^, ^^Carolina fans make up the largest contingent of assholes on the planet. Douchebaggery is as defining a trait for them as promiscuity for a prostitute. The social media wasteland doubles as a microcosm of their real-world behavior and as a sponge, absorbing their witless, inane circle-jerking and oozing it out to the rest of the world. Like seriously: you can't go two feet on the internet without observing UNC fans furiously sucking themselves and each other off, assaulting the mind, body, and spirit of the rest of the human race with their feeble "command" of the English language. They're an entire colony of grab-ass retards patting themselves on the back and taking potshots from the highest of high horses. "Oh derp 19 out of 20 nuff sed!!!" - HEELZFAN4LYFE "State fans ned to quit whinning about calls and go back to tracktor racin HA" - BABYBLEW_ALLDAWAYGo shotgun a bottle of bleach, you unemployable fucksticks.

$50,000 fine is a joke too. The athletes were paid much more than this...
3/12/2012 4:06:30 PM
Wow this might be the WORST conference call I have EVER heard in my life.
3/12/2012 4:40:13 PM
Ahhh carolina fans just trying to claim how many worse violations State has committed and how classy their program and school is.

i think it's horseshit that unc still gets bowl money this year.

From what I've been told, the 15 scholarships over 5 years won't be shit. According to my friend, those 5 scholarships/year can be pulled from anywhere. So they can recruit their full 25 person class and drop 5 older/existing players who aren't doing shit, as long as their roster <=80.[Edited on March 12, 2012 at 4:57 PM. Reason : .]
3/12/2012 4:57:29 PM
It still hurts their depth. And we, of all fanbases, ought to appreciate the value of depth.
3/12/2012 5:04:06 PM
3/12/2012 5:10:30 PM
Does the loss of scholarships have to be 5 each year? Let's say they are 6 under the limit next year. Does that leave 9 for the last 2?
3/12/2012 5:11:03 PM
^^uh, drop new scholarships by 5/year, dumbass. that is reasonable and very doable.^^^sure, but not by much if they have 5 players on scholarship that turned out to be scrubs.
3/12/2012 5:17:47 PM
15 scholly is a huge hit. Who the fuck cares about post-season bans? That doesn't mean shit, the scholarship reduction is the real killer, ask Alabama in the 90s. Of course they will appeal and get that reduced, but even if its 12 scholarships and probation, that's a helluva punishment IMOin response to the scholarship reduction, it is from their recruiting class, not from players currently on the team, i.e. they should be only able to sign 20 per year, rather than 25. And that is a huge fucking hit.[Edited on March 12, 2012 at 5:20 PM. Reason : asdf]
3/12/2012 5:18:49 PM
slap on the wrist
3/12/2012 5:21:32 PM
^^ok, is that how it works. there was a discussion at work and a few thought it was from anywhere on the team.
3/12/2012 5:22:58 PM
3/12/2012 5:24:19 PM
Water boy plays linebacker, towel boy plays wide receiver.
3/12/2012 5:26:55 PM
15 scholarships over five years means instead of 25/year and 85 total, they are subject to 20/year and 80 total for three years. They can't sign 25 and cut 5 cruddy seniors.
3/12/2012 5:33:14 PM
I think they should put limits on recruiting trips, OVs, etc as well as a scholarship ban anytime a team gets in trouble recruiting. Not only will that hurt the number of players signed, but also the quality.
3/12/2012 5:33:45 PM
Any bets on swofford (may he die and rot in hell) asking for more penalties like he did when clemson got in trouble?
3/12/2012 6:46:15 PM
unc already said they won't appeal
3/12/2012 6:51:05 PM
^^Either us or the Clemson AD need to do that!

If it were State they'd find a way to charge everyone at the school with some sort of felony with prison time
3/12/2012 9:09:48 PM
Bowl ban should have been longer.Sorry Shreveport/Charlotte, unc won't be available to come finish runner up this year
3/12/2012 9:23:01 PM
3/13/2012 3:00:32 PM
I thought it was slightly weak as well. While I had hoped for the death penalty, I knew that it would probably be a slap on the wrist. The one year bowl ban was good, but I was hoping for a 2-3 year bowl ban. Might have been a bit optimistic though.
3/13/2012 4:42:08 PM
Boss today was talking about how harsh it was. And if "Jimmy V had done what he did today, he wouldn't have been allowed to be Athletic Director".I had to correct him on a few finer points, and he still bought my lunch. Score.

http://www.newsobserver.com/2012/03/13/1932081/former-unc-ch-tutor-had-horrible.htmlDamn. That tutor must be pretty well connected if Joe Cheshire is representing her free of charge. Also, my former law professor (Broome) is quoted. She's a kick-ass professor, and represents UNC on quite a few NCAA boards.
3/14/2012 10:32:24 PM
^^ well. He wasnt allowed to be an AD, after.
3/14/2012 10:35:02 PM
Exactly.

"free of charge"wonder who really wrote the check
3/14/2012 11:08:13 PM
How can you feel bad for the tutor?Boo hoo, people on internet message boards are talking shit about you. Maybe if you got some balls and at a minimum made a statement to the media during all the allegations then people wouldn't assume you were 110% guilty. I don't feel bad for her one bit.

I like how her lawyer tries to make it seem like she was the victim and didn't do anything that bad...but there was not any explanation from the lawyer for this part:
3/15/2012 4:52:30 PM
I'm hopin this shit is gonna end up like the McAdoo case and we get MORE information released which causes the NCAA to have to take another look. really, as undergrad/new teacher, she paid 2000 to pay off a player's tickets? where the fuck did she get that money, cause she sure as fuck shouldn't have that kind of disposable income as an undergrad, much less as a new teacher
