21!
6/7/2006 12:30:10 AM
i always do that - post lots of images in single posts (first example i can think of is the hottest girl youve ever seen thread) and then i have to pad to the bottom of the page cause it gets to be too much to load on one (oooh my icons thread is another example)

My grandfather's wife commented on my aunt's nice pedicure, and how suprised she was that she had money to spare for one. She's a teacher in Nairobi, and the only reason her salary is liveable is because the school helps them with part of many of their expenses - part of the housing, part of the cell phone, part of food, etc.$8 a pedicure. That's a tip on a pedicure over here.Mom and I were talking about weddings, and she's all "You could do a heavy teatime, and serve things like ham biscuits". [NO].
6/11/2006 2:27:42 PM
wow, those amaryllis apple blossom are beautiful.oh christine, the flame lillies would make such a dramatic impact at your/a wedding. :-D and yeah, i have a feeling your mom is gonna be full of ideas you're absolutely against for a wedding.and natalie, STOP BEING STUPID. just wear what you wear. if you like it, buy it, wear it. if you stress THAT much about "OMG this is NOT trendy right now", you'll end up looking worse than if you didn't make such a big deal to you.I mean, if you're that worried about wearing what's trendy right now, you would have gotten rid of abercrombie stuff a long time ago.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, butL'Oreal Sublime Glow>>>>Jergen's Natural GlowThe color is so much better, there's a really really subtle glitter, and it doesn't have that weird smellPass on the gospel!!

speaking of wedding cake...my coworker just brought some in from a wedding she went to this weekend and it is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
6/12/2006 9:54:04 AM
they make good wedding cake?i thought it was all soo structural that it had to taste like cement to stay up & pretty

well, your other choice of clothing sounded pretty high class/pricey, and you sounded like you were stuck on what's trendy/high fashion. Abercrombie doesn't really fall into that, IMO. and for what you get at A&F, it's really not that cheap. i personally don't care what people wear. well, i don't care if you mix brands and stuff. i think it's pretty stupid to be the type of person that only wears stuff from one brand (i sadly know some people like this).
6/13/2006 3:44:12 PM
It's way unfortunate, I agree. But I only buy stuff there on sale - no way in hell am I paying $25 for a tshirt with a silly slogan on it. I got a pair of really comfy pajama pants there around christmas for $15 and I always buy camisoles and tank top to layer with there.Speaking of other awesome cheap stuff:American Apparel, hell yeah.
6/13/2006 4:46:20 PM
bikini bump!Where around here can you get a decent bathing suit that is grandparent friendly and reasonably priced (<$50)?]
6/22/2006 12:07:31 PM

6/22/2006 12:39:31 PM

6/23/2006 2:08:43 PM
let's run some tests

So, do epilators hurt as much as waxing?I'm feeling adventurous and am considering a brazillian wax, which would A keep the job done longer and B hurt less?
7/9/2006 10:39:20 PM
i don't have experience w/either ways of removing hair. but, i honestly don't know if i trust an epilator in such sensitive areas.now, going to a good salon with experienced waxers, i probably trust more.
7/9/2006 10:43:52 PM
oh man, whoever mentioned the diorshow mascara.... that stuff is seriously the best mascara ever and i really dont care how much it costs, its worth it. i never want to use drug store mascara ever again.
7/9/2006 11:22:38 PM
whats really great is having a friend that works at the chanel counter at nordies...........for a little while longer at leastwho uses Bare Minerals?
7/10/2006 4:31:03 AM
where's a decent and cheapish place near campus to get eyebrows waxed? i'd always done mine until now, but I was very impressed with Nerdchicks job. since I forgot my tweezers on vacation, now is an ideal time to take the plunge
7/10/2006 8:30:38 AM
I went to a place behind college beverage. I got my hair cut, colored, and eyebrows waxed for under $50. I forget the name of it though
7/10/2006 8:34:48 AM
^^the design gallery salon does a great job on all of that ^ stuff, but is slightly more expensive than that.$10 for a great eyebrow wax is a pretty good deal though.it's right across from the library in the same block as the bowling alley.[Edited on July 10, 2006 at 11:51 AM. Reason : ]
7/10/2006 11:46:03 AM
^^wow, remember the place plz. i need to get my hair cut and shiz and i might be able to get it done in gboro between ssII and fall, but idk.and $10-$12 is reasonable. i know this sounds awful, but i wish my brows were prominent enough to need shaping. i feel like i might as well shave em off b/c they're really not noticeable, and fuck using brow powder or pencils daily.
7/10/2006 1:57:48 PM
I get my hair and everything done at this place called Caju in Meadowmont Village in Chapel Hill and it's a pretty good deal - $30/month and you can come get your eyebrows waxed as often as you want. The woman who does mine told me you always need to make sure they're wearing gloves, and she said you can tell if they are a good aesthetician if they ask you what kind of medications you're on, like if you use benzaclin or accutane or anything related to your face because the wax can interact with it and such..it all has to do with how you're supposed to stay out of the sun on those kind of meds.Anyways, she does a really good job, she actually waxes it and does several smaller "pieces" instead of one big one at a time, and then she goes in with the tweezers and evens it out.
7/10/2006 2:01:47 PM
GET YER HAIR DID
7/10/2006 2:02:53 PM
^^those things sound fairly standard.(gloves, medications, and doing brows in sections)no one is good enough to get it in one rip, or cheap enough to try to.]
7/10/2006 3:05:30 PM
I can't remember the name of the place for my life...but it was right off hillsborough behind college beverage.I could tell you a good place in hickory...you can get your eyebrows waxed for $7. It's where I get mine done
7/10/2006 7:29:05 PM
Getting a brazillian wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be I went to generations salon in brier creek and Amy was my wax lady, and she fucking rocked. She let me do my nervous talking thing the entire time, and I got to pick what kinda music I wanted to listen to. The place was clean and she explained everything that was going to happen before hand, and even gave me some ibuprofen, because I was worried about it hurting. All in all it was a good experience for $70 (including tip)I plan on going back to her next time, and highly suggest that everyone else do the same.]
7/13/2006 1:28:25 AM
hmm, brow tinting, interesting.looks like a nice salon, with reasonable prices.
7/13/2006 1:35:04 AM
shit im scared to get a brazillian..my roommate got one last summer and she said it hurt like hell and shes not gonna do it againhaha emily my mom got her eyebrow's tattooed..they actually look really good and natural...but I use this stuff that works pretty well b/c i dont have strong eyebrows either. http://www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com/templates/products/sp_shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY2751&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7561[Edited on July 13, 2006 at 1:42 AM. 7/13/2006 1:39:13 AM
ooh that's pretty cool. do you just use that? i know i wouldn't use a powder or pencil everyday, but the brush-on thing looks pretty fast and easy.and yeah, a friend of mine from h.s. told me she had her brows tattooed on. she's vietnamese, and her brows were really short. so her mom got her to get them tattooed on, with a bit of an extended shape. and her hair just grows in to the main part.
7/13/2006 1:47:49 AM
yea i use it about every day...its an easy way to just brush my brows and add color to make it darker...that reminds me I need to get some more tomorrow heh my mom got hers done b/c she has killed her eyebrows since she was younger so she didnt really have many left and she kept using the pencils..but now they look natural and I think shes happy..it was a bit expensive though b/c she went about 3 times so I'm thinking maybe $400? i dont remember it was a year or two ago[Edited on July 13, 2006 at 1:55 AM.
