Welp. Salah and Bobby out Tuesday.

^^LOLI guess Arsenal still have a shot at Champions League play but they have to win the EL now. I rag on Spurs a lot, but considering they haven't signed any new players in the past 2 windows and dealt with injuries and absences of key players to finish Top 4 and still have a decent shot of a Champions League final is quite impressive.[Edited on May 6, 2019 at 8:31 AM. The fact that you are legitimately discussing luck as a factor in a teams league finish says all I need to know about the absurdity of the United fans on here.
5/6/2019 8:43:21 AM
What does this have to do with united at all? Spurs should be much better off than this and their form is atrocious just like the other teams from 4-6. I like how United finishing 2nd last season was lucky because everyone around us was shit but that same argument doesn't apply to Spurs. Just goes to show the state of pool fans on this sub.
5/6/2019 10:25:11 AM
I always say better to be lucky than not. Considering the up and down season Chelsea had I will take Champions League play, but it will be a struggle next season without Eden Hazard.

Foxes. Foxes. Foxes.
5/6/2019 1:01:11 PM
Sorry if this has already been discussed. No matter who wins the league, a new record will be set for most points scored without winning the title (current record is 89). Also, pool may end up not winning title while having only 1 loss. That's crazy.

Relax mate. You likely won't win the trophy but you know you won the moral high ground and won the hearts and minds of people and made some great football friends along the way. I'd say you deserve to have a plaque in your trophy cabinet for best losers ever if city win next week.[Edited on May 6, 2019 at 9:45 PM. Reason : H]

^bitter and obsessed this one. What can I say, hated adored but never ignored.
5/6/2019 10:00:50 PM
So obsessed that you have to use a united chant. Extremely bitter that you haven't won anything in your best spell in decades and are on course to beat Uniteds record of most points ever to not win the title. At least we lost on goal difference.
5/6/2019 10:49:06 PM
This numbnuts just bragged about having a worse season[Edited on May 7, 2019 at 12:22 AM. Reason : We're gonna be ignoring the hell out of united during CL lmao]
5/7/2019 12:18:21 AM
gotta say, idiots like wazza aside, it's pretty lame to see the rest of the league cheer City cheat coding their way to winning titles. PL is basically gonna be Bundesliga until City owners decide they don't wanna do it anymore. And at least Bayern have real fans. How is that good for anyone? Just because you don't like a few Liverpool fans on social media or whatever? And no wazza I don't want to hear the history of English football because no fan under 40 cares about the 80s.[Edited on May 7, 2019 at 2:19 AM. Reason : I guess it's just for the banter. Pretty lame]
5/7/2019 2:18:44 AM
By your logic Tottenham deserves to win the league because they are the only ones not "cheat coding." Post just screams of a moral victory.
5/7/2019 8:53:54 AM
5/7/2019 9:10:12 AM
Yeah anyone else that isn't a Liverpool fan want to be reasonable and engage that topic?Just curious why you want City to steamroll the league instead of someone else winning. Are we really that bad on the internet?
5/7/2019 12:44:11 PM
As much as you don't want to hear it, and I also doubt most on here have experienced it, no one likes pool fans just like no one likes United' fans. This is based on history and the 70s and 80s. Pool and United are both historically the biggest teams in England and people are always going to hate those two teams regardless of how much you take the moral high ground. Under SAF United played excellent football and it was notably pool fans who continued to drum on and on about refs and luck. It isn't different just because you are playing excellent footy now, the player wearing the hat is the only change. Pool fans growing up were just as cocky as the United fans you love to hate. Also no one cares about City, simply because they are using a cheat code. Its not about City winning, its about Liverpool not winning. It would be the exact same if United was challenging and to perhaps a lesser extent if it was Arsenal or Chelsea challenging. If city win one more then they will retained the title for the first time, just goes to show they aren't historically up there with Pool, Arsenal and United yet and their fans/team won't generate that hate just yet. If City dominates an entire decade that will change. Liverpool isn't Leicester where most of the league were happy to get behind them. You aren't a poor team or an underdog despite your recent history. You are still Liverpool football club and that history/name will always inspire hatred. There really isn't any other reason. Go live in England and you will feel it everyday. But hey I am an idiot so you will just ignore this anyway. [Edited on May 7, 2019 at 1:14 PM. Reason : .]

I think with Spurs twitter/reddit it's more about how Liverpool twitter/reddit acted after the 2-2 at Anfield and Kane saying he flicked on Eriksen's shot. The Liverpool players were even taking shots on twitter. So not much love for the reds as a neutral fanbase just watching it unfold like everyone else after that.Me personally I could care less if it isn't Spurs. I think this thread would get spicier if Liverpool won so that would be cool.
5/7/2019 1:54:57 PM
I can't say I want City to win, but at the same time I like the streak of no league titles for Pool in the PL Era. Wazza is right Pool and United have the most history in England its like the Cowboys and Steelers as far as history, though the Patriots may have supplanted the Steelers to most of the country. If City keep winning at this clip for the next few years I am sure it will change.
5/7/2019 2:26:30 PM
I could be wrong but I think y'all are answering a different question than what aimorris asked. Y'all are answering "don't you wish Liverpool won instead" vs how do you feel that city is out here setting records with no signs of slowing down?Like Liverpool had to have a nearly perfect season to even get close, what does that say about the chances of every other team in the league?
5/7/2019 2:43:12 PM
Yea the premier league doesn't work that way. If anything it has become more competitive since SAF has retired as United is no longer a guaranteed top 2 finisher. Its an aberration and not a new trend. Football is fickle and fans are looking at the last two seasons thinking this is a new marker which is a ridiculous assertion. I don't believe this kind of consistency is possible in the PL. Two years alone is impressive and this city squad is going to need fresh ideas next season. If they go on to score 98 points again next season then fair play, teams will have to adapt or City will continue to win but no one has displayed that kind of consistency in the PL ever. The closest has been pool and united and both times other teams came up to meet the challenge. I don't doubt that City will be a title challenger for the foreseeable future but if the assertion is that title winners now need to get over 95 points is just not true based on the back of two seasons. United are the only team that have retained the PL three years in a row (twice). I am sure Pool retained it more than 2 years in a row in the old League one as well. Pep won't be at City for more than 2 or 3 more years if even that. Teams have ebbs and flows. I don't expect pool to fall off the title challenge given your squad. We'll see what Chelsea do but I am not concerned about a dynasty from Man City simply because they won't have that consistency in management.
5/7/2019 3:12:06 PM

5/7/2019 5:04:19 PM
^ I mean let’s be honest, if they go on and win in Madrid this comeback and Istanbul is way better and more important than any Arsenal (or whoever) PL titles. And I bet if you asked Liverpool if they’d rather have two CLs in the dramatic fashion they would have won them in or a Prem title it’s an easy answer.[Edited on May 7, 2019 at 5:07 PM. Reason : Used arsenal for obvious reasons]
5/7/2019 5:07:01 PM
PL is harder and more rewarding to win something over the course of a season. I guess my opinion would be a lot different if Liverpool had won the league recently too.Obviously I'll take either. My problem with CL is I really don't care until the knockouts so a lot feels like wasted time/games.
5/7/2019 5:21:28 PM
Win the PL title = Yea its more important anywayWin the CL = Yea its more important anywayIts up to who wins them.
