PUNTER!!!

When he punts will it rotate in the opposite direction?
7/18/2018 4:21:50 PM
The pack insider article refers to him multiple times as being Austrian. -__-

Sounds like DD hasn't completely ruled out Payton Wilson returning this season.^Ha!
7/19/2018 1:06:38 PM
I mean if he can play at the end of the year/bowl game he can still redshirt now. But there's no reason to rush him back.
7/19/2018 1:07:50 PM
Agreed. His priority should be recovering so he can get in to Thunder Dan's program. Any actual playing time would just be icing.

In Re in State recruiting: I understand that somehow the cost of a scholarship has gone up (I think it was from the Yow article in The Wolfpacker) but I dont recall why. 1. Does getting an in state guy somehow save the university money? 2 Where does that $$$ come from?

Holy shit that was not expected, nice!My only worry is that if this was a "you better commit before someone else takes your spot," those commitments seem to be more unstable.4 of the state's top 10 players with a small, but non-negligible, chance at 2 more [Edited on July 25, 2018 at 4:48 PM. 7/25/2018 4:43:03 PM
I'm assuming UNC pulled his offer this morning.
7/25/2018 4:53:05 PM
^ lol^^ I mean, that could be true, but it sounds like he was potentially gonna wait out his spots at State and Clemson (they were the other team perceived to be a finalist for him, right?) so maybe he finally realized that. Also, which rankings are you looking at? Not trying to start an argument, just curious... I assumed Crouch and Walker were the two others in the top 10 you mentioned but I can't find any rankings that have Battle + 3 other current commits in the top 10. It seems like the different services are disagreeing a lot this year.
7/25/2018 5:08:16 PM
red light, y'all
7/25/2018 5:11:23 PM
^^ Jackson is in everyone's top 10. Clark and Harris are in several others. JR Walker is basically down to us and USC and he's in some top 10s.
7/25/2018 7:59:49 PM
that's what I meant... I wasn't sure if there was a single service (maybe Rivals, I rarely look at theirs so that may be the one) that had Jackson, Clark, Harris, and Battle all top 10. and yeah, assumed he was talking about Crouch and Walker as the other two that we have a shot at, but again, hard to remember which ones are top 10 where (except Crouch, Jackson, and Howell).
7/25/2018 8:21:18 PM
Rivals yea. And I was thinking crouch and freshwater
7/25/2018 8:28:54 PM
Freshwater is goin to ECU because of grades
7/26/2018 1:07:02 AM
Plenty of time to get those grades up
7/26/2018 7:18:32 AM
Apparently not enough
7/26/2018 8:13:09 AM
Says who? He hasn't committed and we haven't filled up
7/26/2018 9:23:49 AM
Sounds like Freshwater has some SERIOUS grade issues. To the point he went from a lock to commit to our staff is no longer recruiting him. I know our staff tries to avoid iffy grade situations(everyone qualified in 2018), but with his talent I figured they'd just slow-play him and tell him to focus on grades and he'd have a slot. Battle commitment should stick. If Clemson misses on Booth(4* CB), I think they try to reach out to Battle but I'm not sure if he'd flip. Have to remember most thought he was going to commit to us back in the March/April time-frame and then Clemson(and some other big programs) offered and it muddied the waters a bit. Feel like it's been NCSU/Clemson as his top 2 for a long time now and barring a disaster of a season I think it should stick. Obviously if we somehow pulled the upset and landed Burrell today, that could change things up a bit, but I found it interesting that Battle said he could be playing CB, Nickel, or S for us. Will be interesting to see who all turns up to the Alpha Wolf event tomorrow, sounds like most of are 2019 commits are going but also some of our top 2020 targets. Will be interesting to see if we can convince Crouch to show up.
7/26/2018 9:34:56 AM
When was the last time a Wolfpack program had so much success on the recruiting trail over a short period like this? It’s insane.Sounds like the big time OT for next years class is pretty solid to state? Forget his name but I think he plays at Sanderson or something like thatPlz to avoid nc state shit this upcoming season. Totally feels like a setup for us to be over the moon and then somehow lose 7-8 games and have the whole thing fall apart.
7/26/2018 11:59:41 AM
I think Burrell announces tomorrow. Would be a shock if he doesn't sign with muh goddamn vols.
7/26/2018 12:02:27 PM
kinda pissed we won't get traveon freshwater...i mean, that's a hell of a name.
7/26/2018 1:50:49 PM
Good summary of the remaining top recruits in NC. Looks like we have a great chance at landing any of the following:Tyus Fields - Hough High, Cornelius, CBJ.R. Walker - Clayton High, AthleteTraveon Freshwater - Northeastern High, Elizabeth City, ILBSounds like we are in the drivers seat for Walker, and Fields lists us as his top 2. As mentioned earlier in the thread, a lot of the experts are predicting Tidewater to ECU, which would be huge for them.Would be awesome if we were able to flip any of the other guys on that list.https://www.newsobserver.com/sports/article215506430.html
7/26/2018 1:52:05 PM
How did the Cord Sandberg visit go?
7/26/2018 2:17:41 PM
With the Battle commitment, I'm not sure we have a spot for Fields anymore.
7/26/2018 2:23:37 PM
Welcome aboard the Wolfpack train!!! Keep the recruits coming.
7/26/2018 10:02:55 PM
Of the 3 listed above, pretty sure we stopped recruiting Fields and Freshwater a while back. Names to worry about right now: QB: Johnson Jr, Fomby, the 23 year old kid that played baseballDE: Jones and DawkinsLB: CrouchS: JR WalkerBurrell technically but he should be announcing for UT at noon today. This recruiting is focusing on keeping our current guys in the fold and looking at 2020 guys.
7/27/2018 9:47:24 AM
Johnson Jr seems like a real long shot at this point, right?
7/27/2018 1:15:15 PM
sup?
7/27/2018 1:27:34 PM
lol
7/27/2018 1:56:48 PM
Couple of the top 2020 guys have already backed out of tonight. Bingley jones is going to UF instead and moose mohamed is no longer coming
7/27/2018 2:01:13 PM
Fire Doeren
7/27/2018 5:27:22 PM
Also luke doty not able to make it up.Porter rooks and mitchell mayes already in the murphy center and jacolbe cowan supposed to be coming for 3 of the top 5 in state for 2020 however, so still good stuff
7/27/2018 5:52:49 PM
CB Tyus Fields chose Tennessee.
7/29/2018 12:10:20 AM
Fields chose UT over non-commitable offers from Clemson and NCSU. Johnson Jr deciding on Wednesday but don't think we have any shot.Sounds like we lead for JR Walker again, but don't think he's moved up his commitment timeframe. I think the coaches definitely wanted more of the 2020 guys, but they had all but 2 of our '19 commits and our 2 top realistic targets in Walker and Dawkins. Land those 2 and a QB and it's a hell of a class.
7/29/2018 2:18:16 PM
Walker set his OV with nc state for 2 weeks prior to his xommitment date. Prevailing thought is that we will get the last OV. Only other two set up are to UNC for their game against UCF and south carolina for their game against georgia
7/29/2018 9:59:09 PM
Problem with Walker is that he's basically admitted that he tends to favor the last school he visited. Just need to get through his USC OV without him committing. I could see USC going all-in on trying to get him to commit while he's there and avoid another Savion Jackson incident.
7/30/2018 9:27:55 AM
Pretty sure we're back in the lead with Walker after the Alpha Wolf Showcase.
7/30/2018 10:11:54 AM
^Oh we are, but he himself admitted that it's because he just visited here and before our visit he was favoring USC. He's visiting USC as his first OV and my guess is they're going to push really hard to get him to commit and not give us the chance to host him.
7/30/2018 9:04:33 PM
3* Terrell Dawkins DE just committed
8/2/2018 7:36:15 PM
#2 DT in the state. We now have the #1 and 2 DEs and DTs committed. He had offers from Notre Dame, Florida, UT, UGA and Ohio State.[Edited on August 2, 2018 at 9:14 PM. Reason : 1]
8/2/2018 9:10:14 PM
Weird
8/3/2018 4:06:20 AM
God damn this is great
8/3/2018 7:48:06 AM
Per 247 rankings(not composite), we have the top 4 DL in the state for 2019. I think I'm more impressed by their offer lists than their star rankings honestly. Jackson - Bama, Auburn, Clemson, tOSU, USCHarris - Bama, Clemson, UGA, tOSU, ND Clark - Bama, Auburn, UGA, PSU, USCDawkins - tOSU, ND, UT, UF, VT
8/3/2018 9:41:23 AM
For forever UNC has had the assumption that it would out recruit NC State. For the obvious reasons. But we've had the better fan support and game day atmosphere. If this continues, we have everything we need to put UNC in our Football shadow. Think about how long it's been to have a football coach get a second full contract. Get the right people, maintain the right culture.[Edited on August 3, 2018 at 10:34 AM. Reason : Ff]

Awesome, didn’t know another target was announcing. We really have it rolling now.
