. The team today is completely different.Ryan is going to push him and only make him better for his senior year. Hopefully Javi's experience and confidence combined with Ryan's quickness, handle, and athleticism will be a good balance.

it was by the village idiot Wolfood98 what do you expectin an ideal world the mods would terminate wolfood98, lafta and mambagrl, but for some reason they continue to let those idiots roam the website making dumbass comments like that

Sucks...No Mabry next season."Rocky Mount High basketball standout Tashawn Mabry has told the Telegram that he will play for the University of Rhode Island next season."http://www.rockymounttelegram.com/leadsports/mabry-chooses-uri-19872[Edited on May 20, 2010 at 10:53 AM. Reason : link]

Probably for the best
5/20/2010 11:00:06 AM
Something is really weird with the Mabry situation. If he's so good, why does Scout only rate him as a 2*?
5/20/2010 11:16:17 AM
I said it before and I'll say it again. Bringing Mabry to this program would have brought some absolutely unnecessary baggage to the program. We are turning over a new leaf with the class we have and we certainly don't need Mabry's issues of hanging out with people involved in a murder. We don't need that kind of attention, regardless of whether he is innocent or not.
5/20/2010 11:44:12 AM
^ Agree completely. I wish him well at RI
5/20/2010 1:21:17 PM
Armour, I could not give two shits about your sentiments but for everyone else, if you dumb shits remember from I believe it was halfway through the season, there was a HUGE article in the News & Observer about Lowe being disappointed in Javi b/c it seemed as if he had given up in practice and was not putting in the effort as alot of the other guys. So he's a god-damn upper classmen and to be called out in the fucking media by your coach, and even a couple of our players stated that they thought his head would be out of the game at a handful of games last season, and Im suppose to be all happy about this little shit who only gives his all to the squad when he see's fit, well you guys can all go fuck yourselves, b/c it's not happening! I 'know' Javi is not leaving 'under-armor', I was saying my previous statement b/c I wished he was leaving! Carry on with your chat....

I wish Lowe & company would have been able to lure Mabry to Raleigh as well, but I hope he does big things for the Rams up north in RI.

7th ranked class according to ESPN
5/20/2010 2:23:20 PM
it would be pretty cool if like Evtimov, Harrow and Brown and Leslie got 6 years of elibigilitybut without any injuries, just that they could play for us for 6 years
5/20/2010 2:51:37 PM
Man It would be fucking awesome if Evtimov was granted a 6th year of eligibility to come in with this class! What is he up to now??
5/20/2010 3:06:03 PM
i think he's playing ball overseasbut you must've missed the point of my postEvitmov already had 6 years of eligibility because of two medical redshirtsI'm saying I wish our highly touted freshman could somehow play 6 years, but they cant

^^^ http://marquette.scout.com/a.z?s=415&p=8&c=1&nid=1577721Interesting news. 4-star recruit coming out of high school c/o '07. If he came here, it would be his 4th college to play basketball at. He went to JUCO between Marquette and Minnesota. But do we need more legal baggage in the headlines? Charged with felony assault - damn.
5/21/2010 10:54:11 AM
Update on Kevin Noreen (record setting big man scorer from Minnesota that got released from his letter at BC)He would likely have to lose a year of eligibility if going to another ACC school, Carolina and NC State were interested, but it seems like a long shot now.Forward Kevin Noreen Likely Prohibited From Playing with ACC Suitorshttp://bleacherreport.com/articles/393273-forward-kevin-noreen-likely-prohibited-from-playing-with-acc-suitors
5/21/2010 10:55:49 AM
does anyone else think its strange that out of Mbakwe's huge list of interested school coming out of high school we were no where to be found, but all of a sudden we are one of 2-3 schools he mentions being interested in transferring to? You would think he would want to transfer to another school that was heavily recruiting himoh well, just my two cents
5/21/2010 12:26:03 PM
Were we ever on Painter's list before he decommitted from Florida?
5/21/2010 12:38:24 PM
mbakwe played with hickson in aau, I imagine that's our link
5/21/2010 12:54:12 PM
^3I believe that it is all situational. We have spots that he thinks that he can fit in and have some PT and exposure. The felony assault charge, guilty or not is the deal breaker for me. I do not care, he is an athlete representing his university. He should act like one. However if I was a coach and had that attitude I would end up with a team like Butler....oh wait, they are good! [Edited on May 21, 2010 at 1:12 PM. Reason : !]
