Everywhere I've checked has said it hasn't leaked yet. Although, the full version of "superfriends" can be heard here.

^^ Little Diane and Longtime Sunshine are out as well. You can find them here: http://www.fluofiles.com/hianta/07%20Longtime%20Sunshine.m4a
http://www.fluofiles.com/hianta/16%20Little%20Diane.m4a

Here are 30 second clips of each song at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Alone-Home-Recordings-Rivers-Cuomo/dp/B00110JDUQ/ref=sr_f3_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1197323412&sr=103-1

Listening to Superfriend last night was a strange experience for me. As I posted here, that song has been some sort of strange music holy grail for me for years, especially after hearing a very rough rehearsal of it in on the DVD Weezer put out. It really meets my expectations. It's a really rough demo, and his voice is incredibly off key at times on the girl parts, but I can just imagine it in the studio with Rachel Haden singing the girl parts and Pinkerton style production, and I think it would be absolutely epic. The lyrics are cheesy, but in that quirky way that would be so appropriate for the rock opera in space concept, not in the Make Believe embarrassingly terrible way.

Pitchfork has posted the new Xiu Xiu track "I Do What I Want When I Want"

I'll give it a listen when I get off work.

"* † - Justice"

speaking of, i went home this past weekend to see my family. my mom had me go to lowe's to pick up a doorknob and to the grocery store. i took my 8-year-old brother along for the ride. we were listening to music along the way and i ask him if he's having fun. he says he is and then i tell him "well, i've got something that's going to rock your pants off" and i pop in justice's "phantom"

we played out some more tracks along the way and when we got home, my mom asks how it went. my little bro was like "it was fun. chris rocked my pants off." she looks at me and i bust out laughing, not expecting that sort of verbatim response.

my little bro had me burn the album to the home computer later that day

i've got the promo of the rivers cuomo cd now, i'll rip it when i get home. if anyone wants a link, pm me

ps all the newest "demos" on this cd are garbage. the one that apparently just missed the cut for the newest weezer album is really bad, which doesn't bode well for album six.

"I Was Made For You" (Make Believe demo) is better than most of the stuff on Make Believe, but still fairly bland and poor lyrically. "This is the Way" is not only the worst Weezer related song I have ever heard, it's simply one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

that is the song i am referring to ("this is the way"). in the liner notes, he talks about how he submitted "this is the way" and a song called "daydreamer" that is six minutes long and everyone thought "this is the way" was better but "daydreamer" made the album. apparently it might still make album 7

Some really great stuff on there, but I'm absolutely terrified about "This is the Way". I pretty much agree completely with the Pitchfork review. On a somewhat unrelated note... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3NLwSVfSzw

Kala was awesome, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm going to have to go back and listen to that Battles album myself.

Also, Dan Deacon cracked top 25, thats an accomplishment right there (beating out Arcade Fire).

Lastly, Untrue has me exploring dubstep, which is quite telling of how fascinating the album is.

yea, i highly recommend it, and also throwing it on your ipod while you do grocery shopping, its lame but its what I do once a week.

Last note regarding that pitchfork list, Bloc Party's A Weekend in the City didn't crack top 50....

could you give some recommendations on some seminal dubstep albums i should check out sober?

I liked the album, granted I'm a Bloc Party die hard and had that and the weekend b sides back to back in my changer for about 6 months.

Did anyone ever see the Human Giant episode where Aziz was in a payola type situation with pitchfork reviews? Clel Tickle or something?

I swear these animal collective, panda bear kids must have Aziz threatening pitchfork to show them love. I mean, I enjoy their albums as much as the next self proclaimed hipster, but you'd think they were the second coming given the amount of love the blogosphere shows them.

I wrote a review of the Cuomo demo album just because I have an unhealthy obsession with him and had a lot to say: http://jonathanhawkins.net/index.php/review-alone-the-home-recordings-of-rivers-cuomo/

Don't know if I can really write... but there it is.
