nope. I would say that most don't. I remember messing around with an Ithica 37 similar to the clone in the video, and I remember shooting it like that from the hip into a huge empty field. Forearm piece will jump out of your hand after it fires if you aren't careful. Your arm's momentum is still moving forward as the gun recoils, causing you to lose your grip.

Dad (was a gunner on a c130 in nam) cut a Man in half with one of those doing just that. (Not used to seeing the enemy less than a few hundred yards away and they got shot down)

toying with having Fuquay order me a Tikka T3, with walnut stock, in .270 WIN...
7/6/2013 7:22:10 PM
i've got one. T3 Lite in .270. stainless and synthetic. i'll sell it if you'll give me what it's actually worth.with that said, there's no way i'd buy one when you can get a new FN Model 70 for about the same money.
7/6/2013 8:13:40 PM
I just bought that Aim Point Pro to put on my new PS90...
7/6/2013 10:22:09 PM
FUCK! That's awesome!I've love to own a PS90, or much less shoot one. I've only held them in stores and I love the bullpup design. Just something different from the everyday AK/AR variants.
7/6/2013 10:24:57 PM
P2000?I want one
7/6/2013 11:12:23 PM
I'm finding 5.56 rounds very interesting to reload lately. Did you know you can fire double the suggested grain round with standard powder loads and still stay within pressure tolerances? this gives the 556, gas operated, a pentrateting power almost as high as the .270 remington. *which I do not underestimate here* the fouling is comparable to ball loads. It makes me wonder why bushmaster even bothered with the .30 cal gas extension. I'm using non mag primers and getting, if anything, fewer misfires with these loads. I thought the pressures would be dangerous but the standard ar 15 lead is simply amazing
7/6/2013 11:15:16 PM
how are you measuring pressure?[Edited on July 6, 2013 at 11:26 PM. Reason : and i have no idea what .270 remington is]
7/6/2013 11:23:14 PM
Must be .270 win
7/6/2013 11:41:42 PM
eh its what my reloading manual calls it.i've got four. one is really old but seems to give better patterns with it's listed loads. I measure pressure with a contact thermometer. its actually the most reliable way to measure energy. i got no more than 3 degrees C difference. but by god don't trust my loads for your rifles
7/7/2013 3:08:08 AM
Yeah my first thought was if you are getting 270 power out of you 5.56 what kind of bolt are you using in your 5.56?
7/7/2013 7:45:57 AM
the bullshit he's posting is absolutely ridiculous. i can't tell if he's trolling or what. measuring pressure with a thermometer? "double the suggested grain round"? i'm not even going to address these statements. suffice it to say that nothing he has posted makes any damn sense and some of it is downright dangerous.
7/7/2013 12:31:48 PM
Yeah I know I just want to figure out wtf he's accomplishing or thinks he is. I know an ar-10 can fire 270 and its bolt is massive In comparison to an ar-15
7/7/2013 3:00:51 PM
you're not gonna fit a cartridge from the .30-06 family in an AR-10, but that's beside the point.if he was really measuring kinetic energy, all he'd need is a chronograph. he can come borrow mine. KE=.5*m*v^2 and we'll see if he's really getting .270 Winchester energy out of his .223 Rem.[Edited on July 7, 2013 at 5:00 PM. Reason : but i'm gonna make sure i'm standing waaaaaaaaaaaay back]pressure is measured with strain gauge test rigs that cost a shit pile. i have no idea what he's measuring the temperature of, but rest assured that it has no correlation with pressure.[Edited on July 7, 2013 at 5:08 PM. Reason : adfs][Edited on July 7, 2013 at 5:17 PM. Reason : sounds like he has spent too much time talking to Ricky the Reloader at the range]
7/7/2013 4:59:28 PM
Brain fart thought .260.
7/7/2013 5:53:54 PM
Please forgive if this is a stupid question, but could someone recommend where I might find .30 carbine at a reasonable price in Raleigh? Not too picky about the brand... I see a couple of threads on CSC, but all private sales.
7/7/2013 11:47:11 PM
What's wrong with a private sale? That is my preferred way of gun buying. No gun store mouth breathers to deal with.
7/8/2013 7:40:42 AM
Not a huge problem with FTF, but would prefer to start getting an idea of where to find it and what market price is. I know next to nothing about this cartridge, so knowing its scarcity in this area would be a good start for me.
7/8/2013 10:49:55 PM
its going to be pricey no matter whati have quite a few m1s and clones (and a ruger blackhawk in this caliber)i can give advice about what to stay away from (like aquila)although it varies from gun to gun (blackhawk loves it, m1s hate it) IMOblackhawk hates GI ammo (and wolf/tula)my m1s function well with wolf (which confuses me)let me know your weapon and price range and maybe we can figure something out
7/9/2013 12:22:54 AM
aguila generally makes good ammo. what don't you like about it?
7/9/2013 7:49:10 AM
it runs fine in my blackhawk, not so much the m1s.FTE about every 4th round. tested in multiple guns.steel case wolf 30 carbine feeds in the same guns without a hitch (amazingly).all other brands brass ammo ive tried run well (including GI).
7/9/2013 9:40:38 AM
It appears to be a mashup Inland/Korean M1. (Want to check stampings again once I get home to be absolutely certain.) I was informed that all-matching Inlands can be worth a good bit more than mashups, so I was a bit skeptical about whether I ought to shoot it. Superb condition - well oiled and maintained. Have both the full stock and a folding one with handguards for both. Bayonet, magazines, the whole 10 yards. I'm a little dismayed that the bolt doesn't lock open (at least that I can figure out how to accomplish yet), so I guess I've become accustomed to more "modern" actions. Price and scarcity of ammo are a big motivating factor for me to know whether or not I want to shoot it.
7/9/2013 4:34:18 PM
button on the charging handle.alternatively sometimes there is a little lever not on the bolt but rather on the track the bolt rides on (near the back). cant find a picture of that one. more common on clones methinks.
7/9/2013 10:05:31 PM
Just looked at some guns today. I can't wait to make some purchases.

If you ever get your order, and don't get one of the 20% with terrible triggers.

^ they seem to be shipping in 3-4 days now, and i've never used one of their triggers. i think the only GI trigger i have came with my BCM
7/11/2013 1:55:48 AM
I have searched all over my M1, and the only stampings I'm seeing are Inland. Are there any stampings under the handguard...? I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Sometimes AR parts with shit engraved or stamped into them make me roll my eyes. ...but I really want a free-float tube inscribed with "SHOULDER THING THAT GOES UP"
7/13/2013 12:35:59 AM
Just sometimes? It screams tacti-cool to me which I use as a derogatory term.I have a nice ar because its utilitarian, like a 10/22 for grow ups. But it isn't my attempt to get fame at the gun range like a lot of people's.
7/13/2013 7:11:44 AM
went to a gun show today picked up my first AR (PSA) for 7 bills :grintried to trade in my 870 but no one wanted to buy

I actually saw 22LR ammo for sale in a store today. It was 14¢/round, but I actually saw it. It was the first I have actually seen in person other than a single 50 round box of el cheapo Remington 22LR that PDHSC wanted 45¢/round for.

Anyone know/have/can find the link to that one German/Austrian guy who is an expert boar hunter? I think he even uses a bolt action and can take down like 5 or 6 boars running at full speed in a pack with a single shot each.[Edited on July 15, 2013 at 10:45 PM. Reason : .]
