So fucking tired of hearing the "bad fan" argument....that is really played out.On the discussion before rally derailed the thread again, you guys argue that Lowe's recruiting is the main reason to keep him and then counter-act that with give him more time in year 5. So you can see how that is very frustrating to those on the other side.
12/31/2010 2:31:40 PM
I think we all agree the freshman class this year has a lot of promise. Whats so frustrating about letting them play more than a dozen games before we judge the season?
12/31/2010 2:33:56 PM
That's fine and dandy but you guys act like we're putting all the focus on just this year when it's already been 4 and a half years and we have yet to see any improvement since year one....how long can you keep waiting for something that "might" happen?
12/31/2010 2:35:35 PM
I'll happily wait for this freshman class to play one entire season. Why won't you?
12/31/2010 2:38:00 PM
You guys have said wait till this wait till that for the last two seasons....this is it. He wins this year or he needs to go. No ifs, ands, or buts. Tracy is gone after this year anyway. Teams lose players all the time. If we go 6-10 again, isn't that enough for you?
12/31/2010 2:47:47 PM
IF IF IF How is this so hard for you? You are just making up hypothetical situations in your deranged little mind and then getting pissed off because everyone isn't buying into your insanity. Many of us see that we are missing keystone of our team right now so any evaluations of this teams performance are pointless. Just wait and see how the season unfolds after we have the information then it is time for evaluation. Attacking someone for a 6-10 season that hasn't happened is insane.
12/31/2010 3:02:14 PM
Tracy will be gone next season? That's really your reason for not accepting we aren't good?Which season are we even discussing anymore? This season or next season? Let's try to keep the discussion logical boozie.we aren't good this year without our best player so that proves that next year we won't be good?Does that seem a little absurd even in your twisted head?
12/31/2010 3:31:31 PM
tracy redshirt a possibility
12/31/2010 3:44:11 PM
Wow if that happwns ill be right again and you guys will really feel dumb.Plus it buys lowe a season and we will be sick next year, top 25 easily
12/31/2010 3:50:55 PM
lol "happwns"intentional or not, i like that
12/31/2010 3:52:35 PM
I really hope we are playing quality ball by the end of the season, but some things like rebounding and defense are really troubling. Those should be there areas where freshmen progress the fastest

If Tracy redshirted I wonder how that would affect Leslies decision to return next year or go pro.I could see it making him more likely to return because we'd be better on one hand, but on the other I could see him being worried about playing time, position, etc.Either way I think he'll leave after this season for sure if he's guaranteed a spot in the lottery, but maybe hanging around one more year if the lockout looks certain (it does for at least a partial season loss) and he's slipping from the lottery.Harrow will likely be better than Javi next year so if Leslie returned we'd essentially lose nothing (except a backup PG as Harrow moves to starter), gain Tracy, and all of our players would be a year older and more experienced. That's a top 25 team.Hell, even if Leslie left it'd be a certain tournament team.

Well to be fair there are a lot of liberal pieces of trash on this message board.Which makes it weird that you're all so uncomfortable having a black basketball coach.
12/31/2010 9:58:51 PM
there goes rallydurham whining again
12/31/2010 10:16:40 PM
Hey haters how do Lowes nuts taste in your mouth on this lovely New Years Day?
1/1/2011 12:52:36 PM
i dont lean either way on this issue, but few coaches w/ NCSU's team would have any trouble against San Diego
1/1/2011 12:54:31 PM
we're only up by 18. pretty shitty first half effort imo.[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 12:56 PM. Reason : k]

Although we looked damn good while Tracy was in the lineup.^woulda been more except for tracy being dragged to the ground creating a turnover, and Leslie being called for "pushing off" when he was just flat out fouled. [Edited on January 1, 2011 at 12:57 PM. Reason : ]

No offense, but bragging from a big Lowe supporter about handling a 3-10 team is about the same as a Lowe detractor talking shit about losing a close game to a top 10 team.We definitely look good and it makes me happy...but it's not like this game proves anything.I am, however, extremely excited to see Tracy playing so well. I think we can make it to the tourney with him playing at least 75-80% of full strength. I'm personally tired of watching the tournament without us being involved. I don't want to wait another year and I'm doubtful of us making it next year without him.[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 1:01 PM. Reason : .]
1/1/2011 12:57:46 PM
one thing it proves is we're a better team with Smith, not that anybody ever doubted thatbut maybe it will remind us that we're a better team than we've seen the last 10 games[Edited on January 1, 2011 at 1:02 PM. Reason : .]
1/1/2011 1:00:20 PM
Jesus christ how can you say it doesnt mean anything? We look leaps and bounds better. That's important you know. How can people whine about how "bad" we look in games we've won by 10+ points this year but we're not allowed to use games where we look great and win by 20+?Illogical.
1/1/2011 1:07:33 PM
^I'm just saying that 75% of the teams in the country could look "great" against San Diego. They are pretty bad.
1/1/2011 1:19:36 PM
Let's put this in perspective.#19 San Diego State beat them by 28#15 Baylor beat them by 33#149 Utah lost to them by 3 on a neutral court. If we win this game by 30, it isn't meaningless. It means we're a much better team than the all the NC State haters on this board give us credit for.
1/1/2011 1:23:48 PM
I can't believe I'm about to say thisBut you put way too much stock in Pomeroy ratings
1/1/2011 1:36:04 PM
1/1/2011 1:37:49 PM
yeah they suck dick no one is arguing that, but we are destroying them. Our offense looks great and we aren't even hitting our threes. They beat the #151 team in the country, that does help my argument. It means they beat a team thats better than Wake Forest.

the #1 thing I took away from this game is that the ridiculous idea that Tracy would redshirt this season is put to bed
1/1/2011 2:19:21 PM
What a weird phenomenon that if you replace the bulk of Vandy and Painters minutes with Tracy Smith at 80% we become a better team.No one probably saw it coming but I have a suggestion for Lowe.I think we should keep playing Tracy Smith for now and see how it goes...
1/1/2011 2:45:57 PM
In two weeks he'll be claiming it was his idea to start Tracy Smith over Painter and harping on what a genius he is and how much better we're playing now that Sidney Lowe took his advice
1/1/2011 3:24:40 PM
No the Sidney detractors will be screaming about how they don't understand why Tracy wasn't playing. Must be Sidney's "terrible substitution patterns" (and before you say it is ridiculous remember they were saying the same thing last year after Howell came back from injury...)

9 wins in this year's ACC = NIT. You forgot to say FACT.
1/2/2011 12:10:23 PM
Not all 9 wins will be the same. I mean we could make it if we beat the right teams, but you are in trouble if you start your conference schedule with a RPI of over 100 and your conference isn't the Big East. Our RPI should drop a bit more regardless of what happens with Elon since they are also in the 200s.It's an uphill climb for sure. Hopefully, Tracy being out is accounted for but for the losses against Georgetown and Wisconsin I doubt it will be. One thing we have going for us is that Syracuse has been better than expected and so, too has Wisconsin (especially). If Wiscy was as projected, we'd be pretty much out of it at this point...
1/2/2011 12:20:47 PM
LOL, you guys are out of control now. collegerpi.com has us at #63 right now.If we go 9-7 in the ACC this year we are in great shape to make the tournament, don't be ridiculous. Our RPI will be around 40th if we go 9-7.RPI is still a joke after 10-15 games, kenpom is not because it accounts for way more factors. Not all ACC schedules are created the same fellas. We have Duke, UNC, and FSU twice who are all good teams. We've played 4 teams that are in the top 15 in the nation already. We look solid, we're going to probably go ~8-8 if Tracy can stay healthy and be his normal productive self. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. We're in much better shape than we were a few years ago. We have young productive talent, a few recruits on the way, and it's fair to say we can expect Sidney's recruiting to accelerate as we start compiling wins.
1/2/2011 12:26:33 PM
CollegeRPI also says we're 7-4..** And I really don't get your infatuation with FSU -- to my knowledge the committee doesn't even use Pomeroy and he is the only one who values them...[Edited on January 2, 2011 at 12:29 PM. Reason : x]
1/2/2011 12:28:01 PM
We were at 63rd last Monday before we beat powerhouse Alabama A&M (308) and San Diego (319). 2 300+ wins will drop you a good bit.[Edited on January 2, 2011 at 12:31 PM. Reason : ^FSU is at 79 right now.]
