My brother played high school soccer and I had no problem keeping up with him from a talent perspective. I just need to run and get in enough shape to avoid keeling over and dying after 45 minutes

Also, try Davis Drive Park on Saturday mornings at 9:30 am. There is a group that goes out there. Some of them are really good and others totally suck. Anybody can out play Bob (red Bayern Munich jersey) and Jim.

I just looked at the team listings and it looks as though there are new Men's Open Teams.

New Teams?
Quickly United
Sheperd's House United
Pele Magics SC
RFC Ajax

I doubt Clockwork Orange, Royal Pains, Bull City, Duke Football Club, and Flying Dog would have changed their names. Quickly United used to play in Open C and at Net Sports. This could be good for my team, if we have a lot of new teams.

I just need to get out and get ready to play, so we can kick GCE's ass this season. I signed a part time player from Sasquatch who said he ran into some English guy that said he used to play for Sporting. My new player said the English guy didn't say anything good about my team. Stealing all of my players and then telling me at the captains meeting how he called all of them and tried to sign them to his team, was bad enough. There is no need to talk shit about my team 4 seasons later when his team is most of the original roster.

btw, I am getting excited. I signed a defender the other day who said he played for the LSU club team and in the USL PDL. Now I just need soc33com to come back when he gets back in the country. I can always hope he doesn't find an Open A team to play on.

I'm the captain for Quickly United in Open B. We played for the last 2 or 3 seasons as "Precision Walls FC". Should be a good season coming up... still need to add a keeper though. Which team/division are you in?

So it sounds like they are moving to the sticker system. TASL just sent out an e-mail saying all players must return their passes to the league. Registration is such a pain in the ass. Now all of my guys wil have to send their passes in. We all chose to use the "everyone keep your own pass" system.

MAKE UP YOUR FUCKING MIND AND DON'T FORGET TO PAY!

So I had a guy tell me a few weeks ago that he wanted to play Men's Open C, but then he wrote back and said he might play men's over 30 instead. Last night he told me he was going to play men's over 30, so I had Donna take him off, but then today he wrote back and said he does want to join my team. I have 2 guys that still haven't paid. One hasn't responded to e-mails, phone calls, or facebook messages. My best defender wants to come back part time, but hasn't taken the time to sign up. Charles sent a player my way who signed up for his girlfriend's coed D team, only to realize he can't play on Mondays. I contacted a guy who signed up for Men's Open player pool and then said he doesn't want to play because he wants to go to all of the NC State football games. Tonight I got an e-mail from a guy I invited 3 weeks ago who was wondering if I had any spots open on my roster. He was unsure about playing for my team when we spoke 3 weeks ago. One of my returning players said his friend wants to probably play for us, but I haven't heard from either of them for over a week. Tonight Donna sent out an e-mail saying a lot of teams are way below the required 14 paid players yet.

I hope the rest of you aren't going through the hell I am.[/rant]

And in a not so surprising turn of events, one of the guys who hadn't paid yet realized he doesn't have the funds to play, so he isn't going to sign up. Every season so far I have had someone sign up who later contacts me and says they don't want to play for my team. twwers are the only people who are ever nice enough to contact me quickly and tell me, if they want to join, return, or quit. Everyone else just likes to leave me gussing till the final hour.

^Yeah that is kind of a bitch. I would rather the first game be at night, so we have plenty of time to hand out shirts, warm up, etc.

On a brighter note, John said he doesn't want to play Men's Over 30 now and is coming back. Him + the new Eric + Chris K + David in goal could mean we will have a good defense.

Still no scores and standing posted. I hope TASL isn't going to wait till Friday after Coed Over 30 and Coed A are finished, to post the standings from the week before.

Also, The Usual Jackals scored in the first minute to take a 1-0 lead on last seasons Coed Over 30 champion, Arsenal. Then we gave up 9 unanswered goals. That team really needs to go back to Coed B.
