well we will have to disagree then, I dont think its my "call" on what they deserve or not... if they go by the rules and work hard then they are cool with me... still want to beat the shit out of them but not to the point of solely doing it to make them feel like shit

respect on the gridiron means not dishing out low blows, or head shots, or shots to the back.not stopping doing what the fuck you're there to do, and get better at.i hate the patriots. but what i hated more was all the shit they caught for playing football from start to finish. fucking faggot whiners.[Edited on August 28, 2008 at 11:32 PM. So....what we learned tonight:1) We were competitive with Russell Wilson as QB (motivated, elusive, playmaker....almost had it there before the injury)2) Our defense (or any defense) can't win the game on its on without help from offense and will eventually wear down in the game.3) Daniel Evans couldn't make 3rd string as a high school water boy4) Beecher (from USC) couldn't make 3rd string as a high school water boy.5) South Carolina is going to get raped by the SEC again this year because they might as well have been playing against tall grass by the end of the 3rd quarter.6) That was some definite NC State sh** tonight.
8/28/2008 11:31:51 PM
i think you should leave one fire tob for people to bitch and moani mean out of those 3, that football outlook was the one you left??
8/28/2008 11:32:04 PM
I got news for you Chapel Hill will be decent this year, if they avoid injuries they will be a force in their division. We have to beat ECU.
8/28/2008 11:32:39 PM
^^^ I agree with those points^ oh dont say that now! I got SO much shit on here when I said Butch Davis was a great hire for UNC... didnt hear the end of it for months and months[Edited on August 28, 2008 at 11:33 PM. Reason : d]

^um...we were well into the Red Zone when he got injured, he got the ball moving, AND he didn't throw the ball to the other team.[Edited on August 28, 2008 at 11:40 PM. Reason : .]
8/28/2008 11:38:49 PM
i am personally not saying that wilson is some stud at qbbut at least he wasnt throwings intsat this point in my nc state life, i would be happy with that
8/28/2008 11:39:22 PM
8/28/2008 11:45:49 PM
We weren't in the red zone when he got hurt.. I don't know if we were in the red zone all fucking game.
8/28/2008 11:46:18 PM
well looks like we're picking right back up where we left off
8/28/2008 11:47:06 PM
i agree, wilson was what seemed to be a bright spot at qb. you do have to remember that when evans plays, you have to spot the other team two tds because he is good for at least two pick 6s or at least two devastating turnovers
8/28/2008 11:47:09 PM
It has to be telling if TOB was willing o start a Freshman QB over Evans
8/28/2008 11:49:08 PM
then again, you cant hold those snaps against him
8/28/2008 11:49:51 PM
Not sure that wilson was a bright spot, he wasn't doing anything amazing but he wasn't throwing the ball to the other team. The one thing with Wilson is that the shotgun spread draw actually works, because he can pull it and run. That threat isn't there with Evans. Apparently that was the only play we practiced since the spring, so when he was out we were fucked. Wilson has potential, but if he doesn't get hurt nothing that was going on was pointing to us winning even with him.
8/28/2008 11:49:54 PM
yeah, i can understand why you feel that way. i just felt good having a qb that would not turn the ball over on some candyass pass that we all knew he could not complete. that being said, when he did get a good pass out, it got dropped
8/28/2008 11:53:29 PM
Garbage ass football team, jesus lord in heaven, we beseech thee, send us some fucking talent for once.

I did enjoy watching the defense. A lot of energy while the game was close, they were flying around the ball although missed some contain especially on screens, put pressure on the qb.. etc. They probably played 5-6 quarters worth of defense since we couldn't hold the ball on offense. Also forced turnovers, something we did not do much of last year at all. It shows progress on that side of the ball.
8/28/2008 11:57:18 PM
Everyone can say what they want. We have a serious problem with offense. It seems that we can run the ball, but it all comes back to the qb(assuming he gets a good snap). I guess we are screwed so we might as well drink a lot of beer and have some fun because we dont have any championships to worry about
8/28/2008 11:57:39 PM
Personally, I can't wait until the Duke game where we will officially take the crown as worst in the ACC for the next 2 decades.gg offense. I'd much rather see our 2nd string defense get on the field instead of the offense or just run defense the entire game. We'd still score 0 but at least we would hold the opponents to a lower score.NCSU athletics needs to be nuked from orbit.
8/28/2008 11:58:14 PM
It's hard to paint Wilson as a bright spot when he didn't really do much of anything when on the field. Kudos to him for, if nothing else, holding serve and not forcing anything or trying to do too much. Also, I'm very glad he's not dead.Realistically though, you all had to have seen this coming. A very good Gamecock defense going against an NC State offense missing a top receiver, two top running backs, and walking in with a completely untested offensive line. It's hard to fault South Carolina for running up the score in the first game of the year after the absolutely atrocious offense they had in the first half. They've got to learn to score points just like we would've had to if we were in their situation because their offensive performance in the first half wouldn't cut it in D-IAA, let alone the SEC.The only positive I'll take out of this game is that we had four interceptions, our defense played well until the end of the game where they were gassed, and that we committed fewer penalties than in our opening game last year.
8/28/2008 11:58:17 PM
Is there a post game/call in radio show? I thought there use to be, but can't find it on the dial?
8/29/2008 12:00:11 AM
same old story, just a different year. Why is it that most other teams teams in the ACC have QB's that can actually play at the collegiate level and we don't year after year? This is now the 5th year post-rivers era and we still haven't had a legit QB. Living in Chicago is hard enough with the QB situation. I can't handle two teams like that.
8/29/2008 12:00:40 AM
For the record guys, the only reason I mentioned wilson as a bright spot is because he did not contribute to the opponent scoring. This is an art that Daniel Evans has mastered as our QB. I think he means well, but he just cant get it done
8/29/2008 12:03:07 AM
Pull the redshirt off of Glennon and give it to him. How much worse can it get?
8/29/2008 12:05:01 AM
you know a key problem for us is our wr's which contributes to the qb'si didnt get to watch much of the 1rst quarter, but i did see some RW drops whereas when evans came in, some lucky spectacular catches actually made him look a tad bit better in the stat columnb/c of our lack of any receivers to speak of, a qb who doesnt turn it over is that much more importantas for the snaps, you def cant put those on evans. i hate evans and would love to blame him for everything, but not those snaps. throwing off his back foot on every single throw we can blame him, but not the snaps
8/29/2008 12:10:09 AM
Good night to you all. I have faith in TOB. I think we will bring a good team one day. Its not going to be this year. Just remember what Chuck left him with. We have a good coach and I will just try to keep on remembering that.
8/29/2008 12:10:10 AM
FUCK A DUCK
8/29/2008 12:11:02 AM
Glennon would get killed.....that is idiotic. Why any of you want him out there on this team is beyond my understanding.

The guys we have are getting killed so what is the difference. At least we can get some miles on a guy who will be there the next 3 seasons
8/29/2008 12:13:35 AM
starting a freshman that you have high hopes for behind an o-line that couldnt block against paraplegics is not generally a good idea. it leads to injuries and can ruin them mentally.
8/29/2008 12:15:52 AM
You guys act like we could pull this crap together in a matter of a few years. Glennon is still going to inherit a terrible offense next year as well.
8/29/2008 12:17:53 AM
Point taken. I understand what you are saying. The Oline has been an issue for a while. Hopefully TOB can get some of those huge fuckers he had at BC.
8/29/2008 12:18:37 AM
8/29/2008 12:20:57 AM
Agreed. That could have led to a lone score.
