I mean...they definitely don’t still use RPI. ^^yeah that’s basically it. Remove any 1 of those things from the “against” column and we’re probably in. We just gave them too many reasons to leave us out.

Wake was a bonce away from beating Duke (without Zion).

Gents, I'm going to the game at Reynolds tonight. Havent been on campus in many, many years. Nor have I been to a game at Reynolds since I was in school. Where do I park?? I'll have my 4yo kid in tow
3/19/2019 1:01:11 PM
In the parking deck next to Reynolds.
3/19/2019 1:38:05 PM
Word. I didnt know if you needed a pass or something for that. thx.

@rwoody SEC tournament final was Sunday. I’m saying they probably decided who was in the field before Auburn upset Tenn. others have said the same regarding those Sunday games getting fair, if any, consideration. Regarding Wake I’m saying a trap game loss on the road to a rival without your best player doesn’t look that bad if it’s a single incident but in the context of our overall resume it just adds to the negative.

After 5 you could probably park north campus and go through the reynolds tunnel for free. They open up the gatehouse off pullen after hours and I don't know that they're checking spaces. Would be easier getting out at the end too. At least that's how it used to be.

I work on campus. You can park in any B or C lot after 5pm and the gate off Pullen, Yarborough, Dan Allen, etc. all open at 5. There's the decks on Cates and Dan Allen. The C lot right beside Reynolds fills up fast, as do spots on Cates. Traffic can be a mess leaving as well. Your best bet is probably to take Hillsborough to Yarborough and park over there - it'll be easier to get out after the game than if you park off Stinson, Cates, etc. You can get pretty close to the tunnel going under the tracks that pops out right by Reynolds, but might be tough if you have a stroller or something. You could also park a bit further down Yarborough near the botany greenhouses and take the Free Expression Tunnel to the other side - it has handicap access and will have less people walking through before/after the game. Personally, I'll be parked in North Dorm B lot. Don't park in any RE (dorm) or SV (state vehicle) spaces.
3/19/2019 3:30:00 PM
Also don't park in handicap spaces without the proper permit.
3/19/2019 4:08:32 PM
Thanks for the info. I chanced it and was able to get a spot on the top level of the parking deck beside Reynolds, lol. No charge. But it did fill up quickly.

Just wanted to get rwoody's input on thishttps://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/north-carolina-asheville/Asheville had won 15+ games for the last 11 consecutive seasons coming into this year. Yet Keatts somehow knew that they'd have their 2nd worst season in school history and that's why he scheduled them?]
3/19/2019 10:20:56 PM
He didn't knwo they would be terrible terrible but he knew they would be bad with a chance to be terrible[Edited on March 19, 2019 at 10:41 PM. Reason : You know what you're doing when you schedule a team with a new coach and new roster ]Of top 6 in minutes last year, none are on roster this year. Of top 6 in minutes this year, 2 were on roster last year, they averaged 12 mpg (in only 19) and the other was, I think, hurt most of the season. [Edited on March 19, 2019 at 10:44 PM. Reason : E]
3/19/2019 10:30:40 PM
Still, they had a historically bad season that no one could have seen coming.
3/19/2019 10:49:21 PM
I parked in Dan Allen to avoid the traffic after the game (and get that free space). Tickets purchased for Sunday!
3/19/2019 11:01:58 PM
^^true. I'm curious what our SOS would have been had unca been, say, 300 or 250 instead of 350
3/19/2019 11:09:49 PM
You know if all the "Move us back to Reynolds" people actually attended games at PNC, we would have a better homecourt advantage. Wish people would quit bringing it up.
3/19/2019 11:21:41 PM
That is very true. But people like to complain and also would rather sit at home than watch from the upper deck.
3/19/2019 11:37:03 PM
I'm not backing the move to Reynolds argument, but it's a completely different experience. Fans are on top of the court, and it's a hostile crowd. Fans are more engaged in Reynolds, regardless of how full the PNC is. The economics make even less sense now that it seats 5600 instead of 12k+, but as a fan, I would appreciate one bullshit conference game there instead of one bullshit out of conference game. Make it an add-on to the season ticket package or something.[Edited on March 19, 2019 at 11:45 PM. Reason : But there's no economic reason to since the bullshit OOC game already sells out and is a relatively hot ticket]]
3/19/2019 11:41:39 PM
Anyone who wants to go back there can kick rocks. It took me an hour to get through campus to get there. Maybe a 9pm game, but alas we would lose a lot of money!
3/20/2019 2:41:12 AM
about to buy tickets and there’s no assigned seating.. is that right? is reynolds the goddamn wild wild west?
3/20/2019 8:30:00 AM
very much has assigned seats
3/20/2019 8:31:32 AM
Bought tickets for Sunday night's game...looking forward to checking out campus & Reynolds! Haven't scoped out campus in several years. NWS has a forecasted high of 66F for Sunday!
3/20/2019 8:51:24 AM
I need 7 tickets but it has a max of 4 per purchase. I guess my best option is to try and have 2 orders close together.
3/20/2019 9:01:36 AM
3/20/2019 10:50:45 AM
I'm guessing we'll have seat assignments tomorrow...hopefully those who bought early will be rewarded.?
3/20/2019 11:17:05 AM
^Yeah I got an email saying priority deadline was today at noon so I'm assuming folks who bought before noon will have priority over those who buy after. I ended up buying 4 and my mom bought 3 right after and referenced my order number and name in her seat preference comment. So we'll see.
3/20/2019 12:09:39 PM
Another sellout!
3/20/2019 3:26:25 PM
3/20/2019 4:01:56 PM
I still don’t get this tourney Last year we were 11-7, include acc tourney 11-8, 21-12, 16-3 at home, 4-5 away. This year 9-9, include Acc tourney 10-10, 9-9, 23-11 ( will end up with 12 like last year maybe, 16-4 at home, 4-6 away. So makes no sense
3/21/2019 12:08:42 AM
I feel like you're neglecting out of conference strength of schedule this season, for one.For two you're also ignoring the marquee wins we had last season that we're sorely lacking this season. For three you don't see how 11-8 isn't > 10-10?We had a strong resume for sure, but it's our fault we didn't make it.
3/21/2019 12:16:31 AM
Yes, St John's and Arizona State and Iowa and Ohio State were all clearly superior teams this year.
3/21/2019 3:32:56 AM
conference record really doesn't mean anything, especially when compared over different years (unbalanced schedules, conference strength varies, etc). it's completely fair to say we should have made the tourney. but it's pretty clear the committee valued high profile wins...of which we had 0. the fact that we had 2 ugly losses didn't help our case. and our NCSOS was a knock against us too. basically, we had more going against us than going for us. if any one of those negatives were "fixed" it's probably enough to get us in. but we really just gave the committee too many reasons to leave us out.
3/21/2019 6:32:21 AM
The mega conferences, 20 game schedules, etc is going to run college basketball and I can't believe it's not a bigger story
3/21/2019 10:08:52 AM
plus, with 20 conference games...are we still gonna put excessive weight on NCSOS? 2/3 of the schedule is conference games, why does the remaining 1/3 get so much weight?
3/21/2019 11:02:27 AM
I think if the GT loss had come early on it wouldn't hurt as bad as it did.
3/21/2019 1:36:15 PM
checking my email over and over like
3/21/2019 2:58:58 PM
We are barely squeeking by low major teams. Move all games to Reynolds!
3/24/2019 11:06:48 PM
Hofstra....Harvard...Lipscomb...the gauntlet continuesSpeaking of the NCAA tournament though...what a snoozefest so far. I think there was one 2nd round game decided by less than double digits[Edited on March 25, 2019 at 7:17 AM. Reason : Dhdh]
3/25/2019 7:16:53 AM
3/25/2019 8:30:42 AM
^^obviously it’s not gauntlet. But Hofstra ranked 92 in KenPom, ahead of Norte Dame. Lipscomb ranks 44 in KenPom (we’re 38). Harvard is 112, ahead of GT. Yeah it’s the NIT. Its not the best competition. But these teams are definitely better than the majority of our OOC schedule.
3/25/2019 9:00:12 AM
Oh no doubt. Winning two games over Hofstra and Harvard moved us up from 95 to 74 in RPI and down from 38 to 33 in KenPom. Still a joke we didn't get in. 22-11 and 7 losses to S16 teams and beat one.
3/25/2019 6:41:29 PM
There’s almost always a bubbly team that goes on a run to the S16. Not this year. I don’t think that means you can say the committee got it wrong because of that. But it is further proof of just how bad some of those teams were (St John, ASU, etc).
3/25/2019 7:42:10 PM
The committee didn't get it right or wrong, this is just an extremely top-heavy season. You had 7 or 8 teams contending for a 1 seed and a ton of teams just hanging around the bubble. There is a VERY strong chance that the Elite 8 will be all 1 and 2 seeds.
3/26/2019 9:30:22 AM
^yeah that’s what i meant.
3/26/2019 10:43:58 AM
On the bright side, we were in the top 8 of teams that didn't matter.
3/28/2019 7:00:17 PM
unpopular opinion - i enjoyed the NIT games at Reynolds a lot more than an early loss in the tournament
