i concur
10/25/2011 11:43:15 AM
enjoying it
10/25/2011 12:03:22 PM
I'm a fan of the show, but I am also a big fan of bashing the stupid shit they put in the show at the same time. Its like a love-hate bonerjam, if you will.
10/25/2011 12:26:32 PM
Not that it was in doubt considering it's doing insane ratings, but AMC officially renewed The Walking Dead for a third season.
10/25/2011 2:13:52 PM
Obligatory "you should all read the comic/ graphic novels" (even though the show is a completely different animal at this point)
10/25/2011 2:22:32 PM
I like the show, Imma just watch the show. That way I don't get mad when someone doesn't do something like they did in the book.
10/25/2011 4:10:03 PM
^it sounds pretty frustrating, so i'll stay away from that
10/25/2011 4:14:30 PM
this episode is dark. can't see shit.
10/30/2011 9:40:58 PM
[Edited on October 30, 2011 at 10:00 PM. Reason : bout damn time. shane isn't a good person.]
10/30/2011 9:58:32 PM
Damn Shane is a dick
10/30/2011 9:59:24 PM
yo, wtf was that thing in the last scene of the preview for next week?
10/30/2011 10:00:58 PM
fat zombie in a well?
10/30/2011 10:55:26 PM
He seemed more likely to make it back than the fat guy. No sense in both of them dying.
10/31/2011 2:38:35 AM
Good episode... and damn Shane, that was cold. At least if you are gonna shoot the dude, shoot him in the head so he doesn't get eaten alive. I thought that maybe the zombies wouldn't eat someone who was already dead but then I remembered the guy in the woods that hung himself had his legs all eaten. I guess they are setting Shane up to be a villain.
10/31/2011 8:54:40 AM
have they explained yet how the farm house has power and hot running water? Next week looks like it may be paced a little better.
10/31/2011 9:07:43 AM
it seems like the farmhouse would at least have boarded windows
10/31/2011 10:04:52 AM
I'm getting sorta annoyed by this all out search for a damn 12 y/o that has been lost for what 3+ days? come on... you are in the middle of a zombie Apocalypse the last thing you want is a dumbass kid slowing you down
10/31/2011 10:12:23 AM
I liked last nights episode a lot more than any other of the season but it still had some really weak points. Lets talk about Carl seeing a deer and how amazing that was for five minutes but then only show one minute of Shane and Otis trying to get away from hoards of walkers. And yeah Shane should have at least shot the guy in the head, cold as ice.
10/31/2011 10:34:05 AM
^ They're still human, they do stupid human things. It wouldn't be entertaining to watch a bunch of cold hard killers go through surviving the zombie apocalypse and never making mistakes. This is before Rick's "WE are the walking dead" revelation. Things will change a little bit when (if) we ever get to that point.
10/31/2011 10:35:00 AM
^^on the talking dead (comes on after the show) they said they didn't shoot him in the head bc that kills gray matter & the zombies wouldn't be as attracted to him
10/31/2011 10:43:55 AM
^Hmmm I guess that works but it still seems kind of far fetched. I can't see Shane knowing something like that off the top of his head.
10/31/2011 10:51:46 AM
a yelling, screaming morsel that fights back is going to attract a lot more attention and occupy a lot more time than just a lump of flesh laying there
10/31/2011 11:52:28 AM
^this
10/31/2011 12:09:45 PM
as I was watching the extended preview for next week on AMC's website, this gem of a comment popped up:
10/31/2011 4:54:37 PM
yet another mostly boring episode minus the shane and otis adventure. Pretty fucked up at the end, but I approve. The one thing is that if they came in on a vehicle, why didn't one use the vehicle to distract all the zombies at the high school while the other one slips in and get the stuff... Its just stupid shit like this that just breaks the whole common sense shit. I mean even in season one, they did this with the camaro...
10/31/2011 5:07:12 PM
^Almost exactly what I said on the previous page. You sir, know your zombie survival strategies.[Edited on October 31, 2011 at 6:58 PM. Reason : ]
10/31/2011 6:58:05 PM
Yeah, for real. i suppose we could sit and pick holes in every episode though.
10/31/2011 7:14:06 PM
man Shane did Otis dirty man
10/31/2011 7:16:23 PM
^4 because shane is the faster of the two, but he didn't know what any of the stuff looked like/where to find it. otis would just get killed if he went in alone.
10/31/2011 8:17:00 PM
wait... how is shane with a broken leg faster than otis?
10/31/2011 8:21:11 PM
he was fatter than fuck
10/31/2011 8:27:45 PM
So does that house have a magically quiet infinite generator and water supply or...
10/31/2011 9:37:11 PM
p.s. there's no way in hell Otis wouldn't have rolled his ankle from his bleacher jump
10/31/2011 9:49:49 PM
^^Windmill and a well, perhaps? I mean, the well is a definite. A windmill on a farm isn't far-fetched.
10/31/2011 11:02:50 PM
I don't like Shane becoming an 'evil' person, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.I was bummed Otis died, but it was pretty much guaranteed from the minute they got in that truck
10/31/2011 11:20:55 PM
it was foreshadowed like a motherfucker
10/31/2011 11:22:26 PM
if ammo was so precious... then why the hell did otis use it for hunting in the first place? Specially since it attracts so much attention... and the exact moment carl was looking at a deer... I mean if human contact is basically slim to none out in the woods without zombies, what are the chances that a hunting accident happens in a zombified world?Story got more holes than Carl.
10/31/2011 11:32:55 PM
they did just plow through a field of zombies. i doubt otis carried every single rifle round that he owned with him.edit: i retract my defense of a questionable plot hole. this show isnt worth the debate[Edited on October 31, 2011 at 11:55 PM. Reason : .]
10/31/2011 11:55:06 PM
have these guys never heard of potato/pillow silencers
10/31/2011 11:59:30 PM
If only Otis had kept Rick's gun
11/1/2011 8:23:30 AM
watched all three episodes in one sitting. The pacing of this show is so bad and bounces around so much that it's actually hard to watch at points. I found myself wanting to fast forward through so many parts. The fact that AMC has the nerve to call this the 'scariest television series ever' is insolent. There is nothing remotely scary or horrifying about this show.i was a proponent of season one, thinking that it would set up for some great, intense moments in season 2 but so far i've been extremely let down.
11/1/2011 8:26:52 AM
The walking dead in this show strike me as the looming jaws under the boat that you only occasionally see. I can see why they do that, but to me, there needs to be more surprise zombie encounters, rather than a bunch of deep interpersonal dialogue on top of an RV. Zombies are meant to be seen, in massive numbers, where you are constantly under siege even when you are relatively safe. This show is trying too hard with character development and not enough in the zombie department. Action first folks, then character development.[Edited on November 1, 2011 at 8:34 AM. Reason : -]

If the characters had depth then it wouldn't be so bad. But making us spend almost 35 minutes of one episode with these characters before seeing even one zombie, and with very little character development is not good show writing.
11/1/2011 8:45:52 AM
Clearly they are failing to develop their characters despite trying so hard, but I think the major point here is that they are getting away from the bread and butter of "The Walking Dead" ... the ZOMBIES!The characters are an afterthought, and are meant to quickly develop and then die, that's how it should work.[Edited on November 1, 2011 at 8:56 AM. 11/1/2011 8:53:32 AM
that's bread and butter for your typical B rated zombie fare which the powers that be have said many times that this show is not. It's not the road map that AMC and the writers have elected to take. I haven't read the graphic novels but I can only imagine the characters are more important in that version and not just extra bait for zombies to feed on from page to page. But i am agree that the suspense and scare need to be ramped up a bit.]
11/1/2011 9:16:45 AM
It should be called The Walking Living at this point. Even if they had a different direction in mind for character development, they aren't doing a good job. So poor character development plus a lack of zombies equals boring tv.
11/1/2011 11:10:29 AM
cool, so you're going to stop watching then?
11/1/2011 11:35:55 AM
don't care if he stops watching, just stop posting.
