THIS SEASON IS MISSING ONE CRITICAL ELEMENT:DESMOND TIME TRAVELING (brotha)They really phucked up when they let him and Penny go to other ABC shows
3/7/2010 11:26:18 AM
Desmond and Penny have to come back in some capacity. We still have no idea what the fuck is up with the mysterious feud between Charles Widmore and Ben Linus, which has been a huge part of the past two seasons (their feud seems like a mini-MiB vs. Jacob i.e. they can't kill each other) and **SPOILER ALERT****DON'T READ PAST HERE, MAMBAGRL***Since we've been lead to believe by the next-episode teaser that something is going to go down with Ben and Widmore clearly wants Ben dead, my guess is that Charles Widmore, Penny, and Desmond will return in the next episode (let's hope). I, too, have been disappointed in the lack of Des this season. But, they have to tie up the Charles Widmore loose end in some capacity; they spent way too much time on it.
3/7/2010 12:54:28 PM
Desmond is still my favorite character.
3/7/2010 1:08:25 PM
^^ i'm thinking they may have just made the preview misleading and he'll be ok
3/7/2010 1:15:35 PM
I think you're right. Still, something has to happen with him in this next episode, even if it isn't anything drastic or extreme. I still think Desmond and the Widmores will return this Tuesday.
3/7/2010 1:49:35 PM
it's possible desmond will be back on tuesday, but considering the title of the episode i don't know how big his role will be or if we'll learn much (if anything) about his role in the other timeline. i don't think we'll know the importance of the alternate timeline until well over halfway through this season. i'm assuming all of the main characters will have to have their episodes before anything happens. so far we've only seen jack, kate, locke, and sayid, so we still need to see sawyer, sun/jin, hurley and desmond. since it's obvious who the next episode is about and the one on the 23rd has already been mentioned, i think it's gonna be at least 6 or 7 more episodes til we know anything. and that's purely speculation, but i'm thinking it's still gonna be a while, and that pisses me off.

3/7/2010 3:54:01 PM
We do
3/7/2010 7:31:14 PM
i don't remember how exactly the regime change happened. widmore got some woman pregnant with penny, which wasn't allowed, so ben just told on him or something?
3/7/2010 7:33:59 PM
it also seemed like "Alvar Hanso" was gonna be a pretty important characterwhatever happened with that
3/7/2010 7:41:01 PM
^ nothing really i guess. but i remember that one episode where widmore buys the journal from someone on the black rock at that auction that the auctioneer guy said the person who originally found it was a Hanso.
3/7/2010 7:44:39 PM
Ernie, what are the origins of their feud, then?
3/7/2010 7:52:19 PM
whidmore got elloise pregnant with Daniel. And I think a rando off-islander with Penny. From what I recall; Whidmore was running shit. Ben claimed to have spoken to Jacob. Not much later, he had Whidmore banished off of the island (i seem to recall it having something to do with a pregnancy as far as his explanation to others).Whidmore is pissed because Ben had him kicked off the island. I think Ben originally did it simply because he wanted to be the guy who runs shit. I really don't think there was much more to it than that.
3/7/2010 8:00:22 PM
Pretty much that

any chances of a 2nd lost? somehow a continuation through a new series instead of a "and they lived happily ever after" at the end of this season.i know this is the end of the series but this could not be the end of lost kind of like the season finale is not the end of the series. the series finale could not be the final end of the show.
3/7/2010 8:30:15 PM
I think I like this show when it was called, Gilligan's Island
3/7/2010 8:33:37 PM
^^I'm sure it isn't the complete end of Lost as we know it. In maybe a year or two they will have some kind of spin off or something. I predict it will be totally shitty and will barely make it one season.
3/7/2010 8:40:30 PM
^^^ where did you even get that quote from?
3/7/2010 8:45:01 PM
But, when Ben had the opportunity to kill Whidmore, they either said or suggested that they couldn't kill each other. Why would that be?
3/8/2010 12:52:46 PM
it's against the rules, whatever they are. it could be something similar to MiB not being able to kill jacob i guess. maybe people who were leaders of the island at one time can't kill each other? i don't know.
3/8/2010 1:26:11 PM
more than likely they still consider themselves both to be candidates and thus believe that they aren't allowed to kill each other or perhaps can't be killed..
3/8/2010 8:37:44 PM
i don't recall either of them ever being informed that they were candidates, nor that there was such a thing as a candidate in this sense.[Edited on March 8, 2010 at 10:06 PM. Reason : a such]
3/8/2010 9:39:38 PM
wasnt locke a "leader" at least for a few days.... ben killed locke end of theory

^^ finally an episode about Vincent!
3/9/2010 7:50:33 AM
Vincent is a candidate, he just doesn't have a last name
3/9/2010 8:03:56 AM
apparently a different dog was cast to play vincent this season fuck you mambagrl
3/9/2010 9:58:42 AM
yay, Roger Workman!
3/9/2010 9:11:10 PM
yeah that whole Work man, Ben, Alex dynamic was pretty cooland it was good to find out why Lupidus was crying when he saw Oceanic 815 had crashed on tv, even though that wasnt a major question/answer
3/9/2010 9:18:28 PM
We already knew that Lupidus was supposed to be the original 815 pilot, right?
3/9/2010 9:20:01 PM
^Yeah we found that out before.^^That wasn't Lapidus that was crying it was Faraday.
3/9/2010 9:37:48 PM
^^ wasn't it Farraday who was crying anyways
3/9/2010 9:37:54 PM
damn, good fucking episode, lots of questions answered
3/9/2010 10:00:21 PM
Love the Leonard Cohen sample they played for next weeks teaser. does that mean something?!?[Edited on March 9, 2010 at 10:03 PM. Reason : bold]
3/9/2010 10:02:53 PM
that ending was SO season 1. so i guess widmore is the one who jacob said was coming to the island? ben's character arc is incredible.
3/9/2010 10:03:15 PM
^yes, yes, and yes
3/9/2010 10:04:40 PM
initially after watching last week's enhanced episode i thought widmore might be with MiB since he told locke he had to return to the island because a war was coming, and if he didn't the wrong side would win. it seemed to me like it might've been foreshadowing that MiB needed locke's body and that widmore was in cohoots with him, but i don't think widmore could've known about all that.
3/9/2010 10:09:43 PM
indeed a great episode. i couldn't help but laugh out loud when the periscope breached the water's surface. and yes, that ending was very season 1.
3/9/2010 10:32:10 PM
Can someone remind me how Michael died? Was he on the freighter went it blew up? I remember he tried to kill himself after he left the island but couldn't.
3/9/2010 10:36:22 PM
That's pretty much it. Christian appeared to him just before the freighter blew, said something along the lines of "you can go now".
3/9/2010 10:38:09 PM
widmore must have been able to do something good for the island before ben told on him since the whole flash sideways thing looked like it was supposed to mirror their conflict.
3/9/2010 10:46:08 PM
Well, it mirrored it to a point. There were obviously some huge differences.[Edited on March 9, 2010 at 10:51 PM. Reason : ]
