^i like that a lot...what are your impressions of the gun itself?
4/12/2013 12:23:34 AM
I only have 100 rounds through it so far. It has had about 15 FTE, but the Internet says a few hundred rounds and that will go away. It does have some kick, as it is a baby 9mm, but it is totally manageable. At 7 yards, I was putting them all within a 6" circle on the first time out.
4/12/2013 12:42:07 AM
A FEW HUNDRED ROUNDS??Objectively, why is it that you chose this gun?
4/12/2013 1:28:13 AM
I wanted something small that I could carry. I tried a S&W air weight, but I'm not a revolver person. I love my glocks, but I wanted something smaller. I had tried a keltec pf9, but its trigger wasn't very good, and the recoil was a bit much for the amount of rounds I put through my guns. My wife has a 238 in .380. It has about 400 rounds through it with no problems. I tried using it, but it is just too small for my big hands. The 938 is 1/4" longer in the grip, which made all the different for me.I didn't do a lot of research on the 938/there wasn't much on it yet, as it had just been released. Now is when people are saying that they need to 'break in'. I personally can't understand why a $750 gun would need to break in, but I bought it, and have to deal with it. If it doesn't get better, I'll be sending it back till they get it working.[Edited on April 12, 2013 at 1:47 AM. Reason : .]
4/12/2013 1:46:52 AM
I love the looks of the 938 but stories like yours and a few others I've seen online make me a little hesitant
4/12/2013 1:59:11 AM
Consider the couple hundred rounds to break it in a "factory mandatory practice session" with your new firearm.

I managed to get some XDm magazines today for a normal price after two months of trying. Huzzah!
4/12/2013 11:17:03 AM
after seeing the m-11 in classifieds i looked for a vid on them... found thishttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=H_kB9fbJABc#t=143sproceeded to laugh my ass off.
4/12/2013 1:16:03 PM
BTW, at Lawman's, Smith & Wesson is now in their "actually restricted" sale list along with the FNs. Previously, they would sell S&W to anyone, but now it's public safety only.

PSA has blemished lowers in stock @ $99http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/palmetto-state-armory-blemished-lower-receiver.html
4/12/2013 4:20:51 PM
^^^ yea, I thought about buying it untill I saw the video of it blowing up in his buddies face.
4/12/2013 10:50:46 PM
For those of you that carry the Ruger LCP, just wanted to mention that I also carry in my right front pocket using a Desantis Nemesis. Only difference is that I've got the "Superfly", which has the flap on the side. It never prints, not even a little. I've been quite happy with it, and even when drawing the flap doesn't present a problem.

Anyone familiar with the M1A scout? I don't know shit about them but got a guy wanting to trade one of my AR's for one that is in like new condition with OD green stock (all I know)
4/14/2013 12:05:51 AM
It's a shorter barreled m1a. Still fires 308. It's a great gun I would rather have it over the vast majority of ar-15s but that's more a personal preference thing if your ar is in the average to slightly above average class I'd take the trade. If its something magnificent, I obviously wouldn't.
4/14/2013 8:26:24 AM
Without all the accessories added on that I wouldn't include it would be worth about $1500. One of my main reasons for the trade is it is hard to get fair value out of a gun I customized so much, most people who know their shit would rather just do it themselves. If it goes through I will probably just turn around and sell the scout.
4/14/2013 9:42:52 AM
I'm in the market for an M1A scout; hit me up if you want to flip it.
4/14/2013 8:21:38 PM
How much would one be worth to you?
4/15/2013 10:35:49 AM
depending on the condition of the gun, around $1500.[Edited on April 15, 2013 at 11:34 AM. Reason : IDK about an OD green stock though. I'd have to look at it.]
4/15/2013 11:33:01 AM
^ actually looks good IMHO but I typically prefer the full size m1a in walnut.
4/15/2013 12:10:19 PM
a buddy of mine had one of the first m1a scouts.i shot a single mag through it; not particularly pleasant. i believe it has a bunch of proprietary parts in the gas system too.
4/15/2013 1:02:02 PM
the standard 22" barrel would be a lot more pleasant to shoot[Edited on April 15, 2013 at 1:16 PM. Reason : my buddy's M1A is a blast]
4/15/2013 1:16:09 PM
its better than a 17.4 inch 30-06 i fired once.
4/15/2013 1:41:11 PM
Probably going to end up passing, he wants me to include my aimpoint and thinks his gun is worth $1900. I'd rather keep my gun than mess with that.
4/15/2013 1:53:14 PM
that's probably what you'd see as an asking price at a gun show. probably what they're going for on gun broker as well.[Edited on April 15, 2013 at 1:56 PM. Reason : certainly not worth that much to me]
4/15/2013 1:56:31 PM
Anyone ever bought a stock from these guys?http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/the-7/Enfield-P14-1917%2CSpringfield-1903%2CPre%2C64%2C70%2C77%2CRuger%2Ctang%2Cold%2Crifles%2Cwinchster%2CA3%2CMini%2C14%2CSako%2CL61%2C579%2Cfinnbear%2Cforester/DetailI really like the tan with black webbing. Just wondering how difficult the install would be. I lack all knowledge of bedding a stock and/or in-letting. Any advice? Anyone on here have experience working on stocks?

4/16/2013 8:54:50 PM
i picked up a couple of big solid wood doors from a nursing home today. gonna use them as workbench tops, one of which will be a reloading bench. all my reloading shit is still packed up from my move last week.
4/16/2013 9:07:44 PM
Anyone have experience with the CZ 550 series rifle?
4/17/2013 5:47:14 PM
i've shot one in .308.... I like my lever guns (savage model 99s) but the action was sooooo smooth it's a really well made gun.CZ & Savage imho are the best deals in bolt guns. it was a really nice gun imho. Also, what Ar mags should i get? (that are available now)i had 10 ordered from brownells but they've been on back order since december so i'm tired of waiting... i have ammo and still no mags..[Edited on April 18, 2013 at 7:35 AM. I prefer the Gen3 Windowed PMAGs
4/18/2013 9:22:21 AM
i like 20s better than 30s. PMAGs and GI contract mags.
4/18/2013 9:31:13 AM
Yeah the new (and old) 20rnd PMAGs are great. I prefer those to the 30rnd ones
4/18/2013 9:50:59 AM
Stainless or blued finish on a hunting rifle?Stainless typically costs more, but in this case the gun is more heavily discounted (Savage 114).Sacrilege to put a black scope on a stainless rifle? Or go looking for a silver one? Trivial, yes I know.
4/18/2013 12:26:30 PM
blued/stainless is personal preference. i like having a synthetic/stainless rifle around in case i anticipate rain.black scopes with black rings and bases look nice on stainless rifles
4/18/2013 12:59:29 PM
so tell me more about vortex scopes? is this a fairly new american company?how do they stack up against leupold and nikon? those are the only scopes ive previously owned.what are say two other companies that make a great scope for under $500?30-06, 300 yards maybe.
4/18/2013 11:49:19 PM
that savage up there now wears a vortex viper. it's not a bad scope for the money. the vipers are made in the phillipines, which is actually known for making decent optics at decent prices. the razors are made in japan and there's nothing wrong with japanese optics. their cheaper lines are made in china, so steer clear of them. the country it was made in is on the bottom of the scope where the turrets are.i've heard the burris fullfield ii line is pretty good for the price. zeiss conquests go for under $500 on sale. there's also the new redfield line that's made by leupold. good budget hunting scopes.i could sell the leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50 in the picture if the money was right. it's the long range model, so it has side parallax focus and a 30mm tube.[Edited on April 19, 2013 at 7:13 AM. I don't post in here much, but I'd like to request a "hell yeah"My future father in law just bought me a Colt 1911 .45 ACP with holster and ammo. Hell yeah.
4/19/2013 8:05:23 AM
i want better optics for all my stuff now its sad that the surplus scope on the m76 is better than most of my optics.
4/19/2013 8:07:40 AM
^^ I have that Burris and like it for hunting. Not a scope expert by any means but it gets the job done.
4/19/2013 8:08:37 AM
lifetime warranties are practically a requirement on optics imo
4/19/2013 9:35:00 AM
I have a Nikon monarch that I have been pleased with
4/19/2013 3:28:42 PM
life time warranty is one thing... all mine have that... the optics in the russian moster rival my $1200 leopold and dawrf my weavers.
