naw those dudes aren't sweeping thru. I refuse to believe it
5/2/2013 1:04:53 AM
No fucking way they sweep. Milwaukee is terrible. Good frontcourt but one of the worst backcourts in the league. Maybe the worst actually. Heat will be in a dogfight with Indiana or new york. And sas or okc. Chi or Brooklyn will be 4-1 though most likely
5/2/2013 1:27:44 AM
Lol at lillard for rookie of the year. Nba writers are brain dead
5/2/2013 11:00:35 AM
I cant think of any other rookie who should have won itand why dont they announce all the season awards at the same time? these awards are usually locked up shortly after the all star break.
5/2/2013 11:04:54 AM
"That motherfucker fucked your wife"
5/2/2013 11:05:05 AM
Call me old fashioned but when a guy submits arguably the best rookie season ever I think you should give him the award regardless of whether he missed the last 20 games of tge season injured. Lillard s team lost their last 13 games and like 20 of the last 21 so he may as well have missed those games an y way
5/2/2013 12:28:52 PM
5/2/2013 12:45:06 PM
Anthony Davisdon't support his thesis, but that's who he's talking about
5/2/2013 12:47:41 PM
Who is face talking about?
5/2/2013 12:50:14 PM
pretty sure he's talking about Andre Drummondwho, a year ago, he said was a guaranteed bust
5/2/2013 1:04:08 PM
Yeah Drummond was unreal. Davis would have been a better choice than lillard too though
5/2/2013 1:11:04 PM
Rookie years:Anthony Davis averaged 13.5 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 1.8 BPG in 28.8 MPG.Shaq - 23.4 PPG , 13.9 RPG, 3.5 BPG in 37.9 MPG.David Robinson - 24.3 PPG, 12.0 RPG, 3.9 BPG in 36.6 MPG.Hakeem - 20.6 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 2.7 BPG in 35.5 MPG.Ewing - 20.0 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 2.1 BPG in 35.4 MPG.If we assume Davis's production will stay at the same rate with increased minutes (not likely), his new numbers:16.9 PPG, 10.3 RPG, and 2.25 BPG.Those numbers don't compare favorably to any of the 4 players I listed above, but its still really impressive that he is doing this while being only 20 years old.EDIT:Drummond's numbers - 7.9 PPG, 7.6 RPG, and 1.6 BPG.Drummond's numbers per 36 minutes - 13.7 PPG, 13.2 RPG, and 2.8 BPG.The only clear difference between Drummond and everyone else listed above (that i see) is his FG%. His is above 60% while all the others range between 51% - 56%.[Edited on May 2, 2013 at 1:16 PM. Reason : added drummond's numbers]
5/2/2013 1:11:48 PM
Yeah hes simply unreal and the guy sucked in college. Bizaare
5/2/2013 1:21:54 PM
^ You cannot give an award to a guy simply based on efficiency. He has to actually put up some total stats which Lillard did. The fact that he was a unanimous choice means that even the NBA writers that are into efficiency stats recognized he deserved the award over Drummond or eyebrow boy.
5/2/2013 2:00:29 PM
motherfucker said Andre Drummond shouldve won rookie of the year over Damien Lillard? bwahahaha, keep on trolling man, its obviously what you do best
5/2/2013 2:18:43 PM
Youre right why give it to the dominant big man when youve got the next damon stoudamire on your hands
5/2/2013 4:24:52 PM
because the ROY award is all about career projections and has absolutely nothing to do with that season
5/2/2013 5:01:09 PM
Just not right to give it to a guy who shoots a lot over a guy who dominates
5/2/2013 5:26:05 PM
lillard had 1500 pts and 500 assists. oscar's numbersthat was in the bag midseason.
5/2/2013 5:31:05 PM
this thunder team now with just basically Durant doing all the work looks like Lebron and the Cavs. Maybe Durant can have a game like Lebron Vs The City of Detroit in the playoff years ago.say what you may about Westbrook but that dude racks up points in a hurry.
5/2/2013 5:39:23 PM
the Thunder look lost without their mediocre point guard
5/2/2013 6:08:24 PM
keep calm and feed the troll
5/2/2013 6:54:06 PM
Uh no. Sefolosha and ibaka are light years better than the supporting cast lebron had in Cleveland
5/2/2013 7:12:30 PM
Troll fed
5/2/2013 7:17:13 PM
David Lee playingthis is not normal.
5/2/2013 11:15:46 PM
Faried with 3 fouls in like 90 seconds
5/3/2013 12:07:27 AM
Steph curry's touch should be printed on money. it rivals ray allen
5/3/2013 12:10:55 AM
it still makes me think most college basketball coaches are dumb as shit when nobody in a major conference offered him a scholly
5/3/2013 12:13:51 AM
I assume he just wanted to stay close to home and davidson isnt a punk ass school academically
5/3/2013 12:17:50 AM
Holy ..Golden state is falling apart,[Edited on May 3, 2013 at 1:11 AM. Reason : I love the NBA]
5/3/2013 1:10:50 AM
yepCurry is about to drain a dagger though
5/3/2013 1:11:47 AM
this game is ending crazier than a crazy college game.
5/3/2013 1:17:46 AM
Ws!
5/3/2013 1:19:44 AM
GS wont make it any further. they cant handle that close out pressure
5/3/2013 1:20:46 AM
face just won 445 bucks by wagering more on his golden state bet than he wagered on his denver betif you hedge, you're always right
5/3/2013 1:21:24 AM
^^ you're probably rightI live in Oakland and sadly I've never made it to a Warriors game, but it's cool to see them actually make, let alone win a playoff seriesDenver is like the San Jose Sharks- perennial choke squad that doesn't do shit in the playoffs...
5/3/2013 1:24:00 AM
Denver has too many guys that do just one thing. besides andre iguodala who is a poor man's lebron but he cant take over a game. thought GS was moving to San Fransisco next year?the warrior/spurs will be a good series or a easy blowout. the spurs can close games
5/3/2013 1:28:43 AM
not anytime soonwithin 5 years maybe, but they haven't even broken ground on the Arena yet or really financed it
5/3/2013 1:30:21 AM
Denver was never a contender despite what face said. They don't have a star and are a great regular season team that inflate their record with depth, fast playing style and the altitude gimmick which all go well together... in the regular season.[Edited on May 3, 2013 at 1:41 AM. Reason : david lee or derrick rose?]
5/3/2013 1:41:15 AM
I cant wrap my mind around this bulls/net series. I dont know who's going to win that. i said at the beginning bulls but I dont know anymore. bulls are horrid at offense unless nate goes super saiyan
5/3/2013 1:42:34 AM
Denver has a great roster they just have the worst coach in nba history. 20 straight seasons of destroying his team in the playoffs
5/3/2013 1:48:25 AM
ah so the singular cause of their continued ineptitude is coaching. boy does that sound familiar...
5/3/2013 1:57:59 AM
George Karl really is an awful coach. Denver's roster is stacked with high efficiency players and they should have never gone out this early. I agree with face on this one. Steph Curry played like an elite superstar though and sometimes that is all it takes in a playoff series.
5/3/2013 7:52:16 AM
Denver has several great big men but karl benched all of them and tried to play small ball vs a team with better small players. He kills them every year. The warriors are terrible the spurs will probably sweep them
5/3/2013 8:38:30 AM
5/3/2013 10:46:22 AM
I swear its Groundhog Day when I read this thread after reading @nerdnumbers on twitter.
5/3/2013 10:50:08 AM
The denver bigs are not skilled at all. However good denver was diminished severely with the injuries. In the regular season you are playing the entire nba on random rest but in the playoffs you are playing the same team over and over on equal rest. The teams with depth are going to be able to give 100% effort in the regular season without getting tired. Playing a fast pace means denver is going to run a tired team out of the gym every night. This alone was worth 10 wins from the 10 times they faced a team who had a game the previous night. Playing a fast pace in a high altitude city with depth was probably worth 10 home wins. Playing against teams that just arne't equipped to play a fast game had to be worth 5 extra wins. When you put them in the playoffs against another fast deep team that has a star and they don't theres just nothing appealing about denver. If david lee was healthy it would've been over in 5.
5/3/2013 12:30:35 PM
Reggie Jackson has made Westbrook absence pretty unimportant. This kid has game... if theyd knowb they coulda cut ties with rw and kept harden and won titles
5/4/2013 12:07:20 PM
Holy nutsac I did it again
5/5/2013 10:57:17 AM
Joe Johnson 2-14 fg in game 7 lol he is completely washed up. Brooklyn did a terrible job assembling this $100 million roster. They are screwed. Carmelo cant play as terribly in round 2 as he did vs the celtics, right? If he torpedoes the knicks they need to trade him while chandler is still in his prime
5/5/2013 1:27:12 PM
