I will most likely be here in Arlington, TX. I need to find a good bar for the game. Will bars even show soccer in Texas? I bet you 10/10 people here don't know who Clint Dempsey is and he's from here.

All I need is Guinness on tap.

ALSO

LOL at China 1 - 0 France. And LOL at goalkeepers for this World Cup. Watch this ball's path. So much for Adidas hyping true flight. Unless it hit Evra, and it doesn't look like it did to me, that ball moves like crazy.

wtf. i would be livid if i were a keeper. that chinese dude hit it with the inside of his foot, he was going for upper 90 to the keepers left (from behind goal) but that ball swerved to the opposite side...you could tell it did some weird ass shit halfway through on the flight and it definitely didnt touch the wall...

shit, as a player i might not even like that cause if i was trying to curl the ball around the wall, im pretty sure id want it curl around the wall...

i know the keepers always complain before every world cup about the ball, but they might actually have a case this year...

edit: damn after i looked a few more times one angle looks like it couldve taken a deflection, but 2 other angles doesnt look like it. i have no idea what to think on this now...haha

jesus

He didnt even knuckle ball it. I've played keeper for a long time and I always hate those knuckleball shots cause they make you look fucking stupid.

It didnt even look like he kicked it that hard either.

^i dont think it did cause the rotation of the ball stays the same throughout its flight.

I might be seeing things, but were those the Gallaghers in that commercial?

Nevermind, should have watched the whole thing before posting - knew it was Noel once I saw Snoop. Who's the guy Noel's sitting next to? He looks vaguely familiar.

Oh lord. Annoying horns again all game long...

I have a question. In the past didn't ESPN do a studio call over the International feed? Are they now having all their four broadcast teams and studio actually in South Africa?

I know the group today is actually at the game since Rob Stone was on the sidelines...

Yeah, sometimes, but this* is the World Cup. They're not going to phone that one in.

*Obviously not this friendly, but I'm sure they'd have to head down there ahead of time anyway.

For the WC they always send everyone over. God knows they'll need camera crews in SA to produce all those human interest packages they love so much.

They didn't send all the announcing crews to Germany in '06 and I can't find anything on the '02 WC

I'm pretty sure they did Euro 2008 from Bristol though

i'm damn excited about this. While i can't say we're "better" than usual per se, we look very very athletic. our forwards and defenders looked good against Turkey and i think they looked ok against a perenially underrated Australia -- people at work seemed to think we looked terrible against Australia. England looks shakier than usual, and i think we have a shot at winning our group.

going to be in Minneapolis, so will likely go to this: http://nomadpub.com/

My only qualm is that the HD versions of the games take up like 12% of my DVR space. I mean, I'm going to watch them asap, but it really puts the pressure on when this weekends games will fill up my DVR entirely.

So Barry's not going to play Saturday? Good news for us. Dempsey/Donovan can exploit that space in front of Engerland's defense if Fabio goes with Gerrard/Lampard

Capello needs to put a muzzle over his mouth or something. If Rooney gets a red card for cussing out a ref everyone in England will hate him.
