i think its a 266. I don't even remember earlier ones taking even more than 2 or 300 hours, and they were 200pt units as well.I'd just love to limit out those fuckers so I can do something useful in a relatively short span of time.

^Not worth it IMHO. If you do use slow machines, set the client to only accept timeless WU, otherwise you will not finish in time for deadlines and not get credit.
12/3/2004 8:09:37 AM
Hey, we moved into the 80's when no one was looking! Congrats all, let's keep it up!
12/3/2004 2:12:15 PM
If we add 2,500 pts. more per day, we'll be the #1 folding university!
12/3/2004 3:44:07 PM
12/4/2004 3:57:14 PM
Maybe I missed it, but what is the State folding team number? I just signed up.
12/4/2004 5:07:35 PM
59 I do believe
12/4/2004 5:17:34 PM
Ok, i should be up and running for state. Question: do you have to reinput all the info everytime folding starts?
12/4/2004 5:21:34 PM
^Welcome. You can just enter it once. It may not hurt to restart the client after you enter it.
12/4/2004 6:23:42 PM
12/5/2004 9:49:28 AM
^OK, you are right, but they do not help the project, which is the main goal. Run timeless WUs for the science and stats.

Got another stupid question.JUst finished first work unit, and i was wondering how long these things are supposed to take. This is my second unit with 400 frames, my first was worth 240 points. WHat is the average length/point ratio. I'm used to running seti and its 2 hour workunits, its a bit strange for me, as folding is taking about 4 mins a frame.Just looking for a perspectiveThanks in advance
12/6/2004 10:31:27 PM
you could add the following flags
-local -advmethods -forceasm
12/6/2004 10:39:39 PM
I Read all about the cpu reference [p4 2.8 no ht etc] i was just unsure what the average frame length was. Im running -forceasm right now, what do -advmethods and -local do? Ive seen them talked about but never explained. For reference im running an Athlon64 at 2.35 gHz[Edited on December 6, 2004 at 10:48 PM. Reason : _]
12/6/2004 10:46:52 PM
okay, -local is for when running more than one instance which without ht you probably don't need to do (only used when doing more than one instance)i have one running at 11 minutes a frame so 11*100/60 equals 18.33 hours WU 1275 (46 points)another at 7 minutes... not listed for point value WU 1098 this is just on my computer that i am on, running two instances (p4 3.0 w/ HT) can post more when i get to the computers.
12/6/2004 10:52:04 PM
OK thanks, I didnt know how long each frame should take. Guess im not taking an exceptionally long time after all. Thanks for your help.
12/6/2004 11:02:22 PM

Yup. That would be me.
12/6/2004 11:58:47 PM
Welcome to the team. You'll show up in the stats on 3rd party stats the next update or so. Don't worry too much about flags right now. Currently, I don't think there is much difference running them unless you have a P4 with HT or dual processors.

Finally cleared my 3,000 pts/day average (according to ExtremOverclocking), now just gotta maintain...At this rate, numero uno in 10 days....

12/21/2004 12:09:18 AM
Good work NeoEraser! That was one quick ride to the top. The challenge is to stay there.I just got a 600pt GROMAC!
12/21/2004 10:20:15 AM
kudos on that gromac.. I have no idea what I get anymore, it's hard to monitor 40+ machines...I just keep an eye on my 24hr. average (which is low, must find those machines and turn them on. Too bad they are spread out around the county. )
