Kinda wish my work league people weren't such dumbassesbut then I wouldn't get to laugh in their face every monday

I have nothing to say to owners of team's like this other than you should branch out of your 4 man, 8 and under fantasy football league.
9/24/2009 9:46:25 AM
Takes all the challenge out of itIts an easy thousand bucks, thoSuprisingly, I'm 1-1
9/24/2009 9:54:03 AM
OK, league question here.We have two couples in our league...I'm saying that they shouldn't be allowed to trade, because the girls just ask the guys for advice, etc. But we have no rule in stone. One guy just proposed a trade to get Brian Westbrook from his wife for Cadillac Williams. They just played each other last week. Westbrook was a 1st round keeper draft pick in our keeper league and Williams went undrafted and was picked up on waiver the first week. Williams hasn't started on the guys team yet, while Westbrook is an every week starter.Am I crazy for thinking this should be veto'd?
9/24/2009 10:40:03 AM
^^ must work with idiots. The fact that they laid a thousand on it and let you get that team is mindboggling
9/24/2009 10:43:21 AM
9/24/2009 10:45:29 AM
I would veto that.
9/24/2009 10:52:57 AM
Any thoughts on a Cotchery for LT trade? I made it this week (had Cotchery) and there were a few who threatened veto? Am I wrong to think that the trade wasn't as uneven as some people claimed? Also proposed two other trades: Give Harvin/BarbourGet Moss/Turneror Give Barbour (or LT)Get MossLooking for receiver help. I have Andre Johnson, Harvin, Donald Driver, and Meachem for WR, and Rice, Barbour, Gore and LT for RB.[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 11:04 AM. Reason : We play 3 WR, 2 RB]
9/24/2009 11:00:44 AM
I hate vetos aand only think they should be used if collusion is CLEARLY evident.Lopsided trades happen all the time in real sportsLast year I had Hightower when he has supplanted James and before it was evident that he wasn't that great after allAnother guy had Peyton and WarnerSince he could only play one of them, it was a waste to have both on his roster, so he proposed Peyton for Hightower since his RBs suckedI accepted, and it was veto'd because we were both good teams and the other teams didn't want to see us get better It was pure bullshit, and cost me a shot at the titleI prefer leagues where only the manager can decide to veto, and you all have input in the interim to say if you think its fair
9/24/2009 11:06:48 AM
I agree veto shouldnt be used on a bad trade...but when it is lopsided and they are a couple...it's different.Conflict of interest.
9/24/2009 11:22:50 AM
I think the main problem is letting one guy (the husband) having significant influence over two teamsI guess this is OK for Casual leagues, but it would never fly in the super serious hardcore cutthroat leagues I play in
9/24/2009 11:25:21 AM
Which one?Matt Ryan vs NEorJoe Flacco vs. CLEStill unsure about how good (or bad) the NE defense is.
9/24/2009 11:30:51 AM
^^like the one you posted at the top of the page?^I'd go with Ryan. Flacco might get some numbers early, but Cleveland blows so it'll probably be ugly early. The falcons/pats game should be more of a shootout[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 11:33 AM. Reason : asdf][Edited on September 24, 2009 at 11:35 AM. Reason : asdf]
9/24/2009 11:32:33 AM
^^Flacco
9/24/2009 11:33:30 AM
See that league is for shits and gigsFinancial geniuses but complete homer sports fans (Roeth was first overall pick)My serious leagues are so serious there was once a fistfight over a waiver claim for Samkon Gado
9/24/2009 11:38:06 AM
haha, point takenmy turn Pick one:Eddie Royal @ OakTed Ginn @ SDSteve Smith (NYG) @ TB[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 11:40 AM. Reason : asdf]
9/24/2009 11:39:38 AM
Slave Famous, please never again give me shit about people auto drafting in my league, when you clearly play with a bunchy of down syndrome retards
9/24/2009 11:42:59 AM
But we live draft, so the fun is magnified 10 fold when someone gets lambasted for taking Eli 9th overall
9/24/2009 11:54:35 AM
^^I wouldn't even keep Ginn on my team. I'd say Smith.
9/24/2009 11:54:36 AM
what? Ginn had a great week last week
9/24/2009 12:53:07 PM
^& 2 grabs for 26 yds the week beforeway too hit or miss for me
9/24/2009 12:54:53 PM
It's week 3. Really hard to tell trends right now. Either week could have been an anomoly. I would wait and see what Ginn does this week before shipping him off. He's looking like the unquestioned #1 on a team that has a solid running game.No one knows what is going to happen to the once the rest of the Giants WR's come back.make your decision after week 2, IMO.
9/24/2009 12:58:48 PM
9/24/2009 12:59:24 PM
Brady vs ATL orSanchez vs TENor is this a stupid question...
9/24/2009 1:07:52 PM
lol, I meant week 3
9/24/2009 1:43:07 PM
^^ a rookie vs. the QB who holds the single season record for most TD's.Dude, do not over think. Every team is not going to be the NY Jets. I promise Brady will land 300+ and 3 TD's this week.
9/24/2009 1:44:35 PM
Which one?Westbrook vs ChefsC. Williams vs GiantsT. Jones vs TitansEDIT: AlsoMarshall vs Oakland or Santana Moss vs. Lions?[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 1:52 PM. Reason : ]
9/24/2009 1:50:05 PM
Isn't Westbrook hurt? I was going to start LeSean McCoy because of that...
9/24/2009 1:55:43 PM
as is the case every season, westbrook will be listed as questionable for the next 3 months[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 1:59 PM. Reason : ,]
9/24/2009 1:59:23 PM
Yes. You start Brady...don't be scared...last week was a fluke.
9/24/2009 2:03:00 PM
I AM SO SCARED!
9/24/2009 2:05:14 PM
I've got Carson Palmer for QB in one of my leagues, but his matchup is pretty scary. Should I trust him this week (I benched him last week, which burned me, obviously) or pick up one of the following options:Joe FlaccoMark SanchezKyle OrtonMy gut says to go with Flacco...but I almost lost last week by playing Shaun Hill over Palmer.
9/24/2009 2:55:31 PM
I like CarsonSteelers run defense is better than their pass D, plus Head and Shoulders boy is out
9/24/2009 3:02:56 PM
Seriously though, banged up Westbrook or Cadillac vs suspect Giants run D?
9/24/2009 3:11:37 PM
^game day decision
9/24/2009 3:12:03 PM
hoping welker is out so edelman can get in. otherwise, its pierrre garcon
9/24/2009 3:20:20 PM
I just heard on Sports Radio that Welker is going to play.pick 2 to startHoush vs CHIMario Manningham vs TBRoy Williams vs DALTed Ginn Jr vs SDDevin Hester vs SEAChansi Stuckey vs TEN[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 3:46 PM. Reason : .]
9/24/2009 3:44:33 PM
my vote =Housh vs CHIMario Manningham vs TBmaybe... Roy Williams vs DAL instead of Manningham
9/24/2009 4:34:22 PM
Roy Williams vs Dallas? Sweet, the Panthers really beefed up their receiving corps, unbeknownst to me [Edited on September 24, 2009 at 4:35 PM. Reason : typos called out ITT]
9/24/2009 4:35:14 PM
Roy Williams vs DAL???!?!man that would be some shit
9/24/2009 4:35:24 PM
Pick the lesser of my two evils for defense: Jets or Falcons? I too, am thinking Brady and the Patriots will not be holding anything back (especially since he is my QB), so I am leaning toward the Jets. Also, does anyone think Pierre Thomas will play Sunday or should I keep him on the bench?
9/24/2009 6:09:18 PM
dunno about Thomas, but the Jets haven't given up an offensive TD yet this yearI'd definitely play them
9/24/2009 6:10:38 PM
Pick 1:Percy Harvin vs. SFSteve Smith vs. TBHoushmansdfkasdga vs. ChiEddie Royal vs. Oakland
9/24/2009 6:20:28 PM
I'd say Smith or RoyalRoyal hasn't done shit this year, but he balled out on Oakland last year
9/24/2009 6:24:41 PM
i was thinking smith, especially since Hasselbeck will probably be out.oh, and please for the love of god let Marion Barber be out this week.
9/24/2009 6:29:16 PM
Oakland's defense is much better than last yearI'd go with Smith
9/24/2009 6:31:04 PM
Oakland's pass defense was solid last year too...and I'm assuming Asomugha is gonna be on Marshall most of the gameI woulda said Housh but yeah Hasselbeck is outI'd probably go Smith but I hope Royal blows up[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 6:34 PM. Reason : and ftr, the only reason I knew how to spell Asomugha is bc i'm playing vs OAK on Madden ]
9/24/2009 6:32:30 PM
Oakland is easy to figure outGood rushing offense, shitty passing offenseShitty rushing defense, good passing defenseThe one wildcard is Seymour...he could singlehandedly pull their Rush D up several notches
9/24/2009 6:34:29 PM
So this is not just my thought due to overreacting to Bradys suckage last week and Schaubs great week, but also the matchups this week. Schaub v JaxBrady v AtlI think Schaub has a great matchup. I think both games will potentially be a shootout as Houstons D sucks donkey balls, but Houston also has the run game to turn to, whereas NE does not. Thoughts? I don't think I can really go wrong with either and I love the moron who dropped Schaub post week 1 to my #1 waiver spot, part of it is I just don't want to waste him when he has a juicy matchup, but I did draft Brady as my stud.. hmm.
9/24/2009 7:05:54 PM
much tougher call than the other Brady questionbut keep this in mind...Delhomme looked pretty good last week against ATL's pass defensefood for thought
